To put this into perspective, the blue haired guy is the second strongest magic user in the Duchy, just behind the Duke himself. And Myne was strong enough that just her releasing a portion of her overflowing mana was enough to stop him from moving when he wasn't even the person she was angry with and intentionally focussing her mana on.

The Dark Side of the Force, is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be... unnatural. I can even bring grass, to a dirt, field.

Still one of my favourite scenes in the LN. Especially since right after, Ferdinand is like "I did tell you to show off, but yeesh. Way to overshoot the target." Meanwhile Myne wasn't even halfway done when he told her to stop lmao

I think part of why mynes anger hits so hard is that she is a logical capable adult. She knows her magic is able to kill that man. That's what she wants. It isn't some child losing control and being unable to retract it's someone with the strength to pull away but is actively making the decision to stay.

Truthfully I like when she shows her RAGE, however I think the showing of power with the Staff of Regrowth is shows it better because of the Comparison VS the Twerp in armor.

this is one of the best rage mode power displays ever caus when her mana leaks out she stops talking like a kid and istead speaks like some angle/god is possesing her body

I love the Vader theme, a great touch! What I really like about this scene is that you only really fully understand everything about this scene much later. For one, the fact that She can overwhelm Ferdinand's mana is really important to why Ferdinand takes certain actions, as well as one of few times he is genuinely afraid and not in control of the situation. The more you learn about noble culture and how Ferdinand thinks, the more his reaction actually makes sense. Since nobles always hide their emotions and if she were to kill the scumbag, it is obvious she and her parents would be executed. From a noble point of view they should be deathly afraid of angering those of higher status for just this reason. Later on, the same thing is shown with Damuel, who is a low ranked noble, versus Shikza, who is of higher rank. Despite going against orders, Damuel still could not afford to go against a higher ranked noble that has a family that could make his life either very unpleasant or very short. Ferdinand meanwhile, has no frame of reference for a commoner's point of view, nor that Main/Myne would rather die than let her new parents and sister be killed because of her. Especially now that she considers them to be real family and that she owes them a great debt for accepting her despite all the weirdness she shows, being a young adult in a child's body.

just to say how powerful she is, the novel stated that you can only crush those with less mana than you

Even in this moment, it shows just how much more mana she has than anyone there, but it also shows how much more mana the head priest has than the high priest.

Myne looked like she was about ready to start adding some TREES to go with the grass when he stopped her. 😂

Rough estimation by inverse square law, she's about 1000x more powerful than Shikza. Except, she didn't even use all of her mana.

Mayne here is more like a Ultimate Grey Jedi who has gained absolute balance and control of both aspects of The Light and Dark Force. Can use Dark Force Techniques without allowing The Dark Force to corrupt her as well as Light Force Techniques without feeling exausted.

The fact that Myne already had enough mana to crush Ferdinant shows that she was already surpassing him.

the best part is, that only a little bit of her overflow. if she wanted to, she could heal a desert

This anime has a rather interesting take on isekai that I really like. The actual powerlessness she faces due to the system despite being OP herself knowledgeable-wise and mana-wise. The different take on magic and how mana is used in the world. I've caught up to all of the anime so I am really looking forward to a new season

This whole scene was better action animation that I expected from this show. It was a good reminder that Myne's isekai dad is a soldier, with his hand-to-hand combat skills, and Myne's magical powers are well animated also

Oh wow, the edit I did not know I needed. Emperor Palpatine's theme music fits so well. Darth Myne just like Darth Palpatine just wants to bring peace...but to some misguided rebels that don't know better she seems pretty creepy. Lol watching the show you don't understand why anyone would want to hurt such a sweet child, but this kinda helps me see the other sides point of veiw lol.

I’m just going to drop to all the people new to Ascendance of a Bookworm and just finding this video. There is a whole light novel to read that goes wayy more in depth with the lore/characters and is totally worth reading if you enjoyed the anime!
