Advance game theory isn’t about actual games. Often the type of person who can reach these levels in strategic play and reaction time get placed in advanced programs. They end up as the “admins” of combat. Learning how to anticipate their enemy and the various ins and outs of force projection. These lessons translate into a 1v1 scenario quite well. They have a wider view of the scope of the contest. Such as the psychological game and the “rock paper scissors” effect.
Trap's gameplay is stunningly versatile. He basically utilized every Protoss army type, took advantage of the powerful units with flash damage and transitioning back and forth at the same time catching shin by surprise... Such a refreshing style.
Yeah, that are all the small things that is the difference between good players (like Master+) and the best of the best. Same with the Warp-in of the observer to force-field against the baneling runby.
I want Winter to change Trap's player card to "The Executor." Or maybe "The Centurion" given his military service. I love how he is playing in these games! The small mistakes actually make Trap more relatable too. Serral is just too perfect most of the time.
Is crazy to me how perfect he can be. Is like watching a machine some times. Also makes the match kinda Boring since you usually can bet he’s gonna find out of see it coming no matter what is done against him.
I’m calling it right now we’re getting a Trap vs Olivera finals in the World Cup, or you could swap either of those for Serral you can’t deny the goat.
41:30 Lowko: he's building up from a Stargate to a fleet beacon, just for the mothership core Me: uhhh, Lowko, first off the mothership core could be built at Cyber Core tech, and secondly, they're not in the game anymore 🤣 lol, one team production man strikes again
South Korea requires ppl use their real names online for forums and such. So the gov can track who said what etc. I guess thats carrying over more into gaming now too.
How protoss players' children are going to be taught to reverse count: "99 Drones on the other side of the map. 99 Drones on the other side of the map (but faster). Take one down and fly around. There's 98 Drones on the other side of the map."
That makes no sense - when shades are combined and moving fast Protoss can't know which shade the opponent has clicked on. Even if they did they wouldn't want to split them because that weakens the threat of the shade group allowing Adepts to be picked off much easier. The only situation that isn't true is in an Glaives all-in, where Protoss do split if they have mass Adpets.
Haven't played so not a clue, but it always feels like protons are just always better. Not in player control but in mechanics, more HP, better upgrades, better build abilities with set it and forget it. What's the drawback cuz I don't ever see one. I'd guess they more expensive but that never seems an issue
There is no such thing as race weakness or drawback as you say. Each race has his strength and playstyle, and if you exploit the strengths of your race better than your opponent you win, if you have the good unit composition
I’m Zerg, but here’s my take: Protoss has the most APM intensive form of map vision (compared with creep or sensor towers and scans). Protoss base units are the worst ones, stalkers are only good once blink is out, but they require intense APM. Protoss units being more expensive means that often their attacks evolve around a single unit; a colossus. A warp prism. Even a probe. This means that their attacks can often be “defused”. Their units are specialists; they are great against what they counter but extremely weak against what they don’t counter. This means they need to be very careful with army composition and positioning, more than the other races. Ghosts with EMP counter everything Protoss has super hard.
To add on to what everyone else said, Protoss is also really slow. You can really see it in the Dark games; Trap was constantly being attacked in multiple areas at once that he could only fight off *barely* despite the superior army, because the army is so slow.
1v1 is really becoming very stale especially versus zerg. Archon mode would be better to watch or more than 1v1 at this point NGL. heck you should cast the new races if you're gonna keep doing 1v1 but then again more than that is way better.
