Well the SU57 will be a great plane, too... But I agree with you on the Rafale... There's defenetly something about french Planes... Mirage 3, 2000 (politly not looking at the F1 ;) Concorde and the Rafale. All beautys. Hope Swiss AirForce will decide to buy the Rafale (instead Typhon) to replace the old F5 (and not so old but unserviced F18)...

Je vois mal les Suisses se faire b... la g... avec le F-35 comme tant d'autres pays... 1) les Suisses sont connus pour avoir l'amour de la qualité et de la fiabilité ; 2) la Suisse est un pays neutre, qui ne fait pas partie de l'OTAN, donc moins susceptible de faire l'objet de pressions étrangères, en particulier des Etats-Unis. Au final, je pense que la compétition en Suisse va réellement se jouer entre le Rafale et le Super Hornet. Ce dernier est, à mon avis, le concurrent le plus sérieux du Rafale car c'est un excellent avion multirôle, mature, éprouvé, et la Suisse est aujourd'hui équipée de son prédécesseur, le Hornet.

Et j'ai oublié un autre élément : la Suisse, également en raison de son statut de pays neutre qui n'intervient jamais dans des opérations à l'étranger, n'a pas vraiment besoin d'un appareil furtif conçu pour pénétrer des défenses antiaériennes ennemies, au détriment d'autres capacités.

There is a video rafale vs f16 starts front . It took 30s to the rafale to shot down ( guns) the f16 by getting in its controle zone so the rafale is more manoeuvrable than the f16 ( which is one of my favourite plane and the best of its time)

Mi-O'-Mi, if this isn't the most amazing video photography I've evr seen, honest from here. Evr didja 'all notice how absolutely fantastical the capture & the reproduction what we now see produced from this gentleman's camera. It was as-if the jet stood out or apart from its background, what can be made-out very clearly the aircraft was indeed entirely a separate object altogether & did not fall-flat like the age-old early cameras of yesteryears had, what for too long consisted of the usual 2 dimensional plane effect. In contrast, this looked as-if like there is some kinda 3 D effect hardware features & some special proprietary software programs at play here.

The Rafale beaten the F-22 so it's not comparable to an obsolete F16
