Just so you don’t waste your time cutting the tail randomly; in order to get the sword, you have to cut the end of it off, that’s why he was waiting for like 30 seconds at times in this video so the tail would be exposed and not inside the walls of the arena
That's the most infuriating aspect of this fight. It's actually a relatively easy fight if you upgrade Strength, Intelligence and Endurance up to 50 and equip the Cursebite Ring. However, trying to actually cut his back tail off sucks because he either always keeps turning around or tries to whack you with his tails.
Eh Meh Smeh i do wish darkeater midir’s souls only gave the katana and then you had to cut off his tail for like the old moonlight spell just as like a little tribute to the mechanic
Have you noticed that every Moonlight Greatsword in the SoulBorne series is associated with grotesque ish monsters like the freja from Dark souls 2 or Ludwig from Bloodborne

@@blink182sucks I mean, in her ending she quite literally brings humanity under the light of the moon. Either she considers it a symbol of freedom from the Greater Will, or the Moon Presence’s younger brother is up there watching her.
@@WagnerWolf7.62 What weapon were you using? Cause if you were using a weapon like a hammer or something like that you aren't gonna cut it off, since Hammer and weapons like it don't deal Slash damage, or just wouldn't cut even irl.
@@WagnerWolf7.62 I couldn’t get it off either but I think it’s because I was hitting the base of his tail and not more towards the thinner end. So maybe try that next time?
@@m3x_repel its a long time ago but iirc i just ended up using the lightning spear+10 you get from sens fortress. I dont remember breaking it with sorcery
Problem is that if you want the moonlight great sword, you probably have a magic build, and seath is extremely resistant to magic. It took me about 30 minutes to chip away at his tail with the moonlight spear.
tried this strat but he never used the attack you bated and just slowly followed me without attacking for like 10 minutes then swung his tail 3 times and killed me :)
best way on getting the tail (in my opinion) is this video and keeping the crystal at the back of the room unharmed till you get it. Also thanks for the help ^_^
So,this is THE Moolight GS?Been forever since i played the original but seems i remember you were supposed to talk to a guy that had it and do some sort of questline for him.I do remember there was a fake MLGS though.Playing through the remaster now and i have to say this looks easy and makes me happy.
Bryan Manning Well, I think the fake Moonlight Greatsword is only in the second game, Benhard of Jugo has it. In DS 2, you get the real one by killing Freja in NG+
Pro tip, get him to come to you and he'll actually attack his own crystal, giving you more time to get to the tail. Especially if you start running AS SOON AS he winds up his attack
I've only hit his tail, but I didn't got it :/ Not sure, but I guess I need to stick to the end of his tail But it's sad it's gonna take another whole NG to try again.
@@abhauppal1703 first playthrough i wasn't even thinking about get the Dark Soul Achievement, second i killed him and didnt got his tail and third i got it.
I got that once, when I had to get everything for completionist steam achievements, but I have no idea how the fuck I did it. Seems like something I'll never want to retry..
I don’t know if anyone is still playing this but really would appreciate if someone could drop a moonlight great sword for me on Xbox. Cut the tail and got the pick up notification, I was overburdened so couldn’t pick it up, got my weight down and it vanished. Can drop any of the others if you need them as I have everything including the trident.
Another garbage fromsoft mechanic. Lets lock one of the best int weapons behind a boss that requires you to melee off the tail, and lets put it behind one of the most annoying azz boss runs. No, thats not enough, lets throw 20 clams in front of the fog gate. Seath isnt even a hard boss. Gave up trying to get the sword and just killed him in about 20 seconds.
