If you didn't know there's an expected "honour system" in this area. If you fight the drakek keeper knights( big suits of armour) you get ever one on the stairs to bow to you and let you face the champion (dual wielding) one on one. If you run past any of the drake keepers, or summon a white phantom (gold Is okay) they all turn hostile.

He's also not weak to fire, like someone apparently told Zanny. He is immune to poison, resistant to dark, and weak to nothing. Fire buffing weapons can make the weapon itself do more damage though.

I remember killing the ancient dragon by using a shield with the highest fire res in the game, with flashsweat pyromancy, and just tanking the flames. I think i probably used a lightning winged spear or lightning rapier or something too. Lightning fucks dragons up, both canonically and in gameplay.
