Can someone help me? Poison arrows will not cause poison if stats are too low to wield the bow, they just do 1 HP damage, like wooden arrows (which are the cheapest, weakest arrows). Unfortunately, I can't understand what stats are required. I have 67 Strength, 13 Dexterity, 9 Intelligence and 9 Faith. I'm using the short bow btw. In case it's relevant Shortbow ParamBonus Strength D Dexterity A Intelligence - Faith - ReqParam 7 12 0 P EDIT: Apparently all i needed to do was throw some arrows consecutively. Find a spot where R1 (not held) will hit him with an arrow. Then mash the R1 button to throw around 5. Maybe that'll work. Found this online: "Just like the chosen undead, enemies have a poison meter. poison arrows fill up so much of that meter each hit, and when it maxes the meter out, the enemy becomes poisoned and starts taking 2-3 damage per tick until the meter runs out (the same way you take poison damage until your meter resets back to zero)." It takes me 7 poison arrows with the short bow, whether held or instantly thrown, to fill his poison meter and get him poisoned. It does 535 damage when u wait it out. This is just what happens to me. He has supposedly 3432 hp total in NG. I used 52 mistakes but if i knew what i was doing id have onlt used 49 Btw if u quit the game to the main menu and re-enter, his health will refill. I threw some arrows, then quit outside the game, reentered, went through the gate to see his HP and that's how i tested it. Or maybe it was just entering the gate that caused his HP to refill.
Poison has a buildup effect. It just takes a while before it activates. Also the shortbow is a dex based weapon. If need be upgrade it before trying again, but even 1 dmg with poison arrows should be good
Takes 7 arrows to do around 550 poison damage. So do 7 shots then wait until posion stops,, then do 7 more then wait then 7 more to get him to half health
