Darth Vader Destroys Cere Scene - Star Wars Jedi Survivor 2023 

If you're wondering why Vader has a health bar this time, it's because you're playing as a VASTLY more experienced Jedi (Cal was barely a Jedi knight when Vader confronted him). It gives the illusion of hope that maybe, just maybe, Cere can live through this. In truth, her fate was sealed the second she decided not to run.

I like how Vader respects her strength and realized how far she'd grown, he even did the small lightsaber gesture at 1:51, the only one he did that was Obi-Wan in the OT and he took a long good look at her right in the eye as he got up and left. The once noble Anakin Skywalker is still in there somewhere within Vader

Baffled how these games have better cinematography and choreography than the live action shows . Also you can tell Vader at least respects her by letting her have a moment before dying.... These are the kinda of duels people were having with him in legends 🎉

I love how Vader lets Cere standing and not like chop her off or use the force or something after impaling her. Those kinds of duels that have Vader's respect. And that's saying a lot

I think this fight does a pretty good job of showing why Vader is such a dangerous adversary. He's not only built like a tank with his suit, but he is also very cunning and tenacious. When Cere thought she had the upper hand with Vader pinned helplessly against the wall, she leapt at him to finish him off. She was walking into a trap; all Vader had to do was grab her arm and shift to the side, and with that Cere impaled herself on his lightsaber. She snatched defeat from what she thought were the jaws of victory, and her growing power became her undoing...

I can't believe someone died from being impaled by a lightsaber, its usually treated like a minor wound in Disney Star Wars

Last time they fought, Vader was only wielding his lightsaber one-handed, here he's wielding it two-handed. A rare occasion where Vader actually acknowledges his opponent's strength that he is not going easy anymore.

We know who's gonna win this fight. Still, it's a testament to the writing and choreography to simultaneously demonstrate Cere's abilities and treat her with respect, but also not having to nerf Vader to do it. It was a strong moment for both their characters.

Second time I see Vader make his enemies believe he died under burnt rubble. First it was Kanan (although that happened later) and then this. Bro is truly the Master of trolling, he learned from the OG Troll Obi-Wan

Okay, but can we also appreciate what a great job Scott Lawrence did as Vader. Literally got me thinking it was James Earl Jones' AI Voice.

For people who think Cere "shouldn't have put up this much of a fight" 1) She was already an experienced Jedi by the fall of the republic 2) She was strong enough to survive the Purge. 3) She'd been going on missions with Cal and the Mantis Crew, reclaiming her connection to the force and honing her skills in stressful situations. 4) She's been hoarding Jedi texts and training with them 5) This is the most important part: she had let go of her fear. She had already walked close to the dark side and overcome it. Jedi are at their most dangerous when they are able to fully let go of their attachments, which is something Cere had trained to do. We see it when she brings the archives crashing down, when she barely skips a beat after her beloved master dies. Darth Vader always breaks the spirit of his adversaries, not because it's something he likes to do, but because it's one of the most effective weapons a Sith has against a Jedi. Like HK47 says: "The erosion of the human spirit" is a potent weapon. Vader didn't anticipate this. He tried his usual tactics, and they failed him just before he realised they were pointless - when she collapsed the archives on top of him. When he realises he needs to put some weight behind it, he's already taken a severe blow that damages his suit. People talking about "power levels" and "nerfs" and whatever have missed the thing that governs 99% of fights between force users: emotion. Dark side users are at their strongest when they are deep in the throes of rage and fury. Jedi are at their strongest when they have let go of attachment and the fear of death. That matters far more than anything else. Cere was at the height of her power, had been training for years after already receiving training when the Jedi were still a formal order, and had fully let go of her attachments. Vader underestimated her and took a blow he shouldn't have. That's why she was able to stand toe-to-toe.

The difference between fighting Vader here as opposed to running from him in Fallen Order is, to me, one of the best examples of the true power of a Jedi Master.

I’m sick of seeing these dumb comments saying *“oh but he wasn’t really trying”* it’s like bruh Vader isn’t going around letting himself get destroyed by Jedi. He was definitely trying and he prevailed but he isn’t this immovable object that everyone thinks he is and he never was in the first place, in both legends and canon Vader had plenty of moments where he was damn near annihilated. It’s still Anakin in there and a severely injured and hindered Anakin, when it comes to taking on powerful Jedi Masters who are focused and completely in the light, Vader will struggle and that’s fine. I don’t know why people need Vader to be this cardboard cutout bland immovable action figure who says cool lines…fights like these add so much character to him and show us that he’s still human. I welcome them as long as they make sense and Cere being firmly in the light, letting her past darkness go and fully embracing the Jedi way, while also being a Jedi Master with vast experience and knowledge makes perfect sense for her to put up such a good fight against Vader.

No one can beat the plot armor of living till the return of the Jedi movie

Not to be rude but I knew Vader would kill Cere because of his usual job : hunt and kill every jedi on sight

I like to think that Cere knew she wasn't going to win when Vader burst out of the fire and debris she dropped on him. She wasn't going to give up of course and she gave a better fight than most but I think she knew in that moment she was going to lose/die.

I love the Long stare at the end point before he walks off. Much respect for Cere lasting that long & actually almost able to beat him. Fantastic game.

I love how Vader didn’t even have any final words to Cere here. No mocking comment about her weakness or foolishness. Just accepting that he won already, and hobbling away to lick his wounds. The fight was actually enough that Cere got his respect. So he just walked away, and let her die in peace.

It’s amazing to think Vader even after all his actions was being protected by fate. Until he killed Sidious nobody can technically kill him. Literally plot armor but she did AMAZING and improved dramatically

I liked the ending of this fight. Cere only lost because she missed/Vader redirected her blades path. If he was anyone other than Vader he would've died. Though to be honest he should've 100% been able to catch all that debris before it fell on him, but I'll ignore that for the badass on fire look we got. RIP Cere but you did more damage to Vader than 90% of the Star Wars Universe could. Good job.

If anything, I think this shows the sheer power of Cere. She wqs bested, but NOT by much. And the fact that Vader was hobbling away just goes to show how much damage she inflicted on him. There are prescious few who could go toe to toe with Vader.

Even though I knew I fighting him that there was no way of winning, I was excited to see that health bar because after the first game, I absolutely HAD to run the ones with this man. He straight up hunts you in the first game, and personally I couldn't let that slide 😭
