Well I was very surprised by the results. The websites claims to relic fretboard. Well I can say it gives it a nice boost in color and can really darken rosewood, but it does not "relic". For darker results you might still need to go a different route. I tried leather dye and it worked well on Pau Ferro. Check out that over video down below. Coolandout

KIWI shoe polish works great! Bet it's nearly the same thing. Use the dark brown will transform your rosewood board to Ebony, and it don't rub off when playing either

If you sand the back of the neck down to bare wood then rub it in with steel wool it will relic it btw.

You need to prepare the fretboard with steel wool and lighter fuel like Matt shows in his video. for the best results I was waiting for parts so I gave mine 5 coats at 12 hrs each .I dont think any longer than 12 hrs makes any difference myself .

I’ve a better idea, just forget how the fretboard looks and just play the guitar! If you want darker wood, buy a guitar with darker wood!! The PF here looks better than the rosewood as it’s more uniform. The PF is a hardwood and the wax will not sink in! All that will happen is residue will eventually clog the strings. The fretboard should be spotless or else you’ll be playing an oily board. Even lemon oil does not hydrate, it’s simply for cleaning. I like rosewood to be dark and consistent, some of the recent rosewood is streaky. PF which I don’t like if it’s grey, too red or wildly streaky but I’d have no problem using the PF you have there.
