Great video!! I liked your review of the Seymour Duncan Studio bass too! which one do you prefer?? And seems you use the blend knob under 11 o'clock. So you are basically using low or mild compression sound? In order to have the maximum compressed sound, the Blend knob has to be fully clockwise isnt it?? Thanks for that review!
Hi Jp! Oh that's a great question! I think I'd like to get both up on the table for a side-by-side comparison. The Hyper Luminal has features onboard that I particularly like - and the app opens up wider options too. That said, the Studio Bass is still a favourite in my compressor reviews. Hmm, maybe on features the HL wins, but the Studio Bass is very, very good. Your second point: Look up "Parallel Compression", otherwise known as "New York Style Compression". In short, blending in the clean sound makes a big difference to how compression affects the signal. It's a different sort of dynamics control. - You can have a really hard compression going on but the blend creates a different result to that where the blend is 100% wet. Hopefully that makes sense!
@@DanVeallBassist thank for the answer!! I too couldnt decide between both ahaha my other question was more about how the blend control works on this pedal. On the MXR I had, the more clockwise I turn it, the more clean signal I got. On the HL, I tought it was the more affected signal it blends in. So thats why I thought you were not using the HL affected signal that much. Sorry english isnt my first language :)
