Two thoughts. This new format is going to be awful, and the times are going to be absolutely atrocious. I don't think Mike was able to actually get a point across without Rico interrupting him. Rico is not a good co-host.
@@fredleinweber2819 I’ll be waiting. And I didn’t say it was good for the game, it’s just economics. Plus, Mike will still be watching and so will all of you. If everyone is too lazy to boycott, networks will continue to get greedier and greedier
If you feel the need to go to all these then that’s on you. Besides the Rose Bowl, the live game experience for these games is not worth a $400 ticket.
Setting aside the fact I think it should be 4 teams and not 12, I’m mostly okay with this. I agree splitting the Semis up is an odd choice, but spreading everything else out is cool. It’ll feel like there’s a game every night come December, college and pro. I guess we’ll see if that’s true in actuality or we’ll get burnt out.
@@vincesmith2499 I don’t think a 12 team playoff was needed. I think the perfect amount would’ve been 8. 8 teams makes sure each conference winner gets in plus the best teams that didn’t win their conference
I'm with Mike all the way. Totally watered down product. More is not better. LESS is more. Not having the final 4 on the same day is incredibly bad. Now one team not only gets an extra day rest but they get to sit back and watch the other semi final and scout. Stupid Between the playoff and NFL games its going to be football overkill. Too much, too often like Mike said.
Couldn’t agree more. Sure there will be big time matchups but once the postseason rolls around it’ll just rematches from the regular season and those don’t have the same juice to them
There are nine conferences. You can't just have a four team playoff. LOL Guessing who the top four teams are is much dumber than the new format. What if college basketball had a four team playoff? That would be absurd.
The new system does not have this format yet, but every conference champion should get an automatic bid. The reg season is about winning your conference, so you should be rewarded for it. That will also reduce the odds of having rematches from the regular season in the playoffs.
@@vincesmith2499 My pont is that its ALL stupid. I know the expanded playoff is because of the now bloated conferences and thats the start of it. No more regionality in the game, conferences are 16-20 teams going coast to coast, thus less importance on rivalries and conference championships which is what made NCAAF great. Mike also once said before that whether you liked the sport or not NCAAF was unique and it NEVER needed to be like NCAA hoops or the NFL. But now thats what it has become. Its a little bit of both. And that isn't a good thing.
