Darrell is a gem of a man, a super talented song writer, musician, and performer - and just great guy. Thanks for being you Darrell and for sharing your gifts.
This is hands down one of my favorite songs and Darrell's performance, skill and magical finesse at playing & singing is extraordinary to watch. It's a rare treasure and a gift from above. Just blows me away how good he is. Thank you for this.
I first discovered Darrell Scott years ago being played on WDVX, Knoxville Internet radio. He does a wonderful cover of "Any World That I'm Welcome To." I actually bought the CD. Haven't kept up with him lately; my bad. This is beautiful. I love the "Blackbird" quote at the end to acknowledge the source of inspiration for the progression; the lyrics are powerful. Darrell Scott FTW!
My son played this for me today. I cried by the second verse. I was torn down by the end. That, sir, is a brilliant song. I love it. Thank you for writing this. I feel all of it.
This song is full of life and sincerity. I'm glad I've crossed paths with this gem... and with this true musician. Whichever type of song I listen to, I've got ears to discern the powerful ones.
Darrell Scott is brilliant. I just discovered this guy yesterday. It's great that he's in Robert Plant's band, but he really shines with just a singular presence, -his voice and a guitar.
I saw Darrell sing this in Tampa this past week. What a sweet wonderful artist. Lots of interaction with the intimate crowd at the Straz. Incredible show!
I remember seeing Darrell at Merlefest when he was just coming to his own, I knew then he was and is something special, what a singer songwriter, what a pro, thanks for posting, this is great Darrell, you are a different breed indeed...
Darrell has quite a collection of outstanding guitars, and he knows how to play them. Same goes for his songs. The musical establishment in Nashville should pay more attention to troubadors like Darrell.
Darell is a national treasure and a gem among the pre-packaged plastic dreck out there. If you love his music, please support him by buying his albums.
Great song and what a monster tone from the Sobell - a Martin Simpson MK 2, European spruce over African Blackwood sides and back, my own has Brazilian b/s.
