Watching Live at Daryl's House, I noticed that most of the time, all the musicians, when they finish their song, seem to be full of joy. Being full of joy is a great state.
Passionate is an understatement. Music is who he is, if that makes sense. Most musicians and artists are not happy or satisfied without their passion. I know i cannot hardly go one single day without music.
@@kellyenorris5054I am aware of the fact that he's got Lyme disease. Are you certain he experiences light sensitivity, or are you simply stating that Lyme disease can cause light sensitivity?
@@saintsfan342000 Hall has mentioned in interviews that his eyes have always been sensitive to harsh lights and that Lyme aggravated the condition. And a friend who used to work at a studio where he recorded said he never wore sunglasses inside under normal lighting.
Agreed 100% In another well all interviews I’ve seen if brought up he’s mentioned They are 2 separate entities. Each are different yet each give what is needed and respectively contributes 100% of themselves!
When. I first heard Hall &Oates, I was in high school. I moved to San Fran and the next year I saw them in a theater, that could hold maybe 500 people. 1979, In 1980 they were at Oakland Colosium. I saw them every year from 1979-1983, they stayed up late many nights studying for nursing exams. Now I'm in my 60's and still listen to them and of course watch "Darryl's house." I have 5 grandson and a granddaughter that can sing. Thinking of starting a garage band, they have grown up listening to Hall and Oates.
RIP T-Bone, obviously. I wonder what the falling out was with Daryl and Paul, Hall and Oates and Daryl’s House lead guitar player before Shane came in. Not that I don’t love Shane, he’s a lovely addition, but Paul was *so* gorgeous to look at!
I've watched Live at Daryls, it's fabulous. He's still so talented & the guests, well I'd love to be there. I hadn't even heard of Train before I watched it. It'd be like group therapy for me if I had an invite. Very unlikely although I'm willing to beg. 👍😊
I think you can see through his sunglasses that he didn't like being introduced as "the lead singer of Hall & Oates" 😁. He always said that Daryl Hall & John Oates are two different identities that chose to work together.
Deca Cards52 he doesn’t have a relationship with him, in an 2003 interview he said he had 3 kids, but since then his son even had an interview and said lots of personal things and why he doesn’t speak to him
Daryl tried to have a relationship with his son Darren. He gave Darren a job with his band, but from what I heard, Darren didn't show up on time, didn't work very hard when he did, often came in drunk or stoned, and complained constantly that he should be the band's lead guitar player and co-lead singer. Daryl started out running errands for the Temptations and Gamble and Huff, and he expected his son to pay his dues, too. But Darren wanted to start at the top. I heard he also was mad because Daryl wouldn't buy him a big apartment in New York. (I was told Daryl offered to let Darren move in with him, and Darren was paid enough at his job to afford a decent apartment.)
Daryl is a great singer! as far as him being a great person he falls very very short! he is very rude, nasty, and controlling. The list is full. He once told a woman at one of his concert" leave lady and she was over weight and he continued to say...after she was leaving.." go get a hamburger" that was horrible, disgusting! I knew some who worked for him as well and he as well told me first hand that ' What Daryl wants Daryl gets! in a bad way! His talent rocks and you can't take that away! Daryl knows this and he uses that to his advantage of being a bad person and intonement.
I met him several times over the last 30+ years and have never seen him be anything but humble and almost shy, surprisingly. A couple of times there were some pushy fans I watched him engage with in a more patient way than I would have ever been. And they did not all look like size 0 models. So not sure where this negative stuff is coming from. I find it hard to believe he’d make a comment about weight or “go get a hamburger”. Especially at his age and at this stage in the game.
One of my friends used to work at a studio where he records a lot. She said Daryl is intense when he's working, but a very nice guy. She's a size 14, and she said Daryl was always polite and treated her with respect. As for him getting what he wants ... sure he does. It's his name on the line, so of course he wants to do things his way. I would, too.
@@glauciam1769 I got the chance to meet Daryl after a show a couple of months ago, and he was incredibly nice, not just to me, but to everyone who was backstage. I could tell he was tired, but he greeted everyone, chatted, and posed for pictures for well over an hour. What I remember most, though, was him telling the guys in his band how phenomenal they were, and that he didn't know what he'd do without them. John was a real sweetheart, too, as were all the guys in the band. You could tell they are all friends and have tremendous respect for each other.
