When Savage gets hurt and can't perform the mission, Dooku electrocutes him and call him a failure. When Savage gets hurt and can't perform the mission, Ventress yells at him to get up because he can't be her downfall. When Savage gor hurt, the first thing Maul does is to scream "SAVAGE!", then stops everything he is doing, forgets completely about Kenobi, about his plan and his revenge and focus all his efforts into protecting Savage.

@@postsniper-7532 The whole "not that powerful in the force" narrative surrounding Obi-Wan- I don't know where that even came from. He's now canonically defeated Maul and Vader multiple times and was shown to be nearly as powerful in the force as Anakin in their duel. The tiers go: Anakin, Luke, > Yoda, Palpatine, Mother Talsin > Darth Vader, Mace Windu, Obi Wan Kenobi, Count Dooku > Maul, Ashoka, Ventress, Barriss Offee, Quinlan Vos, Ki Adi Mundi, Kit Fisto, Plo Koon, > Qui Gon Jinn + other Jedi Council Members. A cool detail I just noticed about this fight is how adi kicks Opress’ leg. They’re both in a fairly even fight, but as soon as his knee doesn’t budge from her kick, her confidence almost completely shatters. Instead of being on the defensive and waiting for an opportunity to counter attack, she’s now on the defensive fighting just to survive. Shrugging off her kick like it was nothing was a huge blow to her psyche, and it got her killed. It also shows what a physical powerhouse Opress was
This is my favourite lightsaber duel ever. From the point where kenobi goes "you are mistaken" and pulls the second lightsaber, just awesome. His fighting style is unique too. A blend of soresu and ataru. Resilient defence and sheer bewildering attack at the same time, while simultaneously exploiting the sole weak point, savage's left knee. This fight made obi wan number one in my eyes.
Not only did Obi Wan say “You are mistaken.” Which was badass all on its own, but he was also able to back it up and hold off both Maul and Savage. This is why Obi Wan is the 🐐
@@Ky-xm7tc And then after Luke told him that he was wrong, Anakin made a joke of Sidious by picking him up and dumping him into that reactor. Suffice to say that Mace Windu almost destroyed Sidious!
I feel so bad for Adi Gallia, she was such a great Jedi and died in such an unfortunate way. She just wasn’t physically strong enough against a giant like savage, but she was so agile, flexible and force wise.
I wouldn't say stupid, dying on the battlefield is the most honorable way a warrior can die. Also, Savage murdered a Jedi master and his apprentice w/o a saber and demolished their accompanying troops all with ease. The way he killed her too was pretty sick ngl, it really showed how brutal a character Savage was.
@Caleb D Well there aren't many people who would even think of going toe to toe against Sidious and the fact he held him longer than the three jedi w/ Mace shows that the most powerful being in the galaxy had to be the one to put down Savage. Plus Sidious had double blades and was obviously a very skilled swordsman while Savage was very inexperienced but did pose enough of a threat to where he couldn't let his guard down so easily.
@@phillycheesesteak1979 I mean kinda. It is impressive that savage didn't die in 2 seconds, but it's also pretty clear that sidius is just toying with him and is in no danger at all throughout the fight. He's just having fun with savage. You could argue maul caught him off guard for a second and made him try for a little bit, but he quickly moved past that.
6:10 You gotta give props to Maul. When this man is focused or desperate he pulls off some insane shit with the force. He just effortlessly moved that ETA-Class shuttle like it was a small rock or something.
I think we should all not be arguing over the series, and instead complimenting Hondo as a hilarious character. "Insolence? We are pirates, we don't even know what that means!" I died.
4:47 is probably one of my favorite parts of this entire show. Obi-wan, a calm, kind, collected military leader who wants nothing but peace and love for all, has the look of a broken, deranged man who wants to do nothing but kill, even more so than Maul himself. This small part of the entire show really shows the amount of detail, character development, and commitment the animators are willing to put in, just to tell a story. Absolutely well done.
Every Jedi unknowingly taps into the dark side very once in a while. Maul, in the moment wasn’t even intent on killing Kenobi. He wanted to help/save Savage, which is why he overcame his rage and stopped the duel by separating Kenobi.
What if Professor Paradox is going to get Savage’s left arm for turning Ben Tennyson into a new clone of Maul’s dead brother in the Ben 10 Star Wars Rebel crossover fanfic story, and it’s hilarious that Erza gets beaten up by Ditto!
I'd rephrase the word "deranged" though. He just looks mad, because Maul and Savage are a huge menace to that very peace he's trying to keep. Nothing looks deranged or bloodlusty in that look.
1:58 if you look closely, you can actually see the stab wounds created by Savage's horns. Crazy how they chose not to fully censor it for "nonviolence"
Clone Wars is easily one of, if not the greatest animated series out there. It delivers all the story and action we’re looking for. Not to mention acrobatic fight scenes that a live action can’t deliver without a great deal of special effects.
Obi wan is the definition of a sleeper, he is at ease all the time, he isnt arrogant, he almost never show the full extent of his powers unless is really necessary. But In the end he knows hes at the top of the jedi knights, a truly polivalent warrior
That’s because he knows a defensive style, and he is best duelist at it. Not only that, but it was stated that Padawan Obi Wan was always ahead of his peers when it comes to force abilities, so the way I see it he is probably the strongest Jedi during the prequels
@@jakealter5504 Hondo and his pirates captured and scaped Many times from kenobi thats why he doesnt fear them . Hondo was a match for kenobi and other jedis, if the siths cant with them then the mutual relationship is not PROFITABLE

X Infinity He barely survived his bisection in the Phantom Menace and had metal appendages welded into him in a trash dimension, where he went insane. His brother Savage Opress eventually found him and used black magic from the witch Mother Talzin to clear his mind and give him better prosthetic legs. I'm pretty sure Disney deemed it all non-canon after they bought Star Wars, so it's either or.
What I love about this fight is how mauls finesse compliments savages brute strength and the contrasting style would actually have worked on any other jedi, however obi wans form 3 defense mixed with a bit of form 6 at the end makes him pretty much unbeatable, along with the fact that he has experience against maul and savage.
The thing I love about this fight is the hyper-aggressive Obi Wan idea and how he toys with turning his lightsabers off during combat when he needs to.
That dodge on 3:52 is sick. It looks like as if he is fighting a pair of souls bosses for a thousandth time, and he memorized all their attack patterns. He just blinked out into the single possible safe spot outside their damage area.
This scene is one of the best of examples in all of Star Wars just how powerful Obi-Wan is. His fighting style is single-saber, but he immediately adapts to fighting with 2 even though he's not very experienced in it. He knows that Savage is too physically strong for him to just overpower, so he continually targets his left knee over and over, weakening it until it's vulnerable to collapse. It's easy to forget since we see so much of him throughout the series and the movies and we get used to his feats and achievements, but he was inarguably a top 3 Jedi behind only Mace Windu and Yoda. Fighting 1v2 vs Maul and Savage and forcing them to retreat is something almost no one else could have done.
+Youri van Steeg fisto was not rly better. they were 2 diffrent fighters. in a match 1 v 1, kenobi is for sure stronger. his soresu mastery is way to good that he could get overpowered in a 1v1. And why you think kenobi got sent to kill grevious? For sure not bc fisto was stronger than him in duelling. Kenobi got sent bc he was the only person that could defend himself against 4 lightsabers at the same time. however kit fisto was by far the stronger person in the force. We all know kenobi was weak in force while fisto was strong in the force meaning he could master other situations better than kenobi. What i want to say is, that you cant rly compare a jedi-commander whos trained to fight to a jedi who uses force and is doing more like civil missions
+Youri van Steeg Not really no. They all practiced different styles. Windu created his own but Obi had mastered soresu to such a degree he was called THE master of soresu from Windu. Not to mention Obi is also extremely skilled with his force powers though he may not have the sheer power of Anakin or Yoda. Not to mention he was also a brilliant tactician and had some of his strategies taught in Imperial Navel Academies, notably the Kenobi Offensive. Again though, pretty much all the Permanent Jedi Council members were extremely powerful and you were to pit them in a 1 on 1, the winner would be those who have mastered their chosen style to the highest degree and to the degree they have mastered the force.
+Youri van Steeg Nope, fisto sucked ass that's why he died in like 40 seconds to darth Sidious and mace windu didn't even survive order 66. Obi wan will always be the best.
I love this duel unlike their first rematch Obi Wan keeps his cool and completely outperforms his opponents. Just goes to show when Kenobi is focused he is one of the best duelist in the entire galaxy.
I mean he beat anakin in his prime. Even though Obi Wan was on the defensive side the whole time I don’t think anyone else could’ve bested Anakin besides him. Which means he’s prolly the greatest duelist of his time.
@@joseeguren4645 Yoda was definitely the only living Jedi who could take Anakin in a 1v1. Windu wouldn't go down easy but Anakin if still on the light side can beat him. He should've beaten Kenobi, and would have if the fight lasted any longer. He only didn't because Kenobi was focused, and his defensive style worked excellent against Anakin's angry onslaught, on top of him knowing Anakin's unpredictable nature better than anyone else alive. So yes, besides Yoda, Kenobi was literally the only Jedi who could last more than a few minutes against Anakin. Just the same as he was the literally the only Jedi who stood a chance against Grevious in a 1v1
2:06 it’s very interesting to see that instead of trading Savage’s life to get an easy stab on Kenobi , Maul instead deflects Kenobi’s swing to save Savage’s life. Perhaps his love for his brother was stronger than his thirst for revenge, that after losing his body and sanity he was just not ready to lose Savage too; or perhaps this is a cartoon that I’m thinking about too hard
We even see in Rebels that Maul clearly couldn't stop himself from seeing Ezra as a sort of replacement for Savage. He definitely loved Savage and I think most fans really liked that development for his character.
I liked Hondo in this episode. He was super chill, even though half of his crew were traitors. Hondo roasting Maul and Savage when they tried to take his crew back was also funny as hell…
Hunter of Trolls I don't think that's the case. I think the reason why they hit his knee that many times is because Savage is a very aggressive duelist, but his form is also very sloppy. He has not completed his training, and most of the time just charge in and wield the saber with all his strength, therefore creates a sloppy form. This results in his kneecaps exposing all the time, and are very easy for opponents to hit
This is, in my opinion, Kenobi's best lightsaber duel in the Star Wars universe. It really shows his mastery of his fighting technique. It's no wonder then that Anakin failed to defeat him. Kenobi is THE REAL OG.
Let’s give Anakin some credit though; he’s one of the few people that have actually managed to break Obi Wan’s guard in a saber duel. Few people can make that claim
Obi wan defeated anakin with tactics. He used an unbreakable defense to survive and to wait for anakin to make a mistake, and so he got the chance to take the highground. But he didn't defeat him because he is the better fighter. In a normal lightsaber fight, anakin probably would have won because of his power in the force.
Anakin lost because he underestimated obi wan. And that obi wan tricked him into jumping. Kenobi is the master of getting under someones skin.. and since anakin was so agressive obi was just waiting for him to make a misstake. Anakin would have won if he waited instead of jumping tho.
@@valarius942 the kick still helped him win because it slowed grevious my miliseconds which saved obi wan by giving him enough time to shoot, obi wan had no high ground here and survived this 1v2 by kicking, so if he fought dooku for the first time, if he kicked dooku he might have won
I’ve always really enjoyed Maul and Savage’s relationship and wished there was more of them together and focused on them not only because both are interesting characters on their own but the fact they actually get along and work together is very interesting. They have a decent bond that’s not too soft to disregard that they’re from the dark side but not nearly as harsh as ever other dark sider duo. I wished we had more content of them developing that bond because I don’t think something that that would form for a guy like Maul overnight as it seems in the show. I can see Savage getting attached quickly because of the death of his other brother and how he seems conditioned to follow orders but I wish it was explored more about how a dude raised as a Sith from toddler age would become attached enough to disregard his mortal enemy when he brother is hurt. And also I wanna see them fight together more because they are a badass pair and every fight with them together is awesome.
I like Hondo. He knows how to do nearly everything. Steal TWO lightsabers off a Sith Lord, count dooku, smack talk Sith, trade, make deals, use a blaster, electric staff, and most importantly, survive everything!
Well with a few exceptions. I doubt the Inquisitors would have much difficulty deflecting blasters due to their special lightsabers, so the stupid helicopter function does have a use. And Kenobi is basically the embodiment of Form III which all about defense.
It depends on the lightsaber combat form. Maul uses Form 7 Juyo which is designed for one to one lightsaber duels. While Soresu or Shien is more successful for deflecting blaster bolts.
Considering how powerful Mother Talzin’s magic is and it works on Savage very well. Not saying Savage isn’t powerful, but Gallia is the better duellist and the more experienced one. She doesn’t understand how the dark side works and how small things can infuriates a dark side force user. Besides she doesn’t know much about Savage and what happened to his body. She has all sorts of disadvantages (not even her speed cause of the weapon Savage is using) if she can hold her own that already proves her to be very powerful. She did an excellent job in fact. How unfortunate, her lack of understanding the enemy leads to her death.
@@Arcilios Because Maul is stronger than ever, and has a magically altered beast on his side that just took out a Master Jedi Council member with ease? This wasn't to show that Maul or Savage were weak, it was to show how strong Kenobi is when in good state.
Awful clever of the pirates to decide before the battle which side would have red lasers and which side would get blue. Makes it much easier to tell them apart.
Okay but the way Maul cried out for Savage- He may pretend that Savage was nothing more than an apprentice to him, but he clearly still had enough love in him for his baby brother. I mean, he kept Savage’s lightsaber after his death at the hands of Sidious and wielded it until his own death.
"Surrender. We are two, and you are no match for us both." **Calmly and confidently draws a second lightsaber and stares them both down** "You are mistaken." That's level 1,000 badassery right there.
Huh, TIL that the chick I THOUGHT was killed on the BARC speeder during the execution of Order 66 in RotS wasn't Adi Gallia. Turns out it was Stass Allie. WTF.
Honestly I think is the rawest duel Obi-Wan fought in the series. Moreso than the first one, this one you genuinely get the sense he’s fighting for his life being backed into a corner and that he isn’t afraid to play dirty if shit really hits the fan. I even get the sense might of tapped into the dark side, using Adi Galia’s death to fuel him like he did with Qui-Gon. Thankfully he’s the quintessential master of form III. I just like this less kid-friendly version of him where it shows he’s also a pragmatist.
He was definitely tapping into the dark side here I agree. 2:05 he would’ve sliced Savage in half if it wasn’t for Maul. 4:46 he was ready to finish them both off right there. Maul gets Obi Wan closer to the dark side than anybody else.
@Captain happy Wtf are you talking about? Maul only “dominates” Obi in their first fight. The second time they meet on Florrum, The fight is pretty even until Gallia dies and Obi wan manages to make both him and Savage retreat. The next time they duel in Rebels, Obi wan kills the guy in three strikes.
@Captain happy Dude Obi wan got up immediately after Maul force pushed him, all he did was hold his head after being force pushed. On Mandalore, Obi wan got hurled away by an explosion before Maul got him.
I never stop noticing new attention to detail. Like for example, I never noticed that Obi-wan was constantly kicking Savage's knee to weaken him, making his final kick all that much more crucial.
@@juliosantiago7182 well who can blame her though, Savage is monster enhanced with dark magic of the night sisters. Technically, Adi was right to kick his knee, but physically, it didn't do much harm to Savage given their strength.
This fight is brilliant one of the best we see here how Kenobi thinks tactically even when fighting, he kept attacking Savage's leg wearing it down so that once he got into a position that relied on that leg it would be a critical weakness. Meanwhile we see the difference and similarities with both Savage and Mauls fighting style. Savage's being true to his name very savage and aggressive with very little skill. Maul has an aggressive style as well but is tempered by great skill making his skills precise and well executed. However Maul let his confidence in his skill and the fact it was 2 against one to blind him to Kenobi's own skill which he only honed while Maul survived on scraps demented and unhinged on a trash planet.

By the way she was stabbed with those horns she could've end up puking blood. Even though by this season The Clone Wars got violent it didnt reach a wholesome level of bllod and gore.
Honestly, this fight clearly proves that Obi-Wan was one of the greatest and smartest Jedi of all time. Instead of relying on his raw power, he thinked outside the box and basically analysed what was going on. An example is on how he cut Savage's arm. Furthermore, he managed to hold his own against two Dark Side users, while beating one of them in the process. Also, as people say, Obi-Wan wasn't that strong in the force, which I believe. But when it comes to dueling, he was quite powerful as he was the master of Soresu.
+Norberto Smirnoff but these 2 guys have defeated many beings in tcw and obi wan( his choice for a place to fight was perfect thats why he fought so good i think) literally demolished them
Maul beat Obi Wan here. I mean, Obi Wan destroyed Savage..lol..but then Darth Maul forced pushed Obi Wan like 50 feet into a rock wall. Of course Darth Maul had to get his badly injured Brother out of there. Maul and Obi Wan were 2-2 vs. each other in duels..but Obi Wan got the last laugh in Rebels by finally killing Maul.
I love that you can clearly see that obi wan, realizing he couldn’t take the brothers being at the defensive, immediately takes the ofensive and start putting savage and maul in the defensive, thats just smart dueling

This scene is awesome.. Obi-Wan owning both of them in general.. and his use of kicks on Savages leg to great effect, which Adi attempted and ultimately died .. or maybe because of her kick, Obi noticed Savage was favoring his leg because her kick actually fazed him more than he let on helping Obi Wan defeat them both more easily. Regardless, Obi-Wan is awesome when he lets loose.
Kenobi does everything better. First its "Maul has the high ground in TPM, he gets cut up, Obi wan has the high ground in ROTS, he's the one cutting people in half" and then its "Adi tries kicking savage in the leg, she gets stabbed to death, Kenobo does it, he chops off savage's arm."
If I were to pick a character from Star Wars to be, I'd definitaly pick Obi Wan. Atleast he didn't lose any limbs, didn't had a painful death, became immortal as a Force Ghost, and fought in the war.
