I think the no tippers prefer hand to me because they're paranoid a dasher is going to steal their food. It was definitely noticeable to me when I was raising my acceptance rate and taking some of that trash. Crazy how they will smile in your face and say " appreciate you".
Thank you so much for mentioning your starter problem It's made me realize that I don't always need to turn off my car every time I do a delivery. Especially if I'm barely opening the door and handing it to them. I used to do it because I was thinking about saving gas. I did earn by time when it first came out. Was sent to chipolte and 2 tour busses of school kids were in front of me. Was there 45 mins before order was ready. I don't think i have ever laughed that hard. The order paid $45 for 1 small bag going 3 miles. But now they are such long road trips you need a passport and a mail forwarding address so I don't do it anymore. Thank you for the videos!

So you going "anti culture" of how the people working in these industries providing you with a luxury convenience isn't doing anything. You don't need to do this you can buy (expensive as heck!! But you're not worried about that...) groceries and cook and eat your food that way

It worked with her. I think she has an actual key like me. When my starter was on the fritz, sometimes it could take me like 5-10 minutes before I got lucky and it started. So I dashed just enough to feed myself, not knowing what was wrong, and while I was running into the restaurant or to the door especially if it was a huge parking lot at the bank where somebody worked or something.. I would use my other key without the fob to start the car and the one with the fob to lock it from outside. I couldn’t take a chance that I would be 10 minutes later to a delivery or to a restaurant after I accepted it or have to cancel so I just made sure it was running first and then left it that way. I used to have two with fobs, and a single KEy 🔑 only but one was stolen (along with my very expensive purse - that was a gift which I had a bunch of little sentimental items in in my closet) You think they could’ve at least left my car key? (yes, I know who did it.) I believe that because I have a 2023 loaner right now as opposed to my 2013 (that just received a new motor and I’m supposed to go pick it up in the morning and I see on the report it needs /it has a torn axle. Aside from tires and an alignment. Therefore, I’m hoping when they open in the morning it turns out that’s not super expensive and I have a loaner for another day. 😂otherwise, I’m gonna be back to no Car like the two weeks plus until I got the loaner. But I’m very happy with Hyundai and that they covered the motor even though despite not quite being to 50,000 miles it is a 10 year old car. Anyway, the loaner I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t lock it from outside and that’s with the car off. I didn’t realize you had to be a little bit further away from the car. SMH 🤦🏻♀️
My car is a 2022. I have a fob and can’t lock it with it running using the fob. I have a button on the outside handle I push that locks it. I never shut my car off dashing but it is locked if unattended
@@kjlane01 interesting - I have a 2023 and you can't lock it by pushing the outside handle button - if the car is running or there's another fob inside the car - guess all models differ

Earn by time is $15.25 in my area, I use it often. I make close to the same as I would if I did it normally unless it’s like dinner on a Friday night. Missed your videos, I’m glad you’re back!
I tried EBT a few times and I declined the first 2 orders and ended my dash 😅😅😅😅 I cant do it, I have to know the full pay out up front. Also a majority of restaurants on EBT in my market I wont go to anyways because they are too slow or almost always no tippers like fast food.
Restaurants too slow...EBT... You do see the connection and how it's not a downside, right? XD Tips are fairly rare anyway so you might as well eat without putting wear in your vehicle.
And it goes against my basic principle of not taking anything lower than five bucks per order. You could do four orders in one hour and get $20 an hour
There are two reasons to do earn by time: 1. you're trying to get your acceptance rate up or 2. it's very busy and all the restaurants have long waits/there's a lot of traffic. But in most situations, it's trash.
The only time that I do earn by time is when I deliver in one particular area where the customers usually tip, the drive times are long due to curvy roads and the wait times are long at the pickups. I usually avg 20-25 an hr in that area with earn by time. Any place else, the earn by time sucks. You get mostly no-tip or low-tip orders for long mileage. Like you said, it's the orders no one else will take that get funneled to earn by time drivers.
You should schedule out a week in advance. If you can’t make the block you’re not penalized for it. Honestly I found that if you can keep your AR above 50% you do get better paying orders. I made $23/hr in my area tonight.
That's market dependent. Meaty Mama has already been a top-dasher a few times in the past with high priority before. if there's too many low-ball offers, and not enough high-paying orders in your market, then it's simply not worth maintaining a high AR.
You probably have to lock your door manually with the key "not button" because the button probably has a safety feature. My car is the same way if the car is still running with the other key in the ignition the remote lock won't work.
I make more doing earn by time than I do with earn per offer, but in my market the workers are slow , and we get a lot of traffic so it naturally makes sense for me plus my accept, and comp is at 100%
A few people I have seen in comments on different platforms have said they like to use earn by time late night when the lobbies close and drivethru is always a pain to use... But unless there is some specific reason to do it then earn by offer is generally better.
Earn by time is only good in non tipping areas and longer times to deliver. You are better off driving to a better area where ppl aren't badddd tippers.
$13 in St Pete for earn by time 🤮 There's been a few times I wanted to at least try it and doordash said they were at full capacity. Was like what the hell? Who would voluntarily do that?

With the contactless delivery yeah I'm pretty sure it's from people that order directly from the merchant. I always call them unless they have pre-written instructions. I hate calling but I do anyway because I would rather know where they want their order dropped and or if they want the order handed to them. 🤷
I love your videos, but question, do you ever do dinner/evening dash? I know here in NC i get higher paying orders at night, usually starts around 6pm and by 9pm it slows down a bit. Bkfst and lunch orders always seem on the low end, and i am no top dasher. My AR a 2%😂 but i still get $15+ orders moreso at night
I tried the key thing also because I leave my car 🚙 run the entire time-unless, it is going to be quite a while, and my 2nd key 🔐 wouldn’t work either.
Always enjoy your videos. So glad your back. Dash by time would not benefit me at all. I won't ever try it unless I am dashing in a place where you have lots of traffic jams like new York which pays slightly under 30 an hour now. California would be a great place to dash it's a prop 22 state so it means loads of extras especially money about 600 extra a week. A friend told me that.
I’m a new Dasher. I’ve done over 25 deliveries in my first 2 days and I LOVE it. I’ve had so many great interactions. BUT BUT BUT… I just got my first rating…….. it was 3-stars and I don’t even know why. Am I screwed??? Now my average rating is 3-Stars because I’ve only gotten ONE rating! WHAT SHOULD I DO???
@themeatymama I find Earn By Time is much better if you actually take the time Doordash gives you. I don't even enter the restaurant until the pickup time even if I got there 10 minutes early. Then I also don't deliver before deliver time. If I need it dropped off in 20 minutes but it's only gonna take 10 I'm waiting that ten in my car. I also add me some time here and there "Order Still Being Prepared" even if it wasn't. Doordash is gonna pay me a decent amount for my time I make most stacks take the whole hour. Find myself driving less than I would if I tried to knock them out as fast as possible.

That's a shame that you don't even take into account that while you are doing all of that, just to make a few extra pennies, you don't even CARE that your customer is suffering by getting COLD food. Wow. Just wow. Can we say the word "selfish?" Hope you are never MY driver. ...And yes, I DO deliver, but I would never intentionally make a customer's food cold...no matter how bad Doordash's pay sucks.
Was this supposed to make me feel bad? Haha, I'd say the 95% of orders that get bumped to EBT cause they have no tip or very little those people are "selfish". I am selfish when I use my own car, reimburse me that wear and tear and I'll get you that food faster than The Flash. If not sorry you can wait

It comes down to this...regardless of whether it's an EBT, or whether the customer is selfish or not, I *never* accept orders that I'll feel resentful about. Period. If I have to sit in my car and buy extra minutes, or so called "waste time" to get back at a customer, that's an order I should NOT have accepted in the first place. Bottom line...I don't make a customer's food cold, ever, on purpose, whether I am using my car or not. If you have to do that, you are doing the wrong job. You just want to treat an order like you would want someone else to treat yours (even if you don't order yourself)...that's all.
