Too many handhelds is a video series that takes a look at a variety of handheld video game systems. These are unscripted, informal reviews of each system, going over the pros and cons of each. There are also first impressions videos, and non-handheld gaming related content.
An absolute classic handheld. The original that sparked a number of copy cats to follow. Love this game and shines bright in my handheld collection. Thank you for the review.
Omg, I had the purple one as a kid! My siblings and I always wondered if it could hear us say what word/name we were gonna do because it was always right.😂
I don't remember what games it came with, and usually I wipe them and add my own anyway. But it runs PlayStation games well, so those Tomb Raider games should run just fine on it.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think there are some android GBA cores on RetroArch that support gyro and rumble. I don't know off the top of my head though. You would also need a handheld or device that supports both too.
what's really strange about 3DS.-DS emulation is even when you compare the quality of DS games on the 3DS to DS games on the DSi it still looks worse even though they are the same screen sizes. because it should be higher quality on a more pixel dense screen but it just isn't. The DSi is by far the way to go when playing DS titles. (Also need to clarify I have the regular New 3DS not the XL which has the same bottom screen dimensions as the DSi and same top screen height dimension).
Fun fact: The Logical Song by Supertramp has this game's sound effect in it. Here's a link to it, right about where it is. I may be off a second or 2, but when you hear it, you'll know. music.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-low6Coqrw9Y.html. They actually used the real sound effect, not a "reproduction" of it.
I really hope the Nintendo Switch Successor will be just as powerful as (if not slightly more powerful than) the Steam Deck while still releasing a portable device that is just as small as Nintendo Switch Lite while also having a more comfortable shape to hold it too, without making it too heavy. Handheld Gaming is already evolving to a whole 'nother level, just need it to be powerful enough to run Modern Hardware in a comfortably small device, with good battery-life as well.
For anyone who is finding this video post June 2024, the Ever SD has an update on their site to work with these two versions of the Super Pocket. There are 2 more models of the Super Pocket that have been announced, along with the Evercade EXP-R, and at this point in time it is unknown whether the Ever SD will support those or not, but for now the Capcom and Taito Super Pockets do work with it.
This is so awesome, and not only for kids, I'm a man with Autism and curiosity for technology and this kind of devices I find them really helpful since much of this things didn't exist when I was a kid and made me depart from a Carrer in technology (I had to turn to a day job to survive since I live in a country where this things and knowledge were difficult to access to), so I think I'm buying a few of this, for me and for my niece, maybe I could learn a little about coding and interest my niece into it. Thank you for sharing my good friend.
I have been wondering this for the longest time. There are adapters for things like that Analog Pocket, but something like a smaller Game Gear that plays Game Gear carts with a modern screen and better battery life would be so nice to have!
It's a nice form factor for a breakout box. My issue with it is the hdmi output. It's brutal and NOT accurate. As a handheld it's not bad but the battery life is brutal. And yes I own one, I was one of the foolish early adopters.
This brings back a lot of memories because I remember having this blue 20Q game back in 2007 when I was 10 and then I later on I got another one that was purple, but I have a story about the blue one I had, so this happened one time when me and my family went out to eat at this restaurant and I brought this game with me and I remember forgetting about it and leaving it in the car and then a little while later when we were going home I started hearing this loud high pitched noise, I didn't know what it was at first but then I found out that this 20q game was making this sound because I pressed one of the buttons and it didn't do anything and the screen was just blank I didn't know what was wrong with it at first but then I right away knew that the batteries were really low and it was kind of glitching, I was glad that they didn't explode, so the very next day I got some new batteries and this 20Q game was working fine again, I will never forget that day, just that loud noise it was making kind of scared me a little bit, I was already thinking "Oh no this little game is gonna explode along with it's batteries" I remember taking this handheld game with me everywhere I went because it was just fun and entertaining at the time
it is an interesting challendge to make electronic game with midern components. I have made a golf-themd game of my own : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-d6wDxsJFdB8.html
This RetroBit RetroDuo Portable was like a Sega Nomad for the Super Nintendo/NES, It makes a NES cart, Super Nintendo cart, a Game Boy Advance cart and a Sega Genesis cart that works with that as well. It can also be connected to a TV along with two (2) controllers to be used as a console at the same time. The RetroDuo Portable has a converter so I can use any Super Nintendo controllers/accessories, and also use many of the add-ons that Nintendo has made such as the Super Advantage, Super NES Mouse, AsciiPad controller, the Super Advantage, the Specialized Fighter Pad, SN Pro Pad, SN Program Pad, Capcom Fighter Power Stick, Fighter Stick SN, the Power Plug, Super Multitap, the Super Link, the BatterUp baseball bat controller, Super Controller and more.
Unfortunately it's only available for the 3DS and 3DSXL models as far as I know. There isn't a dsi version, but even if there was I don't think there are any DS games that supported it, just 3DS. And it just clips onto the system.
Just to make it clear to other visitors finding their way here to ask if the EverSD works with the Super Pocket, the ANSWER IS NO. For now, apparently. (says somebody who read it wrong, bought one and now has an unusable cart). Wish the author of this video had made that a little clearer ;) He's just showing that the EverSD exists and works (on the OG Evercade handheld) and then showing the two types of Super Pocket on the market. NOT them both working together.
I'm really not sure where to pick one up these days. I bought mine as an import a long time ago, but the usual eBay/Mercari used market sites tend to have them. I hope you find one at a good price.
