I think this is a good example to expand upon for your audience that is just learning about SQL and analytics. The requirements left some room for interpretation and as someone pointed out in another comment, your solution is a case where it may produce the correct result was not correct. On the surface the requirements were suggesting that the customer must have 3 transactions in both years. This would be something to confirm with stakeholders to ensure the proper result. It is pretty easy to get data back from a database but a whole other thing that the data be accurate. There is so much nuance that the most important rule is always know your data and QA the hell out of it. This is something i see overlooked by a lot of new analysts. I dont know what brought me to your video but i thought it was interesting, i could of used stuff like this many years ago.

Great video, and thank you for the new resource. I am currently studying SQL on free resources such as youtube and W3Schools. What would you recommend for practice, to ensure I am retaining the information. -- or what helped you best when you were learning?

You're welcome! When I was learning SQL, I used datacamp (link in description) and linkedin learning. These platforms are good for learning SQL but not as great for preparing for the real interview questions. For free SQL interview questions you can find some online and if you want a structured platform, I really like Interview Query. Ultimately practicing real SQL questions is what will help you do better in the real interviews.

Hey I’m so glad it was helpful. That was an intermediate level question..and agreed the questions are tricky! The best way to prepare will be to just do a lot of practice questions on your own and you’ll get better at them

Did your solution get any customers with more than 3 transactions in EITHER 2019 or 2020, not BOTH?

Good catch! You're right it should be where 2019 AND 2020 but the above will show either. I should have added something like having 2019 > 3 AND 2020 > 3. Thanks for finding that!
