I think for a Data East fan like myself this thing seems like it works best as more of a fun little collectible (aesthetically it looks really cool!). That horrible D-pad, the $40 price point and the reset button being right next to the start button really kill it as an actual device I’d want to play though. I feel like they could’ve made the reset button not sticking out so much so it would be tougher to press accidentally. I’m honestly also curious who even owns the Data East library these days. Thanks for the review man!
I keep seeing these but always nope out when I see $40. Seems like you only ever need 1 but this might be the one to get with all the garbo time bonus games
Always get them on sale. They're fun, but yeah, that price is too much. Some of the newer games either skip the filler games, or actually put decent games on as filler. Eventually I'll have a new video about them including that SF2 one.
It plays like those cheap NES Handhelds on Ali Express that have dozens of games loaded onto it. This seems like they got that and made a few edits to the games and left all of the other crap on there. It should have just been 8 Data East games with nice emulation quality and a good screen.
it seriously is. I got one on clearance cause I figured it could be hacked into something useful. turns out all the electronics the display uses are behind an epoxy blob and impossible to use for anything other than that cheap game component
