You can simply make a dynamic drop down list just by selecting extended range and by allowing ignore blank cells. simple, and it works the same

at 30:35, when I am using List as Validation Criteria I am able to do Data Validation but with Custom as Validation Criteria , it's not happening? why is that?

Thank you, Sumit. I really enjoy your lessons. How do I stop Excel from flashfilling when I use an offset formula? For example, when I use this formula (=OFFSET($O$8,0,0,COUNTIF($O$8:$O$17,""&"")) Excel flashfills all the bottom rolls. I turned off automatic flashfill but I'm still getting the same results.

You are doing a great job..but by going into too deep by mixing several formulas confuses the beginner level student.
