People who leave negative or hateful comments are just sad, miserable, and depressed human beings. I think you are awesome and I enjoy watching your videos. I think it is so cool that people can make money doing gig work and setting their own hours. I am disabled now, but I wish this option had been available when I was younger. I would’ve loved to do that when my kids were in school and earn extra money. Keep on dashing!
❤ l was told get a real job, l was a nanny and house organizer and cleaner insulting me l said l disagree with them and this fits my situation at the time) by whos standards do people come off its disgusting and l don't like that comment towards you either your an inspiration excellent mom and hard worker ❤ that person is of low vibration we are to encourage each other and give good advice not judge l had to address this mention to let you know mama keep on doing what you are doing God is blessing you and much better things are approaching you and your beautiful family ❤🙏💪
People will complain “no one wants to work” and at the same time put someone down for doing a job. I’m glad you’re doing so well. honestly this is very eye opening. Being at an office job is tiring and draining and it’s rough
You know what also, I understand now why nobody wants to work: you read the job description and it’s like 3 to 4 jobs bc companies want to save money and hire 1 person for like 3job titles unreal!!! 👀👀👀 soo crazy if they think someone is actually going to take that and or if they do they will eventually Quit!!!
This in my opinion was the best video you have done! This was spot on...thank you for all your hard work! I enjoy watching you work at your real job! 😀
You have a real job! You are a wonderful Mother! You are providing a service to people and you are good at it! I wish I had the courage to leave my “real job “ & do what you do! I love watching your channel! 🙏🏻❤️
Ok, im going to blunt and rude. First of all, the person that made that comment could lose their job tomorrow. Nothing is guaranteed. So, while that person is looking down on you, they better make sure that they have their own affairs in order in case they are terminated. Second, i learned this years ago that your job doesn't give a damn about their employees, for the most part. Your company's main focus is to make money. If you can't help them achieve that, then you are expendable. The company doesn't give two shits if you have bills or health problems when they terminate employees. That is why my main and only loyalty is to myself. If i find a better paying job, I'm gone. I put myself first. If you doing gig work works for you, then do it. Don't let some keyboard gangster make you feel bad. As long as your bills are paid and kids taken care of are what matters.
And likely not someone smart enough to figure out how to make money doing gig work if they think it isn’t a “real job”. This is my part time job but hour per hour cash is higher than the one I’ve had for 12 years.
People are so dumb . It's people making 1500+ a week doing gig work and 3k a month on RU-vid . So they make 9k a month way more than these real jobs 😂😂😂
I make $1500 a week no BS in Philly and suburbs. Two phones one has door dash and the other has Uber eats. Shop and Pay REALLY pays because the customers appreciate you getting their groceries and they tip way more than expected.
I watch your RU-vid because of your grit and tenacity is so inspiring. Don’t waste your time with the nasty comments , you have real fans. I am going to keep watching until I see you get keys to your new house. You got this!
Ah yes the ‘real job’ comment. I”d love to know what these’real jobs’ are. I haven’t had a W2 job since January 2020 and love it! My last 2 W2 jobs laid me off, one of them I was at for 18 years. If only it were so easy for all of us to find a real job that pays well and treats us like humans rather than numbers on a spreadsheet.
I agree it is a job we make money and plenty of it to pay bills and we file taxes so in my mind that's a job we aren't living on the government. So when people say stuff online about a real job why isn't gig work defined as a job?
Your commentary, running concurrently with video of you door dashing, is a stunning commentary on the state of employee/employer relations in the U.S. in 2024. How the income and flexibility of what is a lot of times just called a "gig" job outpaces the traditional career path us boomers have fixed in our mind. Thanks for opening my eyes.
I’m so sorry that someone was so ignorant to leave that comment. I’m exhausted just watching all that you do everyday. Your son being in the hospital for a month was unimaginable to me for you and your family. You are strong, beautiful and so determined. You juggling your job and family as well as entertaining us is so impressive to watch. I can’t even imagine how damn tired you must be keeping all the balls in the air. I absolutely commend you for doing gig work full time. You are your own boss. You are in complete control of your own destiny. Which is absolutely amazing!!! I was at a job for 20 years. It was a sales and service job that at the beginning I absolutely loved. I made great money and had incredible insurance. I retired from that job in 2017 at 55 years old. I received a pension and they still provide my health insurance. I was able to retire so young not because of them but because of ME!!! I gave my life to that job. I made a good living and I also was so good at the job I earned numerous vacations (twice to Hawaii, twice to the Bahamas, Vail Colorado, Florida more times than I can remember and the list goes on). I also had two serious nervous breakdowns (which I was out of work for 3 months each time) because of that job and their ridiculous expectations and making me feel that I was never good enough. Their demands just got more ridiculous as the years went on. I was and am a very hard worker. They broke me twice!!! But I learned a lot. I know myself better than I ever thought I would with therapy. Thank God I had a union to protect me during those times when I needed them. Now I am retired with a social security( I took it at 62) and a pension and a good amount of savings in the bank. My husband and I do DD and Uber Eats every weekend. We are putting that $ towards vacations and house improvements. I love it! The freedom to decline any order I want is so refreshing. Anyway, this post is longer than I anticipated. Mama, I am in complete awe of you. You are living the dream making $ and spending quality time with your children. I think I’m your biggest fan. Keep being your amazing self! Please also take a little time to take care of yourself. One day you will have that house you always dreamed of having for your family😊
I have a special needs son and I’m his caregiver. I am so thankful to be able to work for instacart because I can help my husband with income. Working for instacart also allows me to work when I can. I don’t have to worry about being laid off or fired for not being able to go to work when my son is having issues. Mama I am so sorry that someone left such a rude comment. Sending you lots of love. ❤
I’m proud of you. Jobs aren’t what they once were. I love that with gig apps you can find a schedule that works for you. Delivering food and groceries is an honorable work. Keeping shining.
Ur channel keeps getting recommended to me, I watched a few videos and now a loyal subscriber 👍🏻 I’m debt free at 53 and ur an inspiration to anyone trying to get out of debt. Ur videos are a fun watch and u are pure awesomeness, a joy to watch ❤
You know what's also sad? The fact that the ppl leaving those comments would never come say that to your face. They hide behind a computer screen and tear ppl down, while patting themselves on the back for being perfect. So as long as you're not doing harm to anyone, you just keep doing you and taking care of business!!!
I've been enjoying your videos very much as of late. I'm not a gig worker but I am an entrepreneur who makes money that's far from a typical "job". You've been earning my views with your spunky attitude and entertaining video style but today this video earned my respect. Keep doing you Meaty Mama! ❤
You're a wise woman and caring mama, not less than anyone based on the work you do. Ignore comments from bitter people who likely are, as you suggested, unhappy with their own work situations. You may not realize it but you're producing an important documentary with your channel. Wishing you well.
I absolutely loved this video!! Your words are so true and I bet they hit home for many viewing. I just started doing my “unreal” job as a dasher part time. I’m retired and would never want to work for anyone again at a “real” job! 30 years of stress was enough! Keep doing you! God Bless. ❤
I worked at a grocery store for 20 years My knees hips n back are bone to bone now can’t prove it’s work related. I don’t own a home I rent I retired am in great fear of rent increase . I wish I could do door dash like you. Ignore the haters - You work hard God bless you and stay strong … I watch all your videos n like them 😊
Exactly!!! Well said!! I couldn't of responded any better. Meaty Mama 💯 bravo, bravo, bravo 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Not everyone will allow themselves to be controlled by the system.
People are Ridiculous! I have worked for 36 years and I HAVE NEVER made as much money, nor had as much Peace as I have doing Gig work! Mainly Door Dash! I was a full time Dasher for 4 and a half straight years then,do to over saturation, from people quitting their Quote on Quote,"Real Jobs"I had to get a so called, Real Job as a School Bus Driver! And guess what? My so called fake job( Dasher) still pays me MORE than my so called Real Job( Sxhool Bus Driver) so I am so freaking happy you broke this down for those dumb asses! I LOVE DASHING AND THE FREEDOM AND MONEY IT HAS BROUGHT ME FOR ALMOST 6 YEARS NOW!❤🎉👍💯
Negative or positive comments help your SEO. People that waste their time with negative comments are the ones that are sad! Keep doing what you are doing.
Don’t take these people serious medical pays less and less for the same job. I wish I had RU-vid and gig work. It’s a great job. Just keep going your blowing up on RU-vid!
My X- friend is a RN and she's absolutely miserable & Negative. She's a EX friend because I can't stand her anymore...so much for all that schooling ! I was a construction worker am a female...❤❤❤'ed my job . Retired at 58 no man because I like my house clean, my toilet seat down and I simply could careless? ITS FREAKING AWESOME...ITS FREEDOM but I get 'awe your alone " 😂 you fools 😂😅
Well as a single man in my 50’s I can say I’m so clean I scared my x away🤷🏼♂️ she couldn’t handle my clean OCD..my car is spotless inside and so is my house…we are a rare breed cause most women are clean not men👍🏻 I need to find a woman with clean OCD😝
@@chrisstephenson8311 I bought a $75.00 toilet seat ( on sale ) that is hydraulic so there's not slamming noise & takes no effort to close . I hear you on the OCD Thingy 😂 I was a cook so my fridge and kitchen is absolutely clean and I find it hard to eat from other people's kitchen. I moved from Boston Massachusetts to West Virginia and don't know but one family. I can't eat anything from their house and it makes me feel awful. Dishes were in dirty water for day's it looked like and the house ....ummm no . I had to explain not a good spot to be put in . Good Luck with your search .
Every time you said Noelle my cat came running. I found him on Christmas Eve and he was my first Noelle. Those haters have no clue what it’s like to enjoy working and not just going through the motions for 25+ years. You’re brave not sad.
I applaud you! If I wasn’t retired on a shoestring income I’d do the same thing. And everybody needs to know we will all outgrow our incomes due to the nature of fiat money. My advice is to make enough money to buy a few acres and put a small house on it. That’s what I did and I can easily garden and get a couple of hens. You don’t need a fortune to retire if you plan on living simply.
This response is so amazing. Real jobs caused me so much stress. I love dashing as my job. It pays my bills, gives me the freedom to schedule work around my life NOT live life around a work schedule made by someone else. I travel more because I can work anywhere. My mental health is so much better as a gig worker. I don't think I'll ever want to get another "real job". Keep doing what you're doing & ignore the haters! ❤❤❤
Yeah... Go back to school, get way deeper into debt, only to end up being able to get hired at a job you didn't need a degree for. Great advice, just genius!
Mama it is a real job so I feel sorry for folks who leave trash comments. I quit my job today or should I say I resigned. I got crap raise. I'll be ok cause I have other work. It's a struggle for us. We will keep going. Watching
I have two degrees, a full-time job, and I still do gig work on the side. People are judgmental, but they dont know our stories. Keep up the good work. Love your videos.
🎯 👏🏾👏🏾 well said! Any job that you work hard and use your hard earned money to take care of yourself & your family is a REAL JOB! Periodt! No one has the authority to decide which occupation is a REAL job!! Every job has a purpose, including if a man/ women is a stay at home parent! I applause everyone who has public service jobs .. sanitation workers, waitresses, police officers, teachers, house & office cleaning staff, cafeteria cooks at schools, security jobs, delivery service workers, cashiers, landscapers, construction workers, fire men/women, social workers, Uber/lyft/ taxis drivers, daycare workers , military service members , hotel staff , Medical assistants ect These are the people who keep our country going & more that I know who is out there busting their butts to keep a roof over their heads & food on their tables! So many white collar workers in the corporate industry , who has so called REAL jobs are miserable dealing with toxic , hostile, micromanagement, layoffs, low raises or no raises, cutthroat competition, Ageism, discrimination, long tedious hours with no OT (salaried ) ect This young woman is doing an awesome job doing a job that is convenient and financially rewarding for her family situation! Life is about doing what suits you and your family needs! Not pleasing STRANGERS & their brainwashed concept of what true success is in the workforce!
❤❤❤ That was the best heart felt speech I've heard in a long time. Thank you, girl. I think you are doing a real job. I wish I had your courage, even to do my own RU-vid channel. I would try door dash, but being disabled wouldn't work out. I think you're doing a terrific job
I hear what you’re saying and those people that say mean shit probably have no job or life . But here’s the thing….gig and YT is not sustainable. No retirement unless you wisely invest and could be gone tomorrow. Also living in a budget - not carrying a lot of debt and having good credit is a must when navigating the real world and buying a home.
I think you are an amazing inspiration and very entertaining too. I watch all your videos to the end. I have a disabled child too and I’ve health conditions. I had to leave my ‘proper job” bc I never seen my kids and I was worn out. I’m working on finding something very flexible that pays well. You’ve nailed it! I think the person that commented negated to include your earnings from RU-vid. I wish you growth, health, wealth and happiness ❤
Door dash and Uber eats were so helpful to me during the pandemic when only the restaurant were closed for dining .I ordered 5 times a week I respect your work and the fact you are making a honest living.
I try to tip the drivers really well, whether I'm taking a Lyft/Uber ride, or ordering food through doordash, because I know that the drivers rely on tips as their income. If you give a lot, you get blessed in return, and my reward is helping people in any way I can. Thank you for what you do.
I almost fell off my chair when I heard what you had been doing for a living. You gave me hope. I am in the exact same position. Lost my transcription job last May after being in the career 37 years as an independent. I had been working for 14 years for a hospital that decided to close their transcription department. They gave us 11 days notice. They closed it because "it was old school" and decided the doctors should edit their own reports with Dragon. I haven't been able to find any work and have been looking at doing gig work to make ends meet. I've been watching videos of gig workers and it has opened my eyes to the reality of what they do and how hard they work. They are not lazy people who don't want "a real job." Self-employed people have to work a lot harder because they make their paycheck from what they produce instead of just logging hours. I know this from my many years of experience as an independent MT. It takes a lot of courage to step away from a steady , predictable paycheck and make your own way on your own terms. Your video is great and says it all.
Giiirrrlllll…..These companies are out of control…. They will replace you to save a nickel….DoorDash isn’t menial you are a hustler and a good mom. They will take your soul if you let them. The rude comments are probably from trolls anyway 😊
Sorry you have to endure rude comments; you handled it well- with facts, logic and your truth. I have a “real” job (9-5 corporate day job). I also work part time at a major retailer and will be picking up gig work again soon. Traditional old school thinking needs to die. You are doing a great job and more power to you!
Im new to your channel. Bren P. Grace mentioned to subscribe to your channel and I really have enjoyed your videos. You have my respect and admiration. Keep it up!❤
WELL SAID!!!!!! My hat is off to you👏🏼👏🏼 So many people look down on us. But we are so much happier doing this line of work. So the small people can go own thinking whatever they want. We are real winners in the end. And thank you for the bonus of bring factual receipts to the table.
Mama your presentation & words on what kind of jobs people take is amazing. I also blame the government for allowing these big corporations & companies who make big profits to mostly employ part time workers with no benefits which is insane. I retired 2 years ago have since had a full knee replacement & now have severe kidney disease I thank my lucky stars I can be retired & I have my own home. The world everyday seems crazier. I am so happy you found a job you are happier with & have flexible hours for your children!
I enjoy your videos. I started delivering in 2/24. I’m still new to this, but I’ve learned a lot. I’m not making enough on my main job, which I have been working for 23 years, so I started delivering about 15 hours a week. It has helped me immensely. Even when I’m waiting a long time to pick up an order, I’m thankful to be doing this. Best of luck to everyone.
I tend to be a person who serves. I have two masters degrees and still don’t make enough to live so yes… I do these gig jobs too. I see myself serving others and helping them with their food or groceries and hope I am lifting a small burden for them.
You Go Girl! You are killin' it out there!! You are an American entrepreneur!!! You took the risk to step out and learn a new skill in business and you will reap the rewards! Keep up the great work! You also inspire others to win and we thank you!
As someone who just picked up gig work as a side job, I really needed to hear this today !! I really enjoy watching your videos and hearing your perspectives, thanks for putting this out there.
The MOST real and sobering *answer* to the “real job” criticism I’ve ever listened to. I’m really glad that person left that comment, I really am, because you just spoke something supremely helpful to many of us. Thank you
I think what you do is very important. A very good job. And you have it planned out. You take the orders that will make you the most money. Very good business plan. Thank you for the video. I'm a subscriber, and have been watching your videos for awhile now.
You are a thoughtful and arriculate speaker of truth. I really enjoyed your little talk and always enjoy your videos. I always save your videos for evening relax time. Hope the kids are doing well.
This video was so spot on today. I recently uploaded my first video and got my very first hate comment. As always, this was very inspiring!!! Thank you!
I have been a subscriber for some time now. I appreciate and admire your desire to be in a better place financially. Don’t let these comments get you down or derail your goal. Stay tough! ❤
You are doing a REAL job .....dont let anyone tell you other wise.....you work hard and deserve to get paid what you do ...keep doing what you like and be happy ....you go girlie !!!!❤
Hi there, i keep getting your channel recommended to me, and have now subscribed. You are doing a real job, and this is a service that is needed, and everyday your using your customer service skills, to inform the restaurant staff, of which order you are picking up, and then dropping off to the customer.
I've watched several of your videos. I think you do a great job, getting out there and doing what you need to do to support your family. 👍🏾👍🏾 So sorry that you've the ridiculous experience with your former job. You've really opened my eyes about what Dashers go through and how the whole process works. 👏🏾👏🏾 for all that you do. Congrats on advocating for the health/happiness of yourself and your family's. Hang in there. 🙏🏾♥️🙏🏾
I'm new to your channel and just wanted to give you a 👏👏👏. I went to school to learn a "real career", circumstances out of my control happened. And now I'd love to have your "not real" career.
Thank you Meaty Mama for that wonderful, informative topic. This is so true. My Oldest Grandson is close to finishing College, but my youngest Grandson will graduate High School in a year and does not want to go college. His parents are fine with this because he's very intelligent and as sharp as a tack, so I feel you.
I love your videos. I live vicariously through your videos. When I lived in Dunedin I did Instacart. I loved it. I had to move to to Michigan so I love watching you. I miss Florida and I know the places you deliver to. I watch all your videos and sometimes I binge watch your videos. When I did Instacart it was back when COVID 19 was running rampant. So many people jumped on the gig work bandwagon. I didn't get too many orders becaus there was so many IC shoppers . But when I did it was fun and I loved it. I wish I knew about doing Ubereats and doordash back then. I'm so glad you have a thick skin. People are so mean today. I chalk it up to they're jealous. You're a very special lady. Always remember that. I pray for you and your son to have good days. I know you have your struggles and you will be fine. I'm cheering you. God bless
Great video! I think you’re doing great! Don’t let the negative comments get to you. People are just miserable and jealous to see anyone succeed. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for a great video! I worked 30 plus years as an accountant, which I loved and still do from home, I am a part time dasher and love it! Great extra money and gets me out of the house. Keep up the good work Mama!
Who pray tell is going to deliver their food if we were all to get "real" jobs?? Piss on whomever made such a stupid comment to you. This is a real job. We're paying our bills and taking care of our families. In fact, we work our butts off! Keep doing what you're doing! We enjoy watching your videos and look forward to them 😀 😊
Hey! I’ve looked up door dash cause I’m thinking about trying it out for extra income. you popped up! I’m so glad I’ve found you. Us moms have to stick together and do what we have to do! I love your videos! Keep it up! 👍 ❤
That was a well thought out, gracious, and inspiring response. And you did not stoop down to that troll’s level who left that thoughtless and unimaginative comment. You do what is best for your family and yourself, not conform to what’s considered “normal”. After everything that’s happened last several years, there is no such thing as “normal”.
I agree! Your best video yet. As my momma says “you never know what’s bad luck and what’s good luck.” I think you being pushed out of your career in medical transcription will free you up to making more as a RU-vid creator (with Doordash/Ubereats or whatever you’re up to doing). Thanks for sharing!
I love watching your channel, love your personality and enjoy riding along with you as you are making the bucks. I was a medical transcriptionist for 28 years (now retired) and I fully understand and appreciate the struggle you have been through. At one time I was an IC for five different hospitals/clinics/doctors from the West Coast to Kentucky, working 6 am to midnight because my REAL job with reasonable hours and benefits had been outsourced. You go, sister, make them bucks on your terms!!!
You are amazing. An incredible mother which is the hardest most important job there is. Remember when people are kicking you from the back side…there are behind you. Most probably if you had your old job , you would be working for one of these people. Be happy and proud of yourself ❤
