I loved this book. I think Joel Edgerton makes a really good choice. I'm glad they're doing a show instead of just squeezing the whole thing into a movie.
i wish everything was a show these days to be honest. cinema and going to the movies is basically dead. Give us a mini series thats like 8 hours long vs trying to cram everything into 2 hours. Maybe then we wouldnt have to wait 5 years for Dune to be finished lol
@@twoheadedboypt2 You will like the book MUCH better! I can already see how much they've changed it. However, I am glad that it's Joel Edgerton instead of that ubiquitous Ryan Gosling who was scheduled to star in a big screen version.
access to infinite worlds. could find cures to all diseases, free energy, meaning of life. Dude is like... I'm going to spend all my time and energy to @#$% this guy's wife. Probably the most realistic movie I've ever seen.
we have all that now in 2024... just have too many (greedy companies and individuals like Gates and Zuckerbrg, Bezos..etc) keeping all of it for themselves. We have those Healing beds from "Elysium" already, just waiting to be mass produced. Think of all the doctors, nurses, etc...that would be out of work and obsolete. that's just medical field.
@@redrobotmonkey I'd say a mashup in that he doesn't realize he's in a different world at first, then realizes there are multiple worlds, and trying to get home.
This is what drives people away from films you just gave away the entire premise basically showing the movie without having to watch it other than what could possibly happen at the end which I’ll just wait for a clip to come out on RU-vid since I pretty much get the rest of it.
Ever heard of Universe Jumping? This is exactly what it's like only you usually experience it while you are sleeping! People think it's nuts. But until you experience alternate realities that you can see, feel, hear, taste, smell and remember vividly, you cannot understand how mindblowing it is. And this is zero drugs, zero prescriptions. But this scenario where another you highjacks your own life is insane. And terrifying.
You can see they changed a lot. I won't watch it and let them ruin my top 5 of all time fave book. At least it's no longer going to be Ryan Gosling in the role.
I love Sci Fi!!!! I didn’t realize, & I should’ve bc I’m old enough to know- that Jen Connelly has been acting since she was a kid. Saw her in Once Upon A Time in America. I remember her in her late teens and 20s tho
This is actually one of the best novels written about Multiverse. One of my favorite sci-fi novels and if they stay true to the book., they have the potential to knock it out of the park
The idea behind this is pretty similar to an Apple series called Constellation, which you should check out if the concept of superposition and alternate realities interests you. This could be cool too though.
🤯OMG It's crazy seeing this trailer after reading the book. I'm seeing everything I read. The end gets crazier 👍 Too bad 😔 they didn't put this in theaters & I won't be able to see it b/c I don't 😢 have appleTV.
Book was great. Blake Crouch is a very good writer. Grab his book "Run!" if you want something else you can't put down. Hoping that gets made into a movie too.
As a kid, I used to have the BIGGEST crush on Jennifer Connelly. But then again... what young boy DIDN'T?! LOL. It's been cool to see her progress with acting over the years. I'm actually surprised that she never ended up doing any Ashlee Judd-style, Angelina-style, Charlize-style, etc. kinds of roles. At least, I never saw her do any. :) Anyhow... at the very least, the premise of this film looks interesting.
If I could describe all of Jennifer Connolly's characters in one sentence, it would be "But her happiness was short-lived." This woman can't catch a break in any movie since the 80s. 😂
It's going to be tough to make a great movie out of an only "good" book. Now if they made a movie about "Upgrade" Crouch's latest book - that would be epic!
