There is no excuse. Like Nichijou is a pure example of what happens when animators just go to town out of affection and that looks gorgeous. How to best describe Yami to a friend? A retired Shounen protagonist that has already been through his adventures and knows all the tropes related to being a shounen protagonist
There's a cool pattern in Shounen; where we are introduced to an awesome character I like to call the "Light hearted Veteran" a somewhat mysterious character that completed their own story and is taking a back seat for the series protagonist. Examples like Shanks, Gildarts, Yami, Goultard (French show called Wakfu), and Boruto's dad.

I just want to point out that Yami's name literally means dark or darkness (can't remember) so every time he uses a spell I think of Pokemon cause he is saying his own name every 6 sword swings

This scene was my first introduction to black clover. I began the show immediately just to learn who the dude with the sword was. Yami's been my favorite anime character ever since.
One thing that I have always really loved about Black Clover is the amazing music, but in all honesty it's just a work of art in general. I really appreciate this show
Love how he gets this power by basically pulling a Kuwabara, gets trapped in another dimension, friends are in danger of dying, so he produces a power that can cut through dimensions. Bad ass.
Man with all the incredible abilities and his power and strength, Yami should have a 4 leaf. He fights and has power which makes him seem like he has one, they should’ve just give him one. He’s so amazing; he’s not just the DANCHOU of the Black Bulls, he’s everyones DANCHOU.
The biggest difference is the Asta Yuno relation in comparison with the Naruto Sasuke relation. Yuno often shows off the power of Asta just to make him not look worse than him. That’s something Sasuke wouldn’t have done
Yami is a beast my favorite character of the series. This dude is so chill no matter who he fights always has a strategy. First time I watch this I really thought he was gonna die against the Elf. I didn’t think he stood a chance but he was a a monster
When he said “I’m taking all the glory” that’s how u know he really had his own show Cuz after asta went full savage mode on vetto, we were all hyping asta up so ya I decided to take all the attention back
Ive always had this theory that when the wizards get new spells they are actually created from experiences they have seen, when yami mentions the spell reminds him of jack it makes sense, he needed a way to cut through the spell and he has seen how jack manipulates his mana to cut anything So maybe the spell used that idea and created dimensional slash

After all they‘ve been through, he just destroys him like that. I was so shook when I saw this scene AND SO FUCKING HYPED. Gosh. This anime. It really made me think of my life in a different way. A better way.
glad pierrot decided to make something look good for once...but why did we have to wait so long... hope season 2 will have this level of animation throughout
