I've generally preferred using the Heavy Swords over the Devil Claw Swords on Zealot due to their better damage profiles against all enemy types outside of the Devil Claw's finesse boosted Parry attacks.
However, in my boredom of having tried near everything available in the Zealot kit already I've been pleasantly surprised at how this weapon comes alive in a crit-focused build with Blazing Piety and Shred. As long as there's enough enemy mass, I functionally have infinite Chastise The Wicked charges to spam as needed.
To be honest, most of the time I don't actually bother parrying due to the general loss of uptime of actual melee swinging on targets. That said, if you are in a situation where it's worth parrying such as 1-shotting a Rager in the head or a Chastise The Wicked parry on a Crusher overhead it can do some mean damage that more than compensates for the Devil Claw's general lack of Carapace potential compared to even a Heavy Sword.
If you're wondering how I have different sights on my guns, skins on weapons you haven't seen before or weapons on mine and others' backs it's from the Extended Weapon Customization mod that's available on NexusMods in the Darktide Section.
