You know what might be the most unsettling part of this picture? It's probably the only time you see the eyes of human people (not counting the Prophet as those are no longer in their sockets) in a game where those eyes are nothing but black shades, suddenly you see color in those, and it's a freaking frightful and desperated look.
Ah, the drums like a heartbeat at the very end... I see what you did there. I got into this game pretty recently but I’ve fallen completely in love with it. You and the devs have created something absolutely phenomenal.
I recently fell in love with Darkest Dungeon and that's in no small part to the music. It sets the tone perfectly whether I'm managing the Hamlet or fighting in the dungeons. And now, after 56 hours of playing the game, I find out that the one responsible for that great music also produced made the soundtrack to The Sands of Time, one of my all time favorite OSTs. This has somehow made a great game even better! Stuart Chatwood, your music is excellent and has been a part of my playlists for over a decade. Keep doing what you do and I look forward to hearing what else you have in store for the Darkest Dungeon!
I don't know if the composer looks at the comments but....please do more ! This is just awesome, I want more music that reminds me Lovecraft's athmosphere, like this one ! I love this so much, you really did a great job.
"Ruin has come to our family." You. I like you. A lot. The soundtrack to this game is _phenomenal_; hell, I'd say it's your finest work yet. (And that's saying something!) I can't wait to see what other magic you'll weave as the game finishes up.
Oh man, I'm going to use your musics for my tabletop RPGs, aside with those of great composers like Michael Hoening (Baldur's Gate), Mikolai Stroinski (The Witcher), Basil Poledouris (Conan) and Glenn Stafford (Warcraft).
@@StuartChatwood Pretty old comment, but we GM's are still using your music for our games, mine is actually Sci Fi, it works pretty well for the chaos of the fights that occurs
Dude your music is amazing, I enjoyed it even more than the game, and I loved the game! AAA games need music like this. Are you gonna upload the other tracks? mournweald encounter is particularly epic. Edit: I didn't realize you made the score for the ps2 Prince of Persia games, still wish we could see your music more often though.
I least expected to find your channel, let alone through a RU-vid comment you made. Thank you for the Prince of Persia soundtrack as well as these Darkest Dungeon ones (just found out you did this too)!!! Your music ads so much to these games!
1:20 *"And then, the earth shook, and from the depths, rose an unspeakable horror! It had no name, and could be given none; for our minds were crushed by its presence! Raymond fell to the foul beast in but a strike; the rest of us fled, but it caught us! It will catch us all!"* *Gunshot.*
It took someone else pointing this out, but I love how this trailer actually contains the leitmotif for the Heart of Darkness starting at 1:46. This really is one of the best soundtracks of the decade.
Welcome to hamlet we are going to the ruin where the craic and darkest terror lurks in the shadows, in the ruins. Hamlet is our home now and we are bound to it
