I know at this time I'm a really small channel and don't have much influence on this platform, but I can't sit here making silly videos and staying silent about the chaos occurring in my country right now. What happened to George Floyd and COUNTLESS others was straight up murder. It's not enough to not be racist, we have to actively be ANTI-RACIST. This is the aesthetic I’ve been looking for all these years! I love historical fashion (especially the Edwardian era) and dark/light academia ties it in so well. Could you do a video on subtle outfits for light/dark academia? Like for people like me who don’t have the confidence to go all out with the aesthetic but still want to have those vibes. Idk if that makes sense lol
I love these, especially since most will work with shorter hair (mine is just about shoulder length). They twisted updo is definitely one I’ll be trying!! It’s so cute for casual days or even more formal events.
You popped up on my feed and your sense of style and humour is lovely. ( a little more Belle and a little less founding father.)Great choice of music. Victory rolls are best achieved with a rat. A rat it a hair coloured bun that the hair is wrapped firmly around.
Oh i love it! 💕💕 But my hair is still too short :") its a french Bob about chin length so i guess, i should try just Curling it. One day I'll grow my hair out again... when I'm in the mood to take care of my head more 🤧🤧
If you’re really into victory rolls and pin curls there’s this tool on Amazon you can buy called a roll and go. It’s about $30 with shipping but it’s a good investment if you’re into the vintage look.
Hi! Are you referring to the blue ribbon i used? If so, unfortunately i got it a long time ago so i dont remember where exactly i got it but i would check michael’s/joanns or your local hobby/crafts store, or even etsy! I’ve seen some really pretty colored ribbons and hair accessories on etsy :)
new to your channel and I love that you're also into this aesthetic! I'm just new to this type so I've been searching it up. Anyway, can't wait for you next contents❤
@@dressrelief yes it did! I'm actually planning on doing videos of this aesthetic. Btw, what's the clear difference between light and dark academia? cause most of what I see is usually dark and some are "light/dark academia".
@@jhanzelita awesome! I'd love to check out your videos as well. In terms of fashion and just the visual aesthetic, I find light academia to be pretty similar to dark academia with the plaids, blazers & coats, etc but with a lighter color palette. In terms of culture however its the opposite of dark academia as dark academia has a macabre interest in death, murder, existentialism, etc. while light academia is more positive. Personally, when it comes to culture I'm more a fan of light academia, although it doesn't seem as popular as DA (yet!)
Tip, when doing victory rolls try to flatten them back against your head. Rachel Maksy has some good videos on how to do them. Other than that it is just lots of practice.
Honestly I've had those laying around for years so I don't remember where I got them but I would check out Michael's or JoAnn's or whatever craft store is near you!
