AverageAsianMe it should be, I already own it on 360 and Ps3 there's not even a slight discount for people who already own the game, I hate to say it but fromsoft did this as a clear cut cash grab, nothing really changed except better performance and graphics, it's a shame but still worth playing, at least you get the dlc.

Aron 2018 it's much slower than bloodborne but they're pretty similar you'll most likely love it as well.

He was annoying but took no more than 6 7 times. Still stupid and annoying like i said. But that's not too bad. I've played alot of platformers like r&c, prince of persia, j&d, shinobi, megaman zero.

@CYKA BLYAT95 Capra surprisingly got me maybe 7 to 10 times. Most problematic for me had to have been Taurus(this is my first ds game), Artorias and Bed of Chaos. I honestly died more to level terrain, normal enemies and cliffs.

Lost Izalith in general needs to be cut or drastically redesigned. That goes beyond the scope of a re-master though.

@@bizmonkey007 You can't just cut Lost Izalith, if Lost Izalith was a tiny area with no Lord Soul, they would have cut it. You can't do that to such an important area, especially lore wise.

Because those things aren't part of the original. Sure they're cool in the newer games, but that isn't necessary here. If you take Dark Souls for what it is and want to preserve it, the only things you can alter are technical issues. And those were all fixed.

There are soo many problems with ds 1

Crazed Jitler Crappy bosses, too much ganking, clunky combat, adaptability stat, the world though less linear is still not detailed like ds3/Bloodborne/Dark souls and crappy level design. I love dark souls 2 but when taking a look at it objectively, I don't see how it holds up any better than either ds1/ds3.

Crazed Jitler 1) That's subjective, I thought even sir alonne was a bad boss, heck the only boss that interested me in Ds2 is fume Knight and that's mostly because I like his fumeknight ultra great sword a lot. 2)"Ganking just like every other souls game", nonsensical argument, just because every souls game has ganking doesn't mean that every souls game throws the same amount of enemies at you, Ds2 is noted for throwing 20-30 enemies at a single time, especially the area before blue smelter demon, I never had this problem in other souls games. 3)"You get used to it", nonsensical argument again, I played the game for a year and half and still didn't get "used to it", it still feels clunky and floaty. That completely depends on the person. For you, that might be true but not for me and other people. 4)I will take removal of poise anyday over the adaptability stat, but that's subjective. My comment wasn't meant to be an arguement, so I don't care if you think it's invalid or not. 5) The first four hours of any game differs from person to person, for me I only had problems in ds3 in areas catacombs, demon ruins and irithyll. Mostly because they were too linear for even ds3 standards. Again I will warn you, my first comment wasn't meant to be an arguement I just expressed my point of view, most internet arguements especially on games/animes are useless, you can't argue about a topic that's mostly subjective, that's why most end up in insults because one of the person arguing gets impatient. We will be wasting both our time and will never achieve the conclusion.

Actually DS3 replay value is completely garbage in my opinion, these days when ever I start DS3, I get bored of playing it. That's a huge advantage for ds2/Ds1.

@@placeholder7747 I'm not replying out of hate, I'm not sure what a Jitler is but you are certainly crazed of you think DS2 is better than DS3. To be fair, I quit after defeating the punisher as my character was hollowed out and I had no effigies and no desire to push on. But that's the thing, Bloodborne was my first FS game and it beat me down and dragged me around the block but I had this indomitable desire to kill what killed me, every time. So upon beating that I see Dark Souls 2&3 bundled for the low price of 40$ and I LOVED Bloodborne so I started right off with Dark Souls 2. I tried 5 different characters, wallthroughs and strats and could not manage to do anything but painfully slog my way to the pursuer. And for some reason he put me to the dirt more than any boss to date, except for Ludwig solo. I hate the hollowing system, it's the worst game mechanic I think I've EVER seen. Dark Souls is already a challenging game and they want to make it harder by chipping your healthbar away every time you die down to 50% HP? Garbage. Especially considering how clunky and slow it plays even at 60 FPS. I gave this game maximum effort and I hate it more than any game I've ever played except Duke Nukem Forever and Ninja Gaiden 3. So I thought fuck that lets try Dark Souls 3. And while I wasn't blown away like Bloodborne, I had a significantly easier time with DS3 than BB and especially DS2. Im picking up DSR ttoday so I'm hoping I can adjust to the slower pace but it cant be as bad as DS2

In my opinion DS3 was by far the worst. By the time I got the platinum trophey and a super high level character, playing it was just so boring. Dark souls 1 and 2 are to me the only ones that I can play over and over again without getting sick of. With the dead servers of 1 up till now, I see dsr as an opportunity to keep playing my second favourite game (after 2)

Dark Souls 3's Bosses are a lot more complex than Dark Souls 1's. went back a while ago and OnS was a total joke. only reason why Dark Souls 1 might be harder is because the level design is more brutal. there isnt an equivalent to sens fortress, blighttown or the anor londo archers in DS3 which is kind of sad. till today I am waiting for an area which challenges me like theese did. The bloodborne dlc came very close. This is also my biggest problem with DS2. the difficulty is mostly determined by the number of enemies thrown at you.

for me there are mainly three things which annoy me: 1. the world could have been done better, once you understand how everything connects and you are skilled enough to beat dancer early it is more fun but untill then everything seems very linear, secondly, armor doesnt have enough impact. In Dark Souls 1 it feels ery differently playing with fast roll and no poise, mid roll and weak poise and slow roll and strong poise. in Dark Souls 3 slow roll just isnt viable, and everything below that feels the same. And lastly meanwhile the enemys are much more fun to fight, I miss the traps from Dark Souls 1. there wasnt a single moment when the area itself challenged me. my dream would be a game where you travel through sens fortress but at the top the Dragon slayer armor is waiting for you.

@@AAAAAA-ow2nq Dark souls 3 never gets boring for me. The new weapons are way better than 1 and 2. I perfer that dark souls 3 is way more fast pace and has better boss fights than the other souls games. Gael was such an awesome boss fight

Vooligan I have to disagree, I think the actual feel/gameplay of dark souls 1 was great as it was in single player, yet agreeably the pvp could be improved. dead angles (fixed) chain backstabs (not fixed) but it never hampered my enjoyment as much as some of the bs in dark souls 3 (infinite rolls ugh, poise?boring meta ect) and it depends on who your up against and how cheap they are. I personally don't feel the need for multi directional rolls ect as its a game of its time and later entries implemented such mechanics. Im more disappointed they didn't take the visuals further but as a console gamer 60fps and full servers will be enough for a repurchase. Dark souls 2 will always be the best for pvp anyway. I cant wait to jump back in haha.

everything til ornstein and smough and the dlc are really fking good though, they just fucked up at the end. Still my favorite soul game though.

Arne Verschoor I liked duke's archives. New londo ruins, tomb of giants and demon ruins were decent as well. I don't get why everyone hates them.

Miko Hietala dark souls 2 is the best

Unbalanced PVP, phantoms using 99 humanity, easy to max out armor and weapon early in the game, Lost Izalith, level design goes to shit after Anor Londo, broken/useless covenants, majority of bosses are just a big guy with 3 physical attacks, broken backstabs, slow ass clunky combat and armor weight balance.... I take Scholar of The First Sin anytime over this wreck of a game.

A majority of the bosses are just a big guy? Umm no. That was the case in DS2, there were waaaay more bosses who were just "large humanoid #52" Combat isn't clunky, it's defined. You push a button, you make the action, if you meant to hit a different button, well that's on you. Maxing armor and weapons early isn't broken, it's a testament to how nonlinear the game actually is, and is a true test of skill and pattern recognition. I agree with most of the other things you said.

It is as close to near perfect as a game can get despite its issues. It is the whole picture that counts, not what we try to deconstruct. It is the epitomy of the phrase "more than the sum of its parts".

To be honest I'd say your only half right. Mostly this game was brought to new consoles because so many people missed it the first time. Many people were just introduced to Souls with Bloodborne or Dark Souls 3. This is a game for them and I couldn't be happier that more people get to experience this masterpiece of game design. Yes I would have loved so more changes to appeal to Souls veterans but I'll take what I can get. Hopefully From shows us more of their new game at E3. I'm excited for what's next from the Souls formula

VARG You mean 7 years ago, the game came out in 2011 for consoles. The Dark Souls PTDE came out in 2012 for PC and was a complete joke of a port.

Beat the remastered. Beat ds3 4 times and halfway thru scholar of the first sins as im typing and I got to say ds3 is by far my favorite

@@tywins3669 I would say DS1, if you haven't finished DS3 yet. DS2 is actually a fair bit slower than DS1, so coming from DS3, I would choose the first game just so it's not a drastic change of pace.

The argument against that could be that people who are picking it up for the first time won't get to experience it the way it was created.

If you could tolerate the second half of DS1, then you would view it as perfect. I enjoyed how different DS1's second half felt compared to the first, since I had played DS3 just before DS1. It was a nice change of pace, even if there was a noticeable drop in quality.

Blade Well if you're on PC they removed the original from the store. They never once patched the original on PC, and still charges you 20 bucks to buy the game again even though it's hardly an upgrade at all from dsfix. So you either buy it or stay with your outdated version which will inevitably die because nobody can buy it anymore.

Now that is a fair and valid complaint. That sucks for the PC guys who bought this game once and have to deal with that debacle.

If you truly love Bloodborne YOU SHOULD NOT get Dark Souls Remaster. Dark Souls 1 is really bad when comparing to DS2 , DS3 or Bloodborne.

@@KapitanPazur1 Dark Souls 1 is slightly better than DS3 because of it's world building and not having to go back to the firekeeper every time you want to level up. DS3 and Bloodborne have better bosses overall, since Seath doesn't exist, Moonlight butterfly doesnt, Pinwheel doesn't... you know. DS1 is a masterpiece just as much as Bloodborne is. The combat is slower for a reason, the only reason why the combat in DS3 is so fast paced was because in Bloodborne they learned that you can make a bosses attacks much more complex if you give the player more opportunity to evade.

So how was your experience with it? I've been playing it for the first time and honestly I can't understand why people ride this game so hard. The combat is just terrible to me and so far the game just gets on my nerves. I thought I would enjoy it since I fell in love with Bloodborne, but boy this game is just a chore to get through right now.

It hasn´t been remastered by From, it´s another studio that did the remastering (I dunno the name, I think it´s the one that also did Dragon´s Dogma) for Bandai Namco, so no need to blame From, they´re working on more new games.

yeah but they still give a go to this remaster, and they probably saw what direction remaster trying to take. I don't expect Shadow of Collossus level, but i do not expect a 7year old port to new gen systems either. I really love From, they absolutely top5 for me, but for the first time they drop the ball on this.

okay, tho i do believe From was in some kind of way involved in the process of developing this, and they have to agreed to the direction that remastering team was taking. But even if they have nothing to do with this, my point is that saying there is nothing to improve is incorrect, there is a ton to improve after 7 years, just in visuals department. And i believe that the score is more based on the game, than on remaster itself. In my opinion it is one of the worst remasters made.

Bandai Namco credits From software as the developer on their website. I dont see any mention of any other studio. ""Dark Souls™: Remastered & ©BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Inc. / ©2011-2018 FromSoftware, Inc"" Surely if another studio did the work they would be credited? From what I read some Polish studio worked on it QLOC or something but I dont see any reference to them on the B/N site. Shame the people that do the work dont get the credit

U do realize it comes out on Friday? That's not really a long time. Also they get those games early so reviews can be done and released well before it's out. That way u can know what you are buying. When a developer purposely doesn't give review copies until the last minute that's when it's a cause of concern because it could mean they aren't confident in the product.
