Glad to see that Indian creators like you are exposing dark sides of k-pop in front of Indian k-pop fans. As a k-pop fan myself I can clearly say this industry isn't that colorful and perfect as it looks. The reality behind cameras are really dark and some toxic fan and haters makes it even worst.

As a kpop stan for 6+ years, I agree with everything you said, companies know that there are plenty of people who wanna be idols so they don't bother to take care of their current idols, trainees are usually kept in basement, these idols have to go through inhuman treatment and now kpop is getting weirder because 13yr old kids are debuting, they even sexualize these kids , and trust me when I say it's always the fandom that causes chaos in idols life , people start hating an idol just because they are dating, it's totally toxic

Every K-pop fan or the one who is becoming should watch this. It's okay to like & support whoever or however you want but when it reaches unhealthy obsession or toxicity then there's a huge problem in your life.

I really do not get the over-obsessive behaviour of such K-Pop fans that leads them to getting plastic surgery just to look like their favourite artist. Thoughtless decisions like these can actually ruin one's life and future. Just be yourself and support your favourite artists peacefully without being toxic and over-obsessive towards them.

Points you forgot to add negative ~ idol shipping - K-pop fans tend to ship two idols (romantically) be it the same or different gender aegyo - idols are expected to act cute in front of their fans even grown adults 20-30yr old, K-pop fans tend to babying the idols(luckily this is changing as idols are refusing to act cute or babylike). Newgen - idols at young ages such as 10/11 y/o are expecting their debut which is literally not good, it gives exploration vibes good points fandoms- kpop fandoms make huge donation and help in times of disasters with donations and trends that helps in changing the society songs - 80% of these kpop songs are good and meaningful (unlike other artist which make songs on drgs, girls , s3x ) autotune- very less idols use auto tune ( which makes sense cause they train for many years )

To be honest I am obsessed with BTS and especially RM but my obsession is not for their personal life but for their thoughts on different topics and issues. I always fascinated by RM and his personality,his thoughts.

i completely agree with everything he said in this video but i also believe that due to the increasing awareness of this toxicity things have started to change a lot. nowadays you can see the fans bashing these companies for being too harsh with the idols, for forcing ridiculous rules upon them, not taking proper responsibility of their idols and being careless. many fans also report toxic stans on the internet. and most fans do not tolerate if their idol's privacy is being invaded by some toxic fan. and i've noticed that dating culture is actually being praised now that many international fans have joined this community so you can see that most of the fandom is actually quite supportive of their idols dating someone. many idol groups have pressed charges against their companies and so many idol are now sharing their experiences, so i do believe that thing are actually changing for good

i really loved your video harsh and I want to tell that when I entered Kpop 3 years back and was a newbie I thought how they are so slim and good looking and can have everything they want but the reality was something else and even harsher than I imagined. You should also include about how idols debut at the young age like 12 to 15 or even more younger the training period also because if they are debuting at age btw 12 to 15 they have to start training at more young age in which they lose golden years of their life and also how some idols drop out of the school because of pressure

Bitter Truth. Many kpop idols commit suicide just because of uncaring agencies and toxic stans. As a hardcore stan It's break my heart whenever I see those toxic and delusional fans😔....Some crazy stans even invades their privacy and give death threats on dating rumors. This is coming from someone who got to do the research project on topic of 'BTS, KPop and Hallyu (Korean) wave'. This video provides half knowledge about the things mentioned about KPop industry. It's not updated. For eg. 1. DATING LIFE: Usually KPop idols are not allowed to date for first 3 to 4 years of debut apparently, so that they don't loose their focus as most of the KPop stars are teenagers at that time. After that, KPop idols' dating life is kept as a secret. Dawn and Hyuna's case was an exception because they were in the Cube Entertainment (allegedly the worst company for artists) which gave in to the demands of some obsessed fans over their so many supportive fans. 2. CONTROL OVER ARTISTS' LIFE: It is true that KPop companies control their artists' lives to a great extent but that was more for 2nd generation groups. Now they are lenient. And there are ultimate exceptions like PNation, BigHit Entertainment (BTS' company) which have been lenient towards their artists from the very start and took care of their artists' wishes/sentiments rather than straight out controlling them. ( I consider BigHit's good and considerate treatment towards BTS as one of the important factors of BTS' massive success.) 3. TOXIC / OBSESSED FANS: KPop fans are not some "obsessed 15 - 16 yr old girls" There are many toxic / obsessed KPop fans like the ones shown in the video but they are NOT the MAJORITY. 18+ people constitute atleast 50% of the fandoms. For instance, if we look into A.R.M.Y fandom, it is the only KPop fandom that have run more than 600 charity projects in the name of BTS. Indian BTS fans raised $29000 in just 24 hours for covid patients and many more. The toxic and immature fans are usually the most evident/visible & loudest especially on social media because of which MAJORITY of the fandom who are normal fans , just appreciate their work & support their artists, (irrespective of their age and gender) are often overshadowed.

This topic is very important, its not just the company restricting their idols but also us, their very own fans. We want them perfect, we want them ready to be dated. Kpop fans fantasize about their idols being their partner. The fan fiction community is crazy. And when an idol reveal his/her relationship they get more hate than cheers some careers are ruined due to them just dating (exactly what happened to chan from exo, the hate he got was crazy). If an idol gains some weight, we label them ugly and say they stopped taking care of themselves. If we, fans stop doing this and accept idols as humans the companies will do the same.at the end of the day its us for whom the idols and the company is working for, we are the market. As a kpop fan we all knew this and nothing is new, but the title should be dark side of K-pop. Not BTS. No doubt you put it for views. Haters and fans. BTS were rookies, they didn't go for 3 giant agencies. They made their own agency/label. And they do have restrictions but these 7 members are extremely humble at the same time bold enough to speak their minds. As a fan of music world, i know that 99% of the things he said is true. Kpop is now all about looks and and body shape. Also many of them commite suicide because of many pressure. I am very old BTS army so i know about it very well. Kpop is became a cringe now not only because of this but also because of fanwars. Look there are many fandoms in kpop and they all fight each other for there favs not only kpop fandom but the crazy fans of Western industries are also involved in disturbing algorithm. I am so deep in this music industry ocean. People enjoy music but they don't know about it's dark side. Awards like mtv and grammys are mostly based on some unfair things. Jungkook topic - When mamber of BTS jeon jungkook's fake dating rumours became aired many of his fans were upset . I am using fams because many of them was solo stans which we BTS army call obsessed or sasang. These people became so obsessed with there idols. And when thses fake photo came out some of solo stans became very obsessed and cutted their hands look not all girls have cutted their hands they posted pictures from Google. Yah it came to everyone when a community of BTS army posted it. Back to the time when rumours were spreading jungkook came and apologize to the fans about it and said " i am sorry i made you upset because of untrue rumours". Look as he said fandoms are really strong so yah when the BTS army knew that jungkook have apolised even nothing was his fault they came together and banned all the accounts which have posted something like which is about cutting hands for jungkook. Then BTS army now came to hybe label (BTS entertainment) and then BTS army made them to post report about everything. Ofcause they have to do because yah it's BTS army. Not only this BTS army always made donation on there idols bithday. Like for Cancer patients, children with disabilities and for the old person who have no one look for them . Not only this They also started a camp for corona patients. But these all things never highlighted because everyone looks down on us. If BTS mamber donate anywhere army also donate there. Actually in entrainment industry things works like that. Even if you see any corporate job,you are actually is a slave. So if you want to a make life, you have to sacrifice something And for BTS,they have their own equal shares in hybe for each of the members which means they are not slave. I love watching BTS's videos and they're very creative, they went through almost 90% things, except plastic surgery, their faces were examined by plastic surgeons and he stated that their pre debut faces and new faces are almost similar without any cosmetic or drastic changes, the contract is actually true thing and many members were asked to lose weight on an extreme level which makes me super sad, most of your points are accurate, thankful BTS is a group ruling their company and is free to write and publish their own songs and content, they love and inspires their armys on a huge level and that's why they're standing out of the crowd.

All idols have had it tough in the early days especially BTS they had nothing also company’s making them diet is wrong . And many do start out really young Jungkook was 15 when he joined BTS . Jimin He went on a diet in which he wouldn't eat a proper meal for 9 days ( which is basically almost starving himself ) then on the 10th day, he would eat a meal, in addition, he would drink lots of water and practice dancing for hours and hours and hours. He was constantly fainting, according to other members, which is normal because his body didn't have enough energy. His members would tell him to eat but he would refuse to do so. Also he fainted on stage at fan meeting on Osaka in 2015. The company’s need to stop forcing them to do this it’s wrong . No idol should put their body through that it’s dangerous and many fans followed Jimin ‘s diet and they shouldn’t. Jimin said he did it to be more handsome but he’s already handsome he dieted during his shoot for set me free part 2 as well. He didn’t eat until the end of the shoot . Also J Hope fainted from exhaustion on the filming for the mv boy with luv he didn’t rest at all the whole day he had to go the hospital to get an IV. Also Jungkook also passed out on stage when they was on tour in chile he was not well. They work too hard all idols need a break in between being a idol is very tough on them no matter if they are younger or older. It takes a toll on their mental health I’m glad BTS are having a long break they need they been working non stop for 10 years. Being a idol you got to wake up really early you don’t get to sleep properly you get only a few hours about 3 or 4 hours . You always have to to dance practise a lot and doing that all the time in one day is tiring and causes exhaustion . And always have to do video shoots that takes up the whole of the day they is so much they have to do. They have to have their hair and make up done etc by the end of the shoot it’s morning or late at night so then they have to get up early again the next day . And they have too interviews too etc it’s all frustrating and stressful .BTS made big hit what it is they saved the company. Big hit was nearly broke . BTS made the company better. Also Another group Big Bang also come from nothing too they had no money either to eat properly. they joined YG at a younger age. Taeyang was just 13 when he joined the company. Gd and Taeyang both spoke about their bad living conditions they lived in as trainees they had it tough too like BTS. They They also slept in a tiny room as well they YG didn't have a big budget to manage properly their trainee back then. It's not that YG didn't invest in their trainee -_- There was a little restaurant near the dorm that always letting the members eat for free since they really got no money to eat. They were openly begging to their manager. For being able to traine properly ,GD heat in the microwave a chocopie since with the heat, it's becomes more sweet and then it gave him more energy to train. That was the reality of BB. No idol should have to live like that when becoming an idol they shouldn’t have to go through all then struggles it’s unfair.
