@@notwerkinginthishouse8634 Things that probably will only prove lucrative for someone else after I'm dead. Gainfully unemployed right now. Long story. The only thing I can count on is uncertainty.
she is indeed Alex Dunphy! Her pride, the intelligence and the way she carries herself - with poise and grace - is exactly how she portrayed it in modern family. I just want to say well done 👏
She has the opportunity to just continue her career as an actress, yet she chooses to go to college and study for a degree. I respect that so much, since many would just keep riding on the wave of fame and choose the easiest path possible, especially considering all the pressure they're already under as a celebrity, but she chooses to also do something valuable outside entertainment. She actually has a similar kind of spirit and ambition as Alex.
I think it’s because she never had a normal life, something she’s always yearned for. I can imagine wanting to relax and live a normal life after that. She still is acting, I think she’s in a new show now.
She’s actually in my newest favourite videogame ! She plays Abigail in The Quarry, it’s awesome to see her in a recent piece of media for people my age
@Joe Bloggs HOW??? She literally said she loves it now. She has every right to say that she was “born into it” and it was decided for her. BECAUSE IT WAS. And being a child star is not easy at all! Her mother was trying to live through her! Ariel went through A LOT. I bet you wouldn’t be able to grow up in the spotlight and have EVERYBODY push you even as a child. Like at a point it’s like her mom is using her for child labor. And as a child living in the spotlight, CONSTANTLY being scrutinized you wouldn’t love it either. She is a beautiful, intelligent woman and she has every right to speak her mind and talk about what she went through without assholes like you saying she’s ungrateful and not even LISTENING to her story. That’s all it takes
@Joe Bloggs first of all her mother were emotionally and physically abusing her. She don’t need her toxic mother in her life. And second she “cuts off” her breast because of how much of a struggle it is. Which you don’t know anything about apparently. She’s not ungrateful but being with some toxic b and not supportive at all is bringing her down and not being motivated at all. As u can see she’s doing great.
the interviewer looked like she was so in awe of Ariel (in a respectful, admiring way, woman to woman) and so am i! her eloquence and quick thinking astounds me
1) Being in awe already includes respect so you didn't need to clarify; 2) Yes, she is eloquent but so are many other people - are you that easily impressed by normal way of speaking?
This young lady absolutely rocks! Her candor and openness are inspiring, and simply by acknowledging her abuse at the hands of -what appears to be-a narcissistic mother, she will help others.
Dude. I was looking at the picture that "showed her surgery scars", and I was like, what scars? I don't see any scars. You mean that tiny little line at the bottom of her breast is a scar? I honestly thought it was just a natural skin crease! Why do people get so hung up over scars?
Mainly because in this time of the world i feel like people really lay it thick on people to be perfect. Perfect skin, perfect body, perfect everything. For me, a self harmer, i'm proud for every scar i can show, bc it shows the battle i won and shows that other people can win battles like that too. Scars tell stories, you just gotta listen to them
I also thought it was just probably a small stretch mark or so, I don't even know how someone can be sooo desperate to search her whole body for a imperfection lol
people give this girl such a hard time for showing 'too much skin', meanwhile all those skinny instagram girls wear the same things as her but its ok because they're skinny... smh
I think it's amazing that so many of the castmembers from modern family had so much weight to carry in their personal lives while making this show (Sarah Hyland had two kidney transplants, Sofía Vergara battling cancer, Rico Rodriguez losing his father) and yet they were able to make so many of us laugh and create such a great comedy show. This is one of the shows, where the finale came way too soon. I miss my weekly dose of laughter. I need this show to comeback, like if you agree: Modern Family should return ... or at least a spin off ☺
Wow, it's not only Ariel being extremely elegant and mature, but also I love the way the interviewer lead this, and let her feel accepted and comfortable enough to speak her mind with no problem. Kudos to Ariel for being so brave, so talented and making hard decisions and yet moving on, and kudos to the interviewer too for being such a comprehensible woman.
To say that breast augmentation is necessary because of back pain is simply wrong, either willfully (in which case you are a charlatan) or due to ignorance (in which case, allow me to elaborate). Breasts aren't meant to be adjusted to be bigger or smaller, evolution has taken place over millions and potentially even billions of years to get things right. There was no such thing as breast enhancement or breast reduction 100 years or 200 years ago was there? Humanity has been around a lot longer than that - orders of magnitude longer. Animals with breasts have been around a lot longer than that -orders of magnitude longer again. People complaining of "back pain from breasts" should do one or more of the following: get a more supportive bra, do more exercise (weight training, mostly for quadriceps/hamstrings/glutes/lats), have better posture (e.g. make sure you're walking properly and sitting properly), sleep in a better position, wear less tight clothing, etc. Also, if your excuse is "people look at my breasts too much" or "i don't want to be sexualised" like that fool Ariel Winter, try wearing less revealing clothing (look at all the pictures she has with cleavage purposely showing and her showing her ass cheeks in shorts or whatever) and realise that people being attracted to you ultimately isn't a bad thing. If you don't want people to look at your breasts and think about them, don't show them off and talk about them straight after reducing them, it's obvious you just wanted them reshaped to be perkier or something. There is literally zero reason (other than to remove a cancerous tumor) a woman should have her breasts altered in any way. Stop being so envious of others and love yourself for who you are. A scar isn't gross. The reason for the scar is gross.

I feel Ariel's pain so much. I've had horrible back/shoulder/neck pains for years due to large breasts. From age 16-17 they grew from a 32D to a 32F cup. I used to always watch Ariel on Modern Family and after seeing this interview I got even more inspired to get a breast reduction. Last friday I went through the surgery and I'm currently recovering, happy as ever with my 32C. I love how Ariel is so open about this. For some reason this makes me feel understood & inspired.
A full C is a gorgeous look! Anything more and your risking a sprained tongue.... Just kidding I hope is there recovery goes well and you're happy with your decision
Good for her. Let's normalise being open about toxic environments. There is so much stigma around not being close with a family member but that just makes it harder to open up about. Proud of her for speaking up.
Bernadette Teaches Music Tell her to check with her Dr!! If she has other medical problems like back, neck pain, trout breathing at times( I have asthma and these puppies kill me at 32DDD- due to menopause). It never hurts to ask:)
Jazza BigHits they look good but cause many people pain. I’m naturally slim so they seem almost too big for my body. Like I’d rather go down a cup size to help my back pain than look “good” (according to society lol) but be uncomfortable all the time
Wow. I must admit, the media have portrayed her as such a promiscuous girl. But this interview totally changed my opinion. She's extremely well-spoken and elegant. I feel terrible to not have done my own research and basing myself solely on media. I think it's humble of her to want to go back to school and further her education. You go girl!
C L C L No, what I’m saying is that you don’t know how to read. I never said she’s smart (well spoken, elegant or having ambition do not mean smart). I never said I respected her now. I’m saying that the media often do not show a well-spoken, elegant and ambitious Ariel. Im not justifying anything. If your problem is because I was misguided in my perception of her, then that’s your issue, not mine. Get over it.
I am 18 and just underwent a breast reduction surgery…. As a kid when you have terrible back pain and you have the struggle about finding tops, it’s so important that young women who want the surgery should be able to get it for themselves and realize it’s ok and normal to have this done
Actually she does twerk. I can't remember where I saw it but I think it was at a Drake concert not sure. It's funny I like Ariel Winter and I love seeing how people react to her. When shes not showing too much skin and speaking well like in this interview people support her but when she's on social media being comfortable with her body, taking pics in bikinis, and cussing everybodys like "what a thot blah blah she wanna be black". Like wtf chill bruh haha.
If she was on Modern Family, then Ed O'Neill probably went to bat for her and taught her some things. He has a habit of stepping in and putting the kibosh on industry people pressuring female talent. He threatened to walk off Married...With Children because they were harassing Christina Applegate about her weight and he wasn't having it.
She’s so brave. Her mother going on Dr Phil and making her own accusations against Ariel really shows just how childish her mother is and how Ariel truly was a victim. Ariel is very dignified and respectful towards the case and not speaking out against her mother in details however her mother will not get her daughters money or fame anymore so her mother is trying to save face and prove that she can make her own money off her daughter without having contact with her. It’s so sad how parents can be with their own kids.
Have a lot of respect for Ariel. Sounds like she's had a rough childhood but she has turned into a smart, well-adjusted and independent young woman and although she's a few years younger than me is someone who I look up to for the way she carries herself.
I agree that she for the most part she has adjusted well with all the family hardships and being in the public eye since she was a young girl. That being said, I think lately with all her pictures that have been on the more revealing side that she is showing she is not as well adjusted as it would seem as well as wanting attention. She's a beautiful young woman so there is no doubt there but I think she's partly trying to distance herself from the character of Alex hence showing a lot more skin (very typical problem the Disney girls have when they grow up) and wanting some attention. I don't think she is as confident as she appears because few people are that confident especially at that age.
Sal Nal but doesn't every girl do that nowadays?! post revealing pictures on social media that is. I think the press dig into her for no reason, literally cant workout why, how is anything shes doing different to any other girl her age?
I couldn't agree more. I just recently heard of her troubles, but, as you said, the way she carries herself is already astounding for such an age, even much more for someone with that past. Some people crack, some people get amazingly strong. She's a true inspiration.
Asi Kla She really is. Its just a shame she gets scrutinised and slated so much in the media. Its wrong for them to do that to any celebrity but never mind a young woman who's just living her life not out looking to cause controversy. The headlines they come up with are just laughable.
Me either, I only noticed when I saw a picture of her with giant breast. I imagined that they were super uncomfortable so I searched to see if she had done a reduction surgery and she did. I'm so glad that she is comfortable with her self now.
I dealt with Ariel’s mom when she would come into Nordstrom in Glendale to buy Ariel’s makeup with Ariel. She was legit insane! I don’t doubt Ariel and her accusations for a second.

Being abused by your parents is rough. It never leaves you. Having it covered in public must be horrific. She presents herself with a lot of strength publicly. You just never know the trauma that she's experiencing behind closed doors. Well done to her for being so open about it. It shouldn't be a taboo. And, there really needs to be more external support in these situations.

@@jazzabighits4473 oh please you’re not an expert and large breasts can very well be hard to deal with. Whether socially or physically. If surgery would help I’d support the women who want breast reductions. I don’t see you going to hate on those who have breast implants and other beauty surgeries instead of those who need it to alleviate pain. Freaking ignorant woman.
Who the hell are you to give opinions on things ? Some people do undergo pain because of larger breasts. It was Ariel's wish that she got breast reduction. She ain't forcing you to do it. And you are so freaking 'envious' of her what is it to do with you huh? Mind your own business freak.
I love that she doesn't care about showing her scars. A lot of people get insecure and she is showing you can be confident, beautiful, sexy and dress exactly how you want and still rock it hardcore while showing your scars. Some people may try and put you down but scars are a part of your life journey, wear them with pride. She inspires me so much as someone who is currently on my confidence building journey.
@@jazzabighits4473 sure it’s great that she makes a lot of money, but that doesn’t make being forced into the public eye at a young age without her even wanting to any less sad.
Why are people talking about her like she increased her breasts size? She reduced them. She did not make them any bigger. She was umcomfortable with them being a size F, and she has every right to do something about it if she wanted to. She seems to be a very mature and well-spoken person. She deserves some respect for the decisons that she made. EDIT: There is nothing wrong with her wanting to increase her breast size if things were the other way around either. It’s her life and her body. It doesn’t affect anyone else but her. She gets to make the decisions.
tbh i feel like its kinda ignorant that a lot of people are supporting her but if she wanted to go up a cup or something i feel like she’d get a lot of hate. less boobs or more boobs i feel like people should be supported regardless of what they wanna do to their body, as long as it isn’t becoming addicting or worrisome for their health. glad she’s getting all this support and went through with it as she deserves too but i feel like if it was vice versa lots of people would be upset.

@@jazzabighits4473 So because people are born with scoliosis, they should just live with that excruciating pain everyday even though they can get surgery that will lessen the pain?
And of course we get the endless barrage of men in the comments thinking their own enjoyment is far more important than the horrific back and neck pain this woman lived with 24/7. Love that it's 2022 and men are still finding ways to constantly objectify women, and probably in the same breath claim we have nothing to complain about.

No but spiritually you are blind you can't even see whats there to be seen, You need Jesus Christ to save you from burning in Hell he is the only way to heaven
I must be the only one who can’t see her scars, she’s flawless nevertheless! No matter what she wears. Only she would know what’s good for her, not anyone else so I don’t mind at all she got a reduction surgery. If it’s better for her, let her be. She’s beautiful no matter what.

The whole modern family is a bunch of amazing people, I think that’s what even makes the show better, someone with kidney issues, someone with body issues, someone who’s gay, a minority, a immigrant and so on, all amazing. Also that’s sad, your mom is someone you need and lean on, I hope they can work it out.
So their struggles make them ''amazing''? That's some twisted logic, to equate someone's burderns to something positive. Illness does not make one ''amazing'', trust me... Also, it's not your place to have any ''hope'' for their reconciliation, you don't know if that's what Ariel needs so don't project.

Robert Bonardi before an interview nowadays questions are always checked before hand. If she wasn’t comfortable with talking about it she wouldn’t have done it. Even if they didn’t check the questions she could have got up and leave if she wasn’t fine with it wich would have been her right. Asking about stuff like this is an interviewers job so ur comment is quite unnecessary
Who tells someone to "put their scars away?" Like TF? Unless your scar is in the shape of a swastika I literally don't get why people think you should be embarrassed by them. I'm like of mine - even if they don't come from any heroic or uplifting story. Just coz you're insecure about your scars, don't put that on me.
There’s few things worse than a parent who thinks about their own desires more than their child. But there’s no denying that despite the obstacles, this child became a wonderful strong adult.
Trust me, it is! I'm a 36F and it's a NIGHTMARE. It's frustrating to try find a bra in that size too. Just wish I had the money for an operation. The girls that wish they had bigger boobs have no idea how much hell it is for us, lol.
It's sad, getting breast enhancement surgery is view as a positive. Breast reduction is taboo. I wish her all the luck in the world, people need to leave others alone.
I prefer the opposite It's okay to reduce them if they are causing you pain or suffering. But increasing them using silicon doesn't looks much intriguing to me.
What I love about this is she is the role model women and girls alike need. She is beautiful, yes, but her beauty stems from the inside first and foremost. She's considerate, articulate, intelligent, caring, kind, clever. All these traits need to be what's yelled on the red carpet far before "beautiful" does.
in this interview she literally addressed the issue of women being reduced to their looks and not to their actions. i feel like u didnt quite get the memo, she said very smart things and ur commenting on her nose contour?! like wtf

I would really like to appreciate the interviewer because she was so supportive of Ariel's every answer and didn't try to create drama when she said she didn't want to talk about. Really professional and sweet
Good for her!! I don't have the large breast problem, but I did have several fibroadenomas, which were incredibly painful on a daily basis for two and a half years. I had to fight my insurance and doctors to allow me to have them excised. I was told since they were not life threatening they could not substantiate surgery. Anger and frustration barely covered it. I finally won my case and had the surgery. How wonderful to finally be pain free. Breast tissue is very sensitive and abnormalities can irritate the tissue to the point that it becomes a daily focus. I'm very happy for her that she was able to do her reduction.
I also had a fibroadenoma removed! Could probably do with a breast reduction surgery too 😂 I'm so happy I got my fibroadenoma out, and the scar is completely faded now!
she asked about the abuse politely and politely resined from the topic when Ariel expressed discomfort on the subject. I see nothing wrong with "that old bat"
Ariel Winter is a very well spoken woman. I loved her character in Mkdern Family and I will like her characters in whatever show or movie she stars in here on out. She's a great actress and a terrific woman.
She's correct in her behaviour towards breast reduction, 40 years from now her back will be weak, shoulders sore. She is one of many and it's progressive!!! 20 years ago this was rare!
Thank YOU. I wanted a reduction for years as a teen.... I have lost a significant amount of weight and naturally saggy now.... this woman is amazing and so well spoken. Thank you for speaking up .
Our scars have the power to remind us that the past was real. Whether it's some kind of reconstructive surgery, other surgery, car accidents, or self-harm, it doesn't matter how you got them, but at least you are alive and you can now smile when you see those scars because you're alive and as bad as things seemed at the time, you've gotten through it. I remember a line from a movie where someone said "chicks dig scars". I have surgical scars, scars from injuries, and when I look at them I'm reminded of the pain at that time as well as the fact that I am truly a survivor. Back before we had the seat-belt law the car I was riding in t-boned an idiot who turned in front of us and I ate the windshield. I was still picking out shards of glass 3 months later. Thankfully those scars and most of the pain in my neck have faded quite a bit.
I am so proud of this young woman and taking the reigns of her own life for what she believes and not what Hollywood wants of every actress or singer. Kudos to you for emancipating from your controlling mom.
