Darts Player Phil Taylor Cheating During PDC Matches

Both the ref and Phil Taylor need a trip to the optician if they didn't notive that dart was outside the double.

When you walk to the board to retrieve your darts , you know if it's in or not period !

Not a PT fan but he hurt himself by doing this. He won 6-1, had a 115 avg, so he didn’t need to do it. If he did the opposite n told Russ, then he would have gained more fans n had a good sportsman label, instead of cheat. I bet he greatly regrets it. Also, ur not gonna fool a darts player n tell the people he didn’t know. That’s worse. We all know if we hit the target or not.

I don't think this is the only time he's missed the incorrectly called double. Wouldn't have happened on Bullseye.

thats not on phil. thats on the scorer. players rarely pay attention to the scorers results until after they have pulled and gone back to the line. theres examples of taylor correcting scores before he shoots as well as other players. but its hardly ever been called out as they pull the darts or before. REASON: its not the players priority or job. they work on keeping focus on the task at hand. catching scorers mistakes is not their priority. majority of mistakes are only caught when the player goes up for their out and the scorer calls out a number they didnt expect.

Glue wouldn't help..it more likely hinder "smooth release of dart which is the desired way for a dart leaving hand.

Trust me if you put glue on your darts weather it’s prit stick, Water based or even gorilla glue it’s not gonna help you 1 little bit in fact it’s gonna hinder your performance as the dart isn’t gonna leave your hand in a fluid motion, You just need a little dampness which is not cheating at all btw

I’ve seen a replay of this, despite all the talk it’s not in this video, and Phil goes to take the dart out of d12 and does a double take when he sees the dart wasn’t in d12. Phil knew full well it wasn’t in but decided to accept the bit of luck.

Many friends of players have called a check dart that was not in the double in my experience,it,s not rare.the person scoring a game may want a certain player to win especially if the opponent is an outsider of their district or nation.cheating is evident in this way in all sports not just darts.

It's not about being fair or even about winning, it's about money and if the referee is wrong in your favour, it will be taken advantage of. Sport has always been like that, be it tennis, football or any other sport. I don't approve of it and it's not good sportsmanship, but it's the way the world is.

He didn’t cheat. The referee made a mistake and Phil failed to correct him which was poor sportsmanship. But not only do you claim he’s cheated other times but the thumbnail is very misleading and tries to portray an incident which is 100% fabricated. VERY VERY POOR.

I wouldn't call this cheating. There are plenty of times a player will walk up to a board and grab the darts out without even caring to look. If a ref makes a call that's wrong its on him, not the player. Taylor is also right that sometimes an odd angle coupled with the lighting can make an illusion, I'm sure we've all thrown plenty of darts that we thought were on point, only to find out upon closer inspection we missed. (*In this instance I would say that it wasn't hard for Taylor, or anyone, at a reasonable distance to see that it wasn't a double, based on the target being a double and it being outside... but again, refer to what I said before.)

This is no big deal. Taylor was simply THE greatest player of all time The 3dart averages he threw are way above anyone who has ever played the game. Much lower now days. To say one dart that didn’t hit a double 12 means he’s a cheat is laughable. Nice try at “clickbait” 😂😂

I don't label this as cheating. Sure you could do the honourable thing and correct the ref, but I regard this as being the same as a batsman nicking off and not walking. I don't consider that cheating either. If you play a lockdown webcam style game where you call your own score, then yes, that is definitely cheating to claim a double you missed.
