Psyker when first playing him "hah what a wacky character who thinks the voices in his head is the emperor" After 30 hours "holy fuck he is actually talking to the emperor"
He most definitely is. The voice never tempts him to do anything, just shares helpful info. Demons usually push people towards certain desires, but the voice just keeps him calm.
I always thought that particular bit of lore was odd. One of the few facts about pre-imperial unification humanity is that psykers didn't become prevalent across the galaxy until late in the dark age of technology. This means that Gellar fields had to be generated without psykers before then. It just seems strange that they'd vegetablize and nutritionally sustain psykers for Gellar fields when a more efficient technology clearly already existed. Still, it's one of those crazy lore bits that are gratifying to see in games like this.
@@thomascranor2668the imperium seems to forget technology as often as it remembers, no doubt they found the STC for a non-psyker based Geller battery, or maybe FTL travel was just infinitely worse back when their gellar shields were a bit crap in the dark age.
Zealot: They should give these jobs to _humans_ who can count their own _fingers!_ Ogryn: Ogryn is Ab-human. Ogryn has sevenleventy fingers. Happy now?
I don't think THE ogryn, but they usually love Ogryns anyway, loyal, take bullets, protect, the guard likes them. But I mean, over time the rejects do get to know each other.
All guard like ogryns: big, loyal, tough. It has to be nice watching a good lad tear an ork nob in half then beat another over the head with said ork half
@bastiat they'd be gr8 for the type of spaces we find ourselves in, in darktide, reletivly small narrow corridors set ablaze with the holy fire of a melta and sallys pushing fort with thunder hammers
I am doubtless that the 'Beloved' psyker is straight up talking with a fragment of the Emperor. The meta knowledge this psyker has couldn't come from anyone or anything else.
Ogryn: Do as told. Get medal. Simple. Commisar: Genius! Bob, that's the most outstanding answer I have ever seen! Here's another medal for your genius! If you work hard enough for the Emperor, you might be promoted into a bonehead!
Commisar: *Quietly, to the guardsman on his left* "His name is Bob, right?.." Guardsman: "Ah.. Yep, sure, totally his name, Lord Commisar sir!" Commisar: "I sense the veil of sarcastic reverie in your tone, Guardsman.." Guardsman: "Nope, couldn't be me, just an honest man doing honest work in the name of our God Emperor, praise be the throne on Holy Terra!"
In the book "The Great Work" Belisarius Cawl can easily select what kind of personality traits he'll use for the kind of mission he is going on. And with Hadron being almost 4 centuries old I reckon she's almost at the point of mandatory memcore purge.
2:39 I was First confused when i Heard this since as a human in 40k you literally get Shot If you dont believe in the Emperor but now that i know that the Psykers "Beloved" is probably the Emperor himself talking to the Psykers it makes Sense since the Emperor wanted to abolish all Religion...
The banter between the squad and Hadron is also something I like. As someone who has not looked into any books (audio or otherwise) it gives color to the personalities of children of the omnissiah.
@Nicolas Peigné I did, only because I met two- A Zealot and a Veteran, who were so floored with my Ogryns name and apparel, that they just complimented me every few hordes on Heresy in Dreyko. That said, yeah you're probably right. No one likes the dangers of the upper tiers and would probably just stay together.
That Psyker is actually talking to the Emperor. He simply knows too much about the Emperor that the ecclesiarchy redacted, such as the fact that He would never consider himself a God.
Of course Ultramarine circle jerks all round. Would make sense to bring in the Salamanders to purge the blight with Nocturne fire and protect people at the same time.
The psyker actually hearing the real Emperor only adds to the evidence that there isn’t much of him left. Just barely useful fragments of psyche drifting around in the warp for anyone to pick up
While everyone is talking about the dialogue from the PCs, I've got something to say about the semi-inaudible dialogue from the NPCs. Specifically at 7:48. For this Chaos Ogryn sounds very similar to that of the Ologs from Middle Earth: Shadow of War. Why that you may ask? Because some of them have that specific tone I've heard.
Would be neat to have a commissar actually and a sister of battle (I imagine a medic than a battle sister) and I guess assassins are coming too. I like to think them being mentioned implies they'll be future classes.
We don't even have the full crafting system and they said that would be rolled out in DECEMBER. Temper your expectations, kindred. We aren't getting three whole new classes when the ones we have are in this shape
The entire point of the game is you're a disposable asset not even worth remembering, no way in hell we're getting something as important as commissars or sisters.
@@Atlashon Except Matt Ward is working on that game still. And just because someone is writing Guilliman or the Ultrasmurfs better somewhere else doesn't mean they aren't overused. You hear of a chapter, it's always the freaking poster boys.
@@alexrexaros9837 There must be a reason. They must garner more attention or people just might like them better. Otherwise, do you really think a profit based company gives preference to the fuc*ing color blue? Grow up, dude.
"They used to plug psykers to the engines.. doubt they do that anymore." Ah, man knows his grimderp lore: Where they used the psychic torment of psykers to form the gellar fields. *It was stated with the knowledge gellar fields were golden age tech, but psykers.. didn't exist then so-*
Nope. Being in the Inquistion isnt the same as being an Inquisitor. Those are rare, but as the game attempts to show they are backed up by whole armies of expendable meat. Space Marines have never numbered much more than a few million even in the grand old days of the Legions. They arent a threat because of their numbers, they are a threat because each one is just THAT good.
@@Azraiel213 Id have to guess that for an organization to allege it has the power to overrule Space Marine chapters they are most definitely more rare than Space Marines. When you hear what Malcador originally proclaimed for them too it makes sense. They are supposed to be extremely rare and exceptional individuals. Not the kind thats easy to find in the 40k universe.
How would he know about the Grey Knights? Granted they’re not as secretive as they used to be… but they’re not exactly common knowledge either. And Grendyl is stated to be an Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor, he’ll call a Battalion of Sisters of Battle before the overrated Daemon-hunting nerds.
I mean I would imagine getting your planet blown up and it causing the portal to hell to grow and split the galaxy in half would make you pretty fucking annoyed
If GW was cool (they're not) they would have done something like "Ow do ya fink the EMPRAH gives orders" "I heard from some greased up gold plated fancypants Custodes it was some kind of text to speech device" Alas. It's GW we're talking about here.
