“I had my blinker on! What’s your problem? I nearly hit you but I didn’t. I had my blinker on. Calm down with your horn!” Then walks off not waiting for answer.
Still doesn't mean you just start changing lane even if his blinkers on the cammer has no obligation to let him in in start stop traffic with next to no time to react. And why he ask a question and not wait to get his answer
@@EmotionlessNeet he said it was an accident though, probably didnt need to get out the ute but people make mistakes like that. Horning for that long is kidna cringe tho
Australian dash cam owners seem to accelerate towards easily avoidable accidents just because they technically have the right of way and are happy to show that off here
Dash cams have curved lenses that make the vehicles appear to be travelling faster than they are. This can give the impression they are "rushing" toward a collision.
Well if they "technically have right of way" meaning the other driver is cutting them off what do you expect. Indicators do not give right of way either its to indicate your in tensions making other aware of what they are, then you may see some courtesy and be let in instead of hey I'm moving over there gtfo of my way.
@@ozzybloke4830 The road rules in every state can still hold drivers at fault for accidents caused by others breaking said rules if the accident was easily avoidable
It should be mandatory for new drivers to watch at the minimum 8-10 hours of these videos so they can see what it is like being on both ends of when drivers actually make a mistake to when drivers purposefully make stupid decisions on the roads that could damage cars, other property, or injure people. I find myself learning from these videos, not just entertainment.
I’ve always said parents should make their kids watch these compilations. You can learn where the potential is for moronic behaviour of other road users, and you can avoid potential pitfalls yourself. The big one for me after watching these is never cruise along on the left side of a truck. Either accelerate or back off, don’t just sit there!
the requirements for licensing have increased dramatically from when I got my license 20 years ago and has only ended up with a decline in driver ability. Your suggestion, though well meaning, would yield no benefit.
Actually I used to do so when I got my license back in 2010. As result in couple of nearly dramatic accidents for the last decade I always managed to crash my own vehicle but not others. And to be honest I'm kinda sorry about it because they are deserve to share the suffering.
As an Australian I can confirm that the only true Aussie response to anything out the ordinary is "F......cking idiot" or "what the F....cking hell was that" .. I love our use of curse words in everyday interactions!
@@leopoldstotch7711 the phone number and all is visible on that truck so if it was a hit n run, hes gotta be missing half his brain. to not only have that happen but then to think they can just keep driving is astounding
Some people are just oblivious to their own fuck ups. Seems to be quite a common trend on Scotty's, as well. People complaining about other drivers but running amber/red lights and breaking road rules themselves.
Shirtless tradie: "relax! it was an accident! I can see you!" Also shirtless tradie: **IS THE ONE YELLING** **BLIND AS A BAT** **KNOWS FULL WELL IT WAS NOT AN ACCIDENT**
6:03 what could go wrong , it's wet, DC car doing 115kph, car rh lane seems to be tail gating , van driver being impatient -- could have backed off to be behind the last car in the RH lane . Yep, that the recipe for someone not getting there/home on time
16:20 The lady in the Red Kadjar is my grandma. She never swears. So, it is unlikely that she'll ever say shit and bloody in the same sentence ever again
I always think about doing things like that, because it would be hilarious. Unfortunately I always think of the unhinged person that may be tipped over the edge by it and start stabbing things.
@LobbyDaLobster Or swinging metal bars at your head after smashing in your window. That's no fun either😏. Definitely alot of unhinged fuckwits out there. Every psycho comes across a bigger psycho though....then Karma repays them for you👌🏻.
1:20 People need to be taught that those specific dashed lines mean "give way". Yeah it's polite to let people in but they're under no obligation to do so. If you look at the end of a road and it has the same dashed lines but someone has nicked the giveway sign, it still means giveway. Also good to remember in case a copper thinks better and tries to treat it as a stop sign, when the road markings say otherwise.
Sometimes it would be nice to get an update on certain situations. For instance when the Skip Bin Hauler sideswiped the woman's car. He seemed to come out of nowhere.
As a truck driver 15+ yrs I reckon it's getting worse, very rarely u see cars & trucks with a safe distance between each other most drivers sit up ur backside and wonder why theres accidents no one cares. Goodluck out there people 😉👍
@@seanworkman431 Literally every day on the South Gippsland and Monash Freeways on the way to work. On the south gippy no joke trucks and all cars merging into the left lane and it still moves faster than the right lane 😂
@@seanworkman431 The problem is too, so many people leave like 15-20 car wide gaps especially in the right lanes. Literally stops traffic from flowing. Keep a reasonable one but not from Sydney to Melbourne. It’s ridiculous.
The driver of every vehicle visible at the start - including the DC driver - are idiots. None are driving to the conditions - all are over the speed limit in rain.
There is something fundamental missing from a lot of these drivers. The need to drive, the right to drive, and the ability to drive are three completely separate things.
I really didn't get that. Why illegally pull up onto the zebra crossing after correctly leaving it clear before the clip started? Were they still trying to process what the SUV did and their initial reaction was that the SUV was queue jumping, therefore they blocked the space even though that's not what the SUV did? Best explanation I can come up with anyway.
@@unsafevelocities5687 when I once witnessed some real out of the ordinary wtf driving it took me a few seconds to process what just happened. I don't think she was trying to block them but rather had a brain fart and instinctively pulled up to the car in front, forgetting she had stopped short for the crossing.
3:14. Not an idiot, just a genuine mistake that could've resulted in an accident. Props to that driver for not proceeding or reversing without checking. 👍🏽 And also the shorthand approx value for PI.
I ran a red light once when the sun surprised me from behind the corner in a less familiar neighbourhood. I paid the fine and am suffering the demerits. I didn't contest the penalty caused by the circumstance because things could've gotten a lot worse. Thanks to that incident, I'm a better driver today.
14:10 - cracks the shits when driver moves to over taking lane while not overtaking then immediately moves over to over taking lane while not overtaking 🤦🏻♂️😂
@@Banana_Split_Cream_Buns yeah id always stop for a map of tassie.. maybe they could post a screenshot on every traffic pole to give you something to look at while stopping, hottie of the month, babe of the local area, that would be great 👌 Im joking of course but what about some useful info, cheapest petrol price, cricket scores.. i dunno something and it turns off 2 seconds before green
Yeah indicating right, pulling left, when it's not a melbourne tram line / j-turn crossing? wedon'tdothathere.jpg Gotta love the other guy trying to rip his handbrake and get out for a good yell. Mate, you started it, and you're c - - kblocking the road. smh.
@@rileydavey My guess is that the group spilling onto the road either instigated the driver or touched(read bashed) his/her car, driver got pissed off, did a U-ey and came back for vengeance. Drivers don't just run pedestrians down for no reason, every action has a reaction. But what the driver did was unacceptable as they used the vehicle as a deadly weapon.
3:28 - What shits me is how cyclists demand to be treated with respect on the roads, when just this week I have seen half a dozen cyclists sail straight through red lights, ride in the middle of the road, pull out into traffic without looking, etc... If cyclists want to be treated with respect, perhaps they should look at their own shithouse behaviour first.
This is why cyclists are despised right across Australia, they either don't know or abide by the road rules because they think they're on a bicycle. Most of the ones we see on dashcam footages disobeying the road rules are Darwin Award nominees and potential organ donors. It's just a matter of time before their luck runs out.
The guy in the truck at beginning needs to know his road rules and any others that presume they can change lanes....indicators dont give you right of way....rule says...when you change lanes you must give way to any vehicle in the lane you are moving to this rule applies even if your lane is ending and you have to cross lane line.
Looking at how the one who pushed the perp to the wall landed, think he's busted his collar bone - been there, done that and held my arm in the exact same way. Hope he makes a good recovery.
Hilarious. People think their blinker gives them an entitlement… they need to take off their blinkers and use their INDICATOR the way it is intended- it indicates your intention, and it’s up to to you to make a safe move - do not just expect people to move for you… the first video it clearly indicated that the little truck driver hadn’t planned his trip very well … in traffic like that you really need to plan a little earlier 🤦♀️ what is wrong with people? Honestly? You’re gonna get to your destination a few seconds later than if there wasn’t traffic. Why be a spanner?
ngl, feel bad for the person @ 7:56. unfortunately its a considerably easy mistake to make since that car was blinding their vision, although its a great reminder about the importance of being patient and not rushing when you cant be sure if it is safe or not.
Don't laugh at me but I'm too s are to turn right...left turn then either u turn at next set of lights or turn right into side street...takes me longer maybe but I can't deal with the stress of waiting for 2 clear lanes 😅
@@ritac2508 I do the same tbh. If it’s heavy traffic no way in hell am I pulling out blind. It’s amazing how many people do, as there are some people that will be coming down and won’t see the person pulling out until the last second. Just avoid that situation altogether
@ritac2508 Leaving one of my mate's houses/streets puts you immediately on to a right turn across 4 lanes (2 each way). When it's busy, I take the long way around. My car's a fuel guzzler so I prefer not to go long and there's lights the longer way that get busy but I'll prefer that way every time. The amount of times I had to wait....and wait...then launch my car at a gap to get in my needed lane convinced me the other way's better😏. Do whatever makes you the most comfortable, matey👌🏻.
What's there to talk about? It happens - that's why subsequent vehicles in on-ramps should not assume the vehicles ahead will be able to enter smoothly.
@@AnotherDoug This is on the north side of Coffs Harbour where traffic gets really bottlenecked during the holidays. It's the only town between Sydney and Brisbane that isn't bypassed IIRC. Most locals use an alternate route through town but this is where all the traffic merges back onto the Motorway. That merge lane is horribly short. The traffic around this area is horrible even outside of holidays. Isn't uncommon to wait 5min to be able to turn right as the traffic never ends and there are no traffic lights north of here. I remember one year the traffic was backed up 10km each side of town in the holidays with waits of well over an hour to get past Coffs..
PSA: A flashing indicator signal light (blinker) does NOT give you automatic...or legal...right-of-way. The merging vehicle is REQUIRED to yield right-of-way. PSA: Never tell them you have a dashcam until AFTER they lie to the police and/or file fraudulent insurance claims...then hit them with the truth bomb! PSA: Try to always call out the plate number...the camera doesn't always pick it up correctly. I might have to go on vacation in Australia...from the looks of it...I can ignore and/or break every traffic law on the books most of the time :)
Why do people see the tinyest gap between someone and decide its a good idea to change lanes instantly without properly indicating. That's not how things work and human reflexes and physics don't work like that when it comes to cars. Lucky brake systems have come such a long way honestly

8:10 In that situation you don't drive around them and give them a pass. You drive up to within an inch of their front bumper and make them reverse back down the road to the end of the line.
It might be to check that the other vehicle has stopped, that there isn't another vehicle following them, to double-check that you did, in fact, have a green light - many reasons and all valid to avoid another (near-)collision.
