Alright, after watching the first video you have of the let's play of DSIII, my conclusion is 1. There are youtubers that play a game and have viewers that only come for the game, and there're those that have a fanbase that doesn't care what game they play and come for their personality. I'd say you're half and half right now. you have a lot of potential to have great commentary, but i feel it mostly consists of lackluster "oh i'm doing this now, Rawr killed a guy, ah stupid bich hit me." type of stuff. Make the commentary about a subject while you're playing the game and people will want to stick around longer. A perfect example of this is +TheUrbanOrb he's heralded for his dark souls skills but at the same time people watch his videos of his playthrough in NG7 because his commentary is top tier. always has thoughts about something, and the way he explains his thoughts is captivating. 2. alot of what i could say is about improvement. over time you'll improve and become better, and i realize that. But you might want to facilitate the way you and your channel grows. What i mean by that is you want to play a game because people know you for it. It helps grow a channel if they stick with a game they're known for. But at the same time sticking with a game and then switching halfway through at a point where people don't watch your videos for you is a problem. So what i'd suggest is, i see you have a few minecraft videos on your channel. Play dark souls mainly, or if you wish to, play minecraft mainly. But have a healthy amount of other stuff on your channel so that people know you're not always gonna be playing dark souls. it'll create a fanbase but at the same time you can probably switch at any time if you ever get popular.

Thanks for the suggestion and thoughtful critique! It is the first constructive suggestion I have received since attempting a series in earnest, and means a lot to me. I am going to give a couple things a go and see how they fit.

I know this is an old comment, but, this is an old video as well, even in relation to the comment. The video was uploaded in 2011. At this point in RU-vids history, 720p was just becoming the standard for RU-vid videos. And they had just increased the video time limit from 10 minutes to *15* minutes the year before, for non partners. It was just normal for this quality of video at the time. While I agree the content is great enough to be worthy of so many views and thumbs up regardless of quality... I doubt it would be so well received if uploaded today, or even at the time of your comment.

Lol, I discovered this way as well. And if you have homeward bones (which are very cheap) your farm will be even faster. And even more than that, there are big mushrooms a little bit further which drop guaranteed golden pine resin which gives a big boost to the damage. And even more than that if you have a ring giving more souls the farm is ridiculously fast

AydarBMSTU except that the mushroom parents in NG+ will nearly one shot you

MyZCube well yeah, even on NG they are scary, however it's not that hard to dodge their attacks (they have like 2 types of attack, slow attack and an even slower one followed by another hit). I don't remember now, but I think that it's possible to block their attacks

AydarBMSTU blocking their attack will most likely still break your shield. ONE of the normal slow attack which they can even chain into TWO attacks is 70% of your hp on NG+ with smough's armor while the slower one with wind up is an instant one shot. so even if you dodge them it's not that safe of a farming technique.

overall i heard phalanx is quicker for exp souls, but the soul drops really do push this above it, thanks.

Ok but where you get that sword sweeping location ?

use symbol of avarice, evel eye ring will compensate health loss(if it's not enough use leeroy shield) you'll get 20% more souls and most humanities you can (covetus and avarise item discovery does not stack)

In 10 minuts 20 humanities.

Get the lord vessel first so you can warp :P it's a life saver late game.

Combo this with crystal soul spear, crystal catalyst, crown of dusk, bellowing ring, and symbol of avarice. Symbol of avarice + silver serpent ring + overkilling by 50% of enemy max hp gives a huge boost. 50 int crystal soul spear with crystal catalyst, magic booster equips and power within will overkill guardians for like 7777 souls

I dont like those guys because they always stab me too much.

Pinkie Pie just get them to turn in your direction and then run around the whole group. They're way too slow to turn with you so you can easily kill them from behind. If they made their way around and start stabbing you again, just repeat and make another turn around them.

Thx i been using the Cat Covenant guards for farming after getting seriously bored i tried the blobs was alot faster and easier and got more souls from them. ran around them with lock on threw 4 chaos fireballs as i ran only leave 3 or 4 for a fast stab job done so thanks.

allrequiredfields on the up side, once you found the bonfires you can teleport to many hard to reach places. still it's quite a walk to bosses sometimes

well getting to ash lake the first time must be hard and tedious. Once you get the lordvessel you can simply warp back to it...

Yeah, just picked that up, so I feel like a bit of a tard for complaining.

2 months later everyone agree's that Dark Souls 2 is a flop.
