Valkirie Turn It is done with the strong kick button in the air, and half a turn of the control similar to the Hadouken Morrigan flies off the screen and will then return from the opposite side descending diagonally and if any attack button is pressed Morrigan will use his Valkyrie Turn which can hit more than 30 times, its weak point is that it only reaches up to half of the screen and you can hit it leaving it defenseless Obviously it doesn't work if the opponent is in the opposite corner

Not this game... The Saturn got ports of the second and third game which were MUCH better games than the original Darkstalkers. The only thing I like better from that first game is the opening intro and music which you can get on the Saturn by using a secret menu. Other than that, the Darkstalkers 2 and 3 are much better-balanced and play like finished games. Darkstalkers; The Nightwarriors plays like a broken, half-finished game. (It was ported to the PS1 and STILL played like a broken game on the console which really wasn't suited for CPS-2 fighters more complicated than Street Fighter Alpha.) It wasn't very popular in the States which is partly why they canceled the rollout of Nightwarriors: Darkstalkers Revenge (aka Vampire Hunter in Japan); DS2 never left test in the US but it was tested at a place (golf course with an arcade in California is what I've heard) in the US. Most of us either played this game overseas in 1995 or 1996, or played the home console port when it became available import or domestic. I've got both discs so it's not a big deal other than I got to see what they cut out in the planned, wider US arcade release. Unless you're an a-hole animation frame counter, the Saturn port of Darkstalkers 2 and 3 are arcade-perfect. The port of the second game was amazing because it didn't have the advantage of a 4MB RAM expansion cartridge and STILL sounded as good as the arcade with fantastic music reproduction and NO SLOWDOWN of HUGE animation cuts whatsoever unlike X-Men: Children of the Atom! Capcom basically wanted to make Darkstalkers 2/Vampire Hunter less funny and more brutal for the wide US release which never happened outside of the Sega Saturn on which they didn't sell many copies of this game on in the States. In Japan, I'm pretty sure they sold over 300,000 copies, maybe in the ballpark of 500,000-600,000 copies; DS2 was the most popular fighting game in Japan for a while in the mid-1990s. Capcom kind of worked against themselves there. At that point, if Americans could not get into a fighting game that featured all the popular monster archetypes in a revamped Street Fighter game engine with new game rules and combos, nothing Capcom could do would get Americans interested. Capcom gave Darkstalkers a good shot in the US but it never became popular in spite of the console releases, an animated series on USA Network (which was awful and less popular than the equally bad Street Fighter animated series on the same network), a tie-in comic translated by Viz for the US market, and the eventual late 1990s home video release of the dubbed version of the far-superior Japanese-produced, 4-part Darkstalkers OVA series. If after all that, people STILL say "meh," they'll never like the game. It's a shame because I think the second and third Darkstalkers are easily among the best fighting games Capcom ever made and my favorite CPS-2 fighters for sure. The animation is superb and it has a nice dark sense of humor and great sight gags throughout. The second and third game also set records for imports -- they were the best-selling fighting games that NCSX ever sold in the 1990s and both for the Sega Saturn which was considered a failure in the US but which those of us who imported games knew had a lot of classics which never made it to the US thanks to Sega of America's dumbass management. I've only seen a few CEO's at other companies who were bigger screw-ups and idiots than Bernie Stollar was as SoA. Stollar is still one of the biggest morons who ever worked in the videogame industry in the US.

Yes. Darkstalkers' Revenge is just an "update" of Darkstalkers 1.

Yes and no. Darkstalkers 1's combo system is more like your standard Street FIghter with an odd super bar while Night Warriors and onward would use the combo system that would become famous in MvC, with a more orthodox super combo meter system as well.
