6/7 losses were game 5. 4/7 were r11 G5. I think at the end of the day it's about the confidence and delusion that they bring to champs. It's either T8 or T3 iMO.

@@poorchris Fair enough, but it'd be different if they literally didnt just win a major. Its not a skill issue, the struggles theyre having is derived from something internal. This is one of the biggest swings ive seen in a while. probably since the EG days. Theyre talented enough to stay in competition as OP mentioned, but that only goes so far.

They literally just won a major in which they beat ultra NY and FaZe on Sunday. Is it likely? No. But you’re being in denial to say it cannot happen. Any of the top 4 teams can catch fire on a Sunday and win. NYSL got 3-0d by faze twice on LAN before winning the finals. optic lost 6 straight series to faze before beating them on LAN. Any top 4 team can beat each other.

Just gonna call you out on one thing: Champs being more important isn't recency bias. Champs is more important due to its elevated status and prestige in the community. Saying that NYSL is the best regular season team would be recency bias. Saying that they're the favorites for Majors (if one believed that) also is probably not recency bias because it recognizes the historical importance of momentum in these two CDL events

Think he said it isnt recency bias that champs is more important than what happens at Major 1. He was getting at the fact that it matters more winning when everyone is playing the game at the highest level after playing it all year, than it does winning major 1 when people are still learning the game. Major 1 in my opinion just shows who’s ahead or learned the fastest, not who’s the best

I honestly feel that’s what optic is missing a scump like slayer who can do it all. If there was to be a change that makes sense it would be to pick up hydra because right now they need the whole team to work together in order to make moves but if they have a Mr. Do it all they will fix a lot of wholes

If swapping flex and ar hasn't changed the team over the last few years swapping drazah for scrap wont make much difference. Getting hydra and simp flex would be the safest play but if Shotzy and Abezy worked out it would be 100x better again.

He had the keys when he was thinking about moving to Faze as well. He said it himself - at the end of the day, he values the paycheck. Moving to Faze is a guaranteed bump in his tournament earnings based on recent history, it's not unrealistic to think that he is still considering a move

It's definitely still possible for OpTic to win Champs. Everybody looks vulnerable rn. As we saw on Sunday of Major 3, it just takes one hot streak for a team with this level of talent. Just need Pred to get his mojo back and get the SnD strats in order, then play confident and trust your body of work on the season

It doesnt matter how a team is the whole year. If they show up and perform at any team can win it. We all know Faze is the total opposite. They perform well throughout the season. But they only have 1 chip to show. Since the start of the CDL. IMO there are no favorites at champs. All trends aside. Its just a matter of which team clicks on all cylinders championship weekend.

Using these cards as if they tell you anything is nuts-the formula is a complete mystery and based on the cards places too much value on meaningless stats. Also, the “per 10 min” stats are based on the match score (in seconds), not actual 10 minutes of game play, which tells you nothing and isn’t meaningful in comparing across matches

Don't get me wrong, the falloff from OpTic is INSANE. HOWEVER, to be playing REALLY bad COD with REALLY bad vibez, and STILL take nearly all your opponents to game 5... that's kind of insane haha. In shotzzys interview with Scump he said he cares more about the money than the chips or rings. He may make a little more prize money if he went to faze but I’d bet optic is giving him an absolute bag salary wise that no one else can match not to mention his content viewership from being on optic. Scump would have 10 event stretches where he'd drop 1.3+ every event playing way more matches each event. That's what makes him incomparable imo

Shotzzy is not going nowhere😭 he has the keys to the team he can build any roster he wants on the biggest gaming org in the world and faze roster is great rn I doubt they would want to do a roster change when they had so much success going into a brand new treyarch game

Only thing I don’t like about competitive cod is how can you be a top 4 team and be talking about roster changes just because you don’t win champs after 1 year with a roster it makes no sense they get no time to make chemistry.
