Ride along in a Greensburg police vehicle as Indiana police officers chase a stolen school bus that tore through farmland, barrelled down rural county roads and attempted to evade officers in a cemetery.
@@joannecusaac4789 they cant shoot out of a moving vehicle it isnt the movies they shoot while driving because bullets can hit innocent bystanders especially a school bus that could be filled with kids
My 2006 cvpi had 102,000 on it when I got it. Far from fresh and clean, but still holding up to everything I put thru. Not necessarily fast, not quick and a bit piggish in certain turning situations....but a damn fine car that spins both tires, can take a curb at twenty five plus mph, fits a driver and four buddies with enough trunk for a weekends gear, rides as nice at seventy on the freeway as it does on a north country fire road, has a/c and is capable of 20 mph and 15+ in town. It's pushing 258,000 with nothin but oil changes and one transmission. But I knew what I was doing dropping into low and drifting thru 3/4 of a roundabout almost every day on my way home from work.
Leslie he has 37 arrest? Wow yah know I just give up. The law could care less nowadays what anyone does. A person or a group of people could have been killed. Unfortunately a lot of people just don't care anymore.
Some people are just doing it for attention now because the soft on crime stuff lately. They do what they want because they'll be let out the next day. And they just see how far they can go. [Edit] I'm pretty sure this was a joy ride. Being arrested and let go the next day 37 times for other crimes, he was getting bored and explored this option for entertainment.
@@brosephbroman7564 p sure hes not getting ouit the next day lol also, three strikes policy applies in many states. Meaning you do 3 felonies and you're done, possibly for life.
I'll say one thing; Drive it like you stole it! applies. He cant outrun the police, but he sure is hard to stop. That's ok, it only adds up charges. I'm surprised a farmer did not shoot him.
I HAVE to say two things. That guy REALLY knew how to drive a school bus.. and I never knew they made those busses so robust. Why? One last thing, all school busses should be equipped with a remote kill switch.
The farmers should have the right to start shooting and disabling vehicles to stand their ground and protect their fields if the cops believe they can just drive back and forth and do burn offs and donuts with forty pursuit vehicles....this is a bunch of BS.
School busses and orange traffic cones are one of the easiest and most stolen things 😂 why do they do it? Usually because alcohol or drugs and the easibility
They at the time were not sure if kids were involved. It was necessary with a lot of unknown factors, and until you’re in the position maybe you can hold the judgment.
Was on the job for 22 years in NYC. Tell me how more than 3 squads would have made a difference whether children or not. In fact, had there NOT been so many lights and sirens trying to 'coral' the bus, but merely following at a safe distance, studies show that the driver would have been less stressed and would not have been driving as erratically... which would have been much safer had students been involved.
I see thousands of dollars in crop damage. No consideration for the farmers have that many cars in fields. Helicopter was up, all that horse power and they couldn't keep up. They need a short bus for this ridiculous chase.
It was kind of a bit of less coordinated overkill, wasn't it? With a chopper above they've could be more strategical instead of ripping them fields apart.
Agree! Maybe they should be more thoughtful and use tactics and coordination instead of relying on horsepower. It was kind of a bit of less coordinated overkill, wasn't it? With a chopper above they've could be more strategical instead of ripping them fields apart.
Not sure how the driver thought he could escape with a helicopter overhead and a swarming pack of squad cars following. Just wishful thinking, I suppose. Still, gotta admit he gave it a good try.

This was the best day of those officers lives. You know they’re having a blast. Who has to pay for the damaged fields??? Couldn’t tell if there was anything planted in them.
@@geoculus5606 Yeah, one could've followed the bus and the rest stay on the road, now you got 10 cars each making his own road through sprouting fields.
@@geoculus5606exactly. Joyriding. No way ALL those cops needed to follow into the fields and every cop taking a different path adding more lanes of destruction. ESP when they weren’t following into the field to attempt a PIT or something. Just unnecessary blasting through the crops for fun. Like 20+ law enforcement vehicles present. All they had to do was during the field and send in a couple of chase vehicles. Wait for him to get stuck or come back out into their waiting hands. That was total bs and the departments involved should all be sued for negligence and damages. Ridiculous.
I can not imagine how the farmers felt about all of this. The amount of time they have to spend preparing, planting and harvesting that land is immeasurable. Wouldn't it have been better to simply track the jerk via the helicopter and wait for the bus to run out of fuel?
It's not about the school bus so much as being able to set up a perimeter when this dumpster fire on wheels comes to a stop. You don't want to go through a chase like this AND lose the suspect.
Why does it take 15-20 or more officers to chase a stolen school bus? look at the mileage wear and tear damage to the cop cars, the money for overtime, what if there was a real emergency in another part of the state, what about the farmers feild, propably just planted his crops, damage to the cemetary whatever, WHY 15-20 cops and probably more than i see.WHY WHY WHY WHY ??????
I'm pretty sure this was a joy ride. Being arrested and let go the next day 37 times for other crimes he was getting bored and explored this option for entertainment.
How many cops for one arrest…..but if you call them they are always busy 🤷🏻♂️ once the helicopter has it in its sights you only need 2 or 3 cop cars maximum. This was a joy ride…for the cops? How many thousands of crops did they destroy…not to mention fencing?
WTF??? With the helicopter above the chase, why was it necessary for half the Indiana police force to continue the chase? And how many crops were damaged or destroyed by following the bus through the fields? Don't these LEO's have anything better to do? Good grief!

Talk about a bad return on our investment as tax payers, we bought the bus and paid a bunch of morons to do maximum damage to farmers fields and their cars we also paid for chasing a bus we paid for to cause so much damage to fields and their police cars that the service repairs will cost more than the dam bus they're chasing and we get the tab for the bus, their wages, the car damage, and all the property damage they unnecessarily caused. I don't feel safer or consider this arrest a success in any form or fashion. Epic failure.

@@editman145 Yeah, very wreckless and certainly caused more damage then did good, especially considering they have radios and are in pursuit of a vehicle that has zero chance of eluding them that will eventually run out of gas. WTF for sure...lol
Greensburg PD really dropped the ball not allocating funds for a *Pursuit Tractor* to handle situations *just* like this. Said it for years. Too little Too late, boys.
Thanks for the tour of Greensburg. Can’t say I’m a fan of the never ending “siren & DJ radio” background music, but I appreciate the LEO guided tour nonetheless. 🤣 I do have to say that as someone who’s grown up in the middle of farmland USA (I’ve worked/volunteered & my kids have performed at the world’s largest outdoor agriculture show, for many, many years. Our city mascot is a cow + there’s 12 cows to every 1 human in our county + our water tower literally looks like a glass of milk…straw included…with the city slogan of “Got Milk?“ on the side) So, I can only imagine how pissed off all of those poor farmers are simply because 1 idiot & an army of cop cars shredded their early growth fields!! Same sympathy goes out to all of those who now have tire/skid marks across their loved ones grave because Mr. Dumb-Nuts thought he could hide a gigantic yellow bus from a hoard of cops in a cemetery!! 🤦🏻♀️ My absolute favorite part has to go to the phallic looking crooked tree on the left 16:30 ALSO…CAN WE GET THE CCTV FOOTAGE FROM INSIDE THE BUS?? I would absolutely LOVE to see this as*hole’s thought process & reactions throughout this entire incident. It would be educational & hilariously entertaining
That could have been quite an exciting day for the schoolchildren. Hope the driver had to write out "I will never steal a school bus again" one million times ...
I guarantee that half of the Interceptor Utilities were not the EcoBoost where it comes standard with skid plates. And I guarantee the department did not opt to get the skid plate option. As low as the sit they probably all got holes in their oil plans. I’ve done it a few times by going over rocks 3 inches high while on patrol. They are not designed for off road use at all. And looking at the lighting packages on some of those cars. The department went with the cheapest options across the board, including cheap non-major brand lighting that can hardly be seen. And very very little back warning where it counts.
I agree with you. Your comment will likely get lost, though. This chase needed some better leadership. Lots of mistakes here. Starting in Ohio and moving to Indiana, there was a huge response, and everyone was getting a hard-on to get a piece of the action. Thank god for Mr. Baldy who told everyone to chill out once there was already a pileup on top of the suspect.

@@editman145 and how exactly can you coordinate a pursuit where the suspects chooses random paths and roads? Having a helicopter means nothing in a rural area. But unless you actually have something other than RU-vid law enforcement experience you would know that.
This dude's driver's license should be suspended for the remainder of his life. If that happens, he would be forced to.... wait for it.... ride the bus for the remainder of his life. Such beautiful irony.......
@@present3348 Dude, I was making a joke about the irony the guy could lose his license for stealing and recklessly driving a bus, then be forced to ride a bus as a result. Yes, there are other forms of transportation (e.g. walking, biking, taxi/uber, etc.). Think about it.
Man, in 1969 at 21 years old when I returned home from Vietnam, I traded a 60 Chevy impala for a '65 Dodge Coronet Florida SHP pursuit car. 426 wedge ...what a sleeper!! Best and most fun car ever and never failed to do exactly what I wanted from it. Suspension on my car was phenomenal and yet still rode decent. At 75 now, zzzI still love to hear the sounds of these police engines during the chase.😎Sic'em big dog!!
As a CDL with passenger endorsement, I hate to say this guy would not pass the course. I'm actually surprise that bus stayed upright and it took dozen + of police vehicles to pursue it
The school bus offroads better than a HumVee. Who woulda thunk it. This is almost crazier than a movie script. Forty cop cars getting punked all over the countryside. Reminds me of Smokey & the Bandit II.
Jackie Gleason as Buford T. Justice starring in: Hail to the bus driver, bus driver, bus driver, Hail to the bus driver, bus driver-man He screams and he cusses, He rams other buses. Hail to the bus driver, bus driver-man Hail to the bus driver, bus driver, bus driver, Hail to the bus driver, bus driver-man He runs from police, As he drives off the streets. Hail to the Bus driver, bus driver-man.🎶 Reminds me or the Simpsons Episode when Principal Skinner starts driving the bus and tells Ralph Wigam to shut up. 😂 There needs to be a point where someone tells some of the officers to return to normal patrol.
If it were up to me, 3 year mandatory prison sentence for running from the police. And who was watching the fort while every cop in a 20 mile radius was chasing this bus??
Nah, he’ll get a little fine and be out in no time. That’s about how it seems to work these days. Despite the large amount of resources that it took to corral him. He didn’t do nuttin’ much just a simple failure to stop. Oh, yeah, stealing a bus. That is serious wrist slapping stuff.
They all want to be on scene when it goes to hell, even if logic tells them to breath & back off. The department mechanics are gonna be very busy, that's obvious.
Dang school bus is giving them hell! I found out a long time ago that you can’t outrun a police radio! I’m 54 years old, and I just started watching these car chases with the PIT maneuvers consistently about a month ago and I’m hooked. It’s like you’re riding in the front seat with the trooper. It’s awesome! lol 😂

Those poor farmers. School bus and police cars destroying so many crops. Was completely unnecessary too. Hopefully bus thief gets charged restitution for all damages to the fields
OMG That chase had more cops than Politicians have Lies!! The 21st century Keystone Kops! I'm dying laughing.... They even brought the dog, but forgot to teach him to pee on the tires of the bus (-; And yes it's the farmers who took the biggest hit(s). As usual,
