I like this format a lot. Might not be the crunchiest of speedruns but us plebs can actually use some of these strategies ourselves. The sens skip for instance just isn't something I'd ever put into my normal runs but all of this is great. Liked the music choice too, gg.
I love watching this so much. I remember the first time playing ds1 and feeling like the world was MASSIVE and everything was connected like it was a real region of different areas that were influencing each other, it felt epic. Now I'm older and seeing how small (but still interconnected) everything is. Quelagg is just a few elevator rides and a sens fortress raid away from reaching Anor Londo and having a chat with Gwyndolin xD. Also reaching Anor Londo in 20 minutes is my new personal goal in this game.
@@SantanaSasquatch are we watching the same video? this is a glitchless run category, you probably are thinking of him using game mechanics instead of actual glitches
@@xslite300 Calling it a glitchless speedrun does not make it glitchless. Constant save-quitting is not a game mechanic, and neither is jumping off the map at 4:00 to reach lower undead burg before you are ever intended to reach that area. The only way you can call this a "glitchless" speedrun is if you define it as a speedrun with "less glitches"
@@awesomethecool its a glitch jumping over an edge? it would be different if there was an invisible wall, i think you're a little confused on what is a glitch
@@xslite300 To reach the lower undead burg in the way the developers intended, you need the basement key. That jump is not a "game mechanic" it is a spot where the developers forgot to put a death barrier. Call it an exploit or whatever definition you need to call it "glitchless", but it is definitely not an intended skip. Jumping over a wall where you clearly are not supposed to doesn't make it any less of a glitch than jumping backwards through walls in Super Mario 64.
15:57 A Demon-witch being witch-slapped right in her face, staggered so much in contemplation of what just happened to her, that she forgot how to use her many-legged imposing posture to at least jump back, jump aside or something, by the time she realized, the second bell is already ringed. 26:46 Our hero, the unclothed thief who decided to be a sorcerer instead, challenged the notorious golden duo, the guardian of the Goddess of Sunlight, The Ornate-Stain and The Smug, and defeated them with not much struggle at all. 29:30 Instead of going after the Great Souls' possessors, our hero went straight to teach the Dark Sun Goddess a lesson of not to trick people with a fake sunlight, then how to properly use sorcery and obviously a lesson of how to properly witch-slap, in this case Goddes-sslap, right on the face. 35:14 Stumbled willingly upon a canvas world, our hero came home quickly with an apology to the host, The Half-Breed Dragon Goddess with a face resembles a Feline, and a weapon resembles a Mantis. 42:04 Here's our thief-sorcerer paid a visit to the Knight of the Abyss, but his loyal Wolifu wouldn't let anyone to touch the sole memento of the Knight, the Inconsistently-sized Humongous Great Sword specially designed for young knights aged between 6-10. 43:01 Here's how to not impose as a boss against our hero. 48:03 The Duke of Lordran, the boneless, the actionless, the Great Octopus-Seath 51:12 Sanctuary Gattling Bolt 57:15 The well-aimed Dark-piercing Face-slaps to teach a lesson; Do not install tail light in the front-side too many, Manus! It is against the traffic law! 1:02:55 Our hero defeated the Half-Four Kings, yes, they are only two now, I wonder why the other two won't come out to face our hero here. Even the second one was so reluctant to emerge. 1:17:05 The Blazing "Not-again" Erdtree Avatar before the time Queen Marika becomes the Homeward Boner King 1:23:15 The God, being God-slapped so hard; I believe that His ear is ringing still Excellent run!
There is room for so many categories in speeding this. And they are all legitimately interesting. We could see no magic, no resets, each one could allow leveling or not…
At the start of the run you seemed kind of cocky but by 15:20 i saw your attention to detail when the minute difference between 4 and 5 second jump in Blighttown costed you health. Your expression was genuine. I have nothing but respect for your glitchless run and chat did not understand that
This is an incredible achievement and something I would never even dream of attempting but I was hoping glitchless wouldn’t mean exploiting features never intended as game mechanics. Whatever you call the title screen resets. Would be dope to see a resetless run
You need to equip the Sword Hilt in the left hand and press attack while moving forward. Should work with every sword type if not in a speedrun scenario tho.
I really enjoyed this run I’m thinking of getting into speed running soul series love the first game what route should I learn first? Glitchless seems right up my alley but would it benefit me more to learn a better route
It really depends on what is the most fun for you honestly. If this category seems to appeal to you, go for it! You can join the speedsouls website/discord for info and help if you want, its a really awesome community. Im currently not active btw.
Aww why not yeah I’m actually starting to practice and using your video as a template I’m getting to the skip and down to lower burg consistently but I keep on dying I really enjoyed this run and would like to see more DSR runs from you if you ever get time. Thank you for the response have a good day
You habe to exhaust his dialogue options, talking to him like 2-4(?) times until he repeats the same line. When I started this category I actually lost 2-3 runs to this and never forgot again haha.
Could have avoided the second trip through Blighttown by grabbing thr Daughter of Chaos bonfire after ringing the second bell. After nuking Nito, Homeward Bone to bonfire and warp to Daughter of Chaos, then continue run.
Generally if you aren't confident with RTSR I'd say sorcery is one of your strongest options. Rushing darkbead melts every boss in the game. Damage with dusk crow and dragon crest ring is insane.
@@tylereaton4066 Cheers. I'll give that a try at some point. I think I will try to do hitless eventually. First I want to finish Elden Ring and Sekiro. Hopefully I'll get there within the next decade. 😉
So I'm following along with this speedrun and attempting it myself, and I'm confused how you have 78000 souls between killing the moonlight butterfly, plus sif and priscilla's soul? because I have 3800 after the fact, and I know you dark signed after Sif so you wouldn't have souls from killing him
The center of the elevator is a pressure plate that activates it. This pressure plate locks active so that if you stand on the elevator once it comes to a rest, it stays waiting for you to leave. (I'm sure you knew this, I'm just covering all the bases here.) He stepped off the pressure plate so it would reset into its normal state where it can activate, and then back onto it, and then left the elevator before the elevator could leave. This way, the elevator is at the top of the shaft and he won't have to wait for it later.
@@soldi4225 Excuse me. Can I ask u 2 more questions about the run? Maybe u know how to fix input delay in DSR. I see your menuing, and i can't repeat the same save&quit because of input delay? I want to start running this game but that delay makes me feel sad
@@ИльяКолотыгин Sure. After you open the menu you have to wait a tad bit before you do inputs. Its like 0.5 seconds iirc. So start -> wait -> then quit out asap. IF thats your problem..I've never heard about input delay in the remastered version, I could only imagine monitor refresh rate
Maybe no glitch should be no pause save unsave continue bullshit too maybe? First time checked out Dark souls speedrunnning, 5 mins in and that's already killing it
You are always welcome to do your own speed run and post the ruleset. Chances are people would want to challenge it as long as the rules are clear. This one simply means no wrong wrapping or falling glitch. You can do no wrong wrapping no falling no undead burg skip no anor londo skip no archive skip no reloading all bosses.😊
Hey. Mostly viable yeah, but Quelaag and O&S could be a bit annoying without RTSR early. But if you get dusk crown and the dragon ring, you should be good for the most part. Magic is really powerful in DS1.
