Sarah Hyland's body actually started to reject her father's kidney so she had to find a new donor - when her brother volunteered, Sarah didn't want to accept because she felt like she let her dad down and didn't want to go through that same thing again. But after her brother not backing down, and a lot of support, she accepted so had the second transplant.
She had this incredible painful and exhausting disease and still went to work and the other (male) actor got a mole removed and throw a sissy fit. It shows how nature and strong she is.

Everybody has to deal with different extents of health problems and his concerns about his face and his career were very valid. Whether or not the pain he experienced was the same as her, you shouldn’t put down one person to uplift another. All that matters is that they’re both ok as of now.

The parents that saw their kids didnt like it and took them out despite the money, abs great parenting move. So many wouldnt have done that. Assuming that is the reason and nothing else , I'm really happy to hear that.

The idea that someone is "selling out" is nothing more than a way for loser to shame people who have better opportunities than themselves. Never in the history of mankind have you heard anyone take the big money.. then give it back only to come back and say..I wish I never sold out. The parents made a choice based on their own reasons. But if those reasons were because their toddlers didnt like it, welcome to every naptime for every parent ever. Don't be dense in thinking they did some heroic feat. They eliminated the opportunity for a future that few will ever be afforded. Even as toddlers the requirements are pretty low for great compensation that will help them have a base to do whatever they set their minds to before they even graduate high school. It's not like the set of modern family is needing hardcore trained babies. The current actor has limited and forced dialogue and usually brief inconsequential scenes. For lifetime money, it is hardly selling out

I'll admit that i didn't know any of these "secrets" but i really don't get why they are called "dark secrets". The title mislead me into beliving that the cast of modern family had all done something really bad/dark

Despite the fact that all of these facts are not really secret they are also not dark at all. None of these things were really caused by any of the actors. These "secrets" are mostly just sad.
It's weird, but you can bash someone for being naturally slim, but someone whose life choices make them obese you can't bash. I don't think anyone should be bash, but plus sized women are celebrated, yet naturally slender women still face scrutiny... mostly from other women.
