When Talzin puts him to sleep, his legs literally fall apart. Anyone else noticed this as well? He was holding these legs together with the force for over a decade... And he didn't sleep once. The dark side really did keep him alive. Amazing character.

During the "ressurection" his brother looked so disturbed, he really cared for him.

I love how his healing doesn't feel cheap, like Talzin can clear his mind enough to make it possible for him to think and reason but you can feel that he still carries all that pain with him and his inner monologue is probably still unhinged and chaotic.

Absolutely loved how his spider legs just fell off after he was put to sleep. Which meant he didn't construct them and that they were purely being held together with the force.

I don't see it being talked about enough: can we talk about how incredible the Nightsister hospital program would be? Repairing over 12 years of mental fraying and physical torment in less than 5 minutes! God I wish I was Maul, that sounds incredible.

When you realise Maul was keeping his spider legs together with mainly the Force for presumably over a decade He might not be anywhere near Sidius and definetly Anakin's power level , but the guy has a will of iron 😮😮

The visual of mauls dark clouds being pulled out of his head by mother talsin is one of the coolest things in this show. It’s like she just pulling out his insanity shown through dark clouds that blinded his judgement and restored his mental state

The most memorable scene in the entire show for me. “Brother, what are you saying?!” “… and through the filth… Through The GRIEF, *J E D I* ! ! !……… revenge….. I must have revenge.”

This man kept his legs and guts together SIMPLY from pure, unadulterated rage, for 12 years. With that much hatred and malice being used in Force energy I actually don't understand how even one Force user couldn't at least feel like something was off in the Force.

The way she said “Arise, Maul.” Satisfied me on a very high level.

I love this. Maul’s first clear thought in almost 15 years perfectly sums up his character: “Revenge. I must have revenge.”

Savage is very Loyal.

Looking at what Mother Talzin accomplished with healing Maul's mind, she could have done so much good. Her magic has the ability to do that, imagine what other great things she could have achieved.

That thing she's doing to his brain? I wish someone would do that for me.

When I first heard they were bringing Maul back in TCW, I thought it was going to be the dumbest goddamn thing. But after the amazing story they gave him, his quest for revenge, his usurping of Mandalore, his second destruction by Sidious, and his final rematch with Kenobi in Rebels... I've never been so happy to be wrong. They did Maul justice, fleshed him out as a character, and made him a much cooler part of the Star Wars mythos than he had ever been before.

Sam Witwer's line delivery still gives me goosebumps

I remember watching this when this came out on Cartoon Network. One of the best things that came from the Clone Wars!

Maul is a character that's saved and improved by Clone Wars. I'd say Prequel trilogy too, especially AtoC and RotS.

I love mauls first appearance on the clone wars. Its so creepy and disturbing and the voice acting is incredible! Sam witwer is such a brilliant voice for maul!

Sam Witwer is *really* good at conveying pain. You feel how torturous it must have been for him to regrow his legs from scratch.

Just the way he said "Brother" after he woke up makes me believe nobody could ever come close to Sam Witwer as Maul, the way he delivered that ONE WORD gives me chills every single time I hear it

*this was the grand performance of not only, Clone Wars, not only Star Wars entirely, but also of all shows on cartoon network, THIS WAS AMAZING TO WATCH, PURE BEAUTIFULNESS*

The voice of Maul did an exelent job, especialy that he only has 2 lines to base it on and yet he still manages to show all the PTSD that Maul has hes been going through for 12 years

At 1:47, we see maul’s eye twitch. This subtly implies that despite all we have seen, he may not be entirely sane.

The first thing Maul did when he was back to his old self again: Run somewhere and scream

weird that she uses magic to give him legs and they end up being robot legs, organic legs would have made more sense. Robot makes more sense if they were built for him by a engineer

I won't lie: when I first knew Maul was coming back, I did _not_ have high expectations. But when I actually saw it for myself, I think that was the day I came to believe that TCW is the best Star Wars TV series of all time.

Hard to believe the guy who voiced Starkiller also voiced Maul

Obi-wan kenobi: “I like your new legs, they makes you look taller”

I loved how the characters who did nothing in the movies were brought back and turned into the best characters ever. Boba Fett fell in the Sarlacc Pit and when he got out, he became an ally to Mando and Bo-Katan. Darth Maul was sliced in half, and when Savage found him, he turned into a monster and one of the best characters in the Clone Wars.

Its so wholesome to see Maul's Brother worrying about his Brother

I love how in the scene with the muttering he isn’t being random, he’s working out what happened and putting memories together.

Savage: **Hears a creepy noise** Savage: “Is that you brother?” Maul: “Well, yes actually.”

This is some incredibly good acting.

Sam Witwer's performance as Maul was absolutely amazing. Maul's insane ramblings when found by Savage come across as so unsettling.

Honestly, I do feel bad for Maul. Despite his crimes, nobody deserves a fate like this, losing literally half your body and spending over a decade insane in a pit.

I believe that part at 2:46 is Mother Talzin removing the debilitating psychological trauma he sustained since his defeat.

I really like this scene because his brother doesn't see him as a lost cause, but rather in need of help. His first reaction isn't "get away from me" but essentially "jfc you need help. Come with me, I'll get you to it." Maul is one of my favorites and personally I wished he'd eventually become good. Might've been cheesy but still, the sheer will of that man could've ultimately been what the jedi needed to become a true force for good. Imagine if he'd become hellbent on protecting people and making the galaxy a better place instead of revenge. Whether that was through the jedi or on his own initiative. Imagine having your planet in a hopeless situation of being conquered or ravaged, and then Maul showing up at the last minute, and literally turning the tide.

First rule of Star Wars: if you have a death scene that shows you DEFINITELY DYING on screen, but then you are thrown down a pit, you are DEFINITELY ALIVE.

If they’d put the Spider body as a skin for death maul in battlefront I’d probably start playing again.

I still remember watching both episodes when they first aired. I knew Savage existed because of LEGO, but these were the first episodes I'd seen with him in them (didn't have cable, could only watch whenever I was at grandparent's house). My excitement at the realization that Savage was looking for Maul was nigh uncontainable. All capped off with the end of the episode where Obi-Wan just says "Darth Maul, alive?" I was so happy back then. Still two of my favorite episodes in this series.

Easily one of the coolest and most visceral characters in the franchise. Hard to believe that he survived off nothing but the force for 12 years, without ever sleeping, but somehow, he wasn't powerful enough for sidious to keep him as his apprentice, or consider him as more than just a pawn. That feat of power has to be legendary, especially for someone who never completed his training.

Darth maul probably has the best character arcs in all of science fiction and fantasy in general
