Recent playthrough using a full stealth approach. It's an amazingly fun character build and has turned out to be one of my favorites. Stealth doesn't look as much fun when watching but it's ridiculously satisfying to play. Frost daggers and frost/fire bows abound. The shadowsteel daggers deal more brute force damage but honestly, freezing your enemies and smashing them into pieces is far more fun and visually pleasing, so as far as I'm concerned, they''re the best in the game, especially when taking on hordes of ghouls and vampire knights.

Ayy, a fellow stealth enthusiast! If only the developers came up with ways to make even the boss fights have some sort of solution for stealthy characters, cause stealth is the only playstyle that sometimes needs to switch to "dagger warrior" in the game. And you even called Xana what she really is, though i expected you to save Leanna just because you seemed to dislike Xana, RIP overattached mage. I share your sentiment about the spiders and that entire scene with the first spider cave felt very familiar, they are the worst, and the game's physics making them glitch around a bit whenever they switch surfaces doesn't help either. I'd prefer to fight 10 liches than have one of those things jump at me. I wish the cutscenes weren't removed from the video, it was kinda jarring for the scenery to suddenly change every chapter, but whatever, still good, some moments were hilarious, the suicidal black guard in chapter 2 was probably the best. Good thing to still see people enjoy this game.

Haha yeah, the thing is, I went through a phase last summer where I played through the entire game at least 10 times in a row. So by the time I recorded this playthrough, I was sort of "done" with the cut scenes and just didn't want them cluttering up space and time in the video. I don't think I really expected anyone to sit there and watch through it properly! I figured some people might just skip through to the parts they were interested in and wouldn't miss the talking :-) Also, this was my first attempt at stealth and it wasn't great. I recorded a much better, true stealth run later on, but I haven't uploaded any of them anywhere. I just recorded them for personal enjoyment, without commentary. As far as Xana goes, I don't dislike her...I just think - rightfully - that she's a sneaky, manipulative demon bitch. But I find her quite funny, actually. Leanna is who I can't stand. I love her outfit but the character is such a dummy and a Mary Sue, I can't stand her. The only reason I normally save her is because I love playing with the dragon weapons at the end. If I could use those weapons and keep Xana, I would do it every time. And the spiders...since I have severe arachnophobia, I'm amazed I love this game as much as I do :P Haven't played it since last summer since I sort of played it to death after first buying it. Also, right now I'm completely, excessively immersed in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which I just discovered last month (I'm an early 80s kid...grew up on Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, and except for DM, Witcher 3 and Outlast, have never played anything past PS2/Wii, so I'm pretty late to the game with a lot of these PC games). But I'll probably revisit DM after that because it is such a fun little game. I should go through and upload some of my other build playthroughs: Mercenary (pure warrior/melee), Merlin (pure magic and staffs), Elven Guard (archer), Power Mage, Fire Lord, and of course my very favorite - my perfect hybrid build - Scourge of Ashan. I can't imagine many people would care to watch them but I'll probably upload them for the hell of it anyway.

Wait so in the "follow xana" but "take skull for yourself" version , Xana dies ? Nooooo think of all the naughty things we could do in hell :(

Xana lives if you betray your father and presumably the two of you rule the world together. If you free your father, it's implied that she won't have the happiest ending and will probably be tortured indefinitely :-( She's an evil, lying bitch but at least she's amusing, whereas Leanna is just such a ditz.
