I got a couple of requests to do a video like this, so here it is! This is my personal experiences and observations of the differences between dating a Dominican man vs. an American man.. what are the differences? Of course, this pulls in a lot of cultural differences, but not every experience will be like these! It is very interesting to see how upbringing affects relationships and personality later on in life. I also got a lot of great responses through Instagram when I asked other people's experiences in dating a dominican or american man. Dominican dating culture is different than in America, but there are definitely a lot of similarities and it depends on the person. Of course, it could be different if you ask dominican women. And as always, I don't mean any disrespect to anyone through this video. I am always interested in other people's experiences, so I would love to hear your own in the comments below.

Hahah ahhh everything in this video that is said is so so true. I’m talking to this Dominican man now. He lives in Santiago DR too, and he is very affectionate. We talk everyday, he wants to FaceTime all the time, asks me for videos and pictures of my face or just to hear my voice❤️. He is very sweet lol. It shocked me of how romantic he is, cause I wasn’t use to that coming from dating American guys. But the guys in DR are very romantic. And like you mentioned, he will call me his “Reñía” , “mi amor” “Amoricito” “Cariño” 🥰😂🙏🏾❤️ It very so sweet and brings a smile to my face. Like.. everytime we talk he always addresses me with that love and respect. And he is very big on family.🙏🏾 and after a few days of talking he already expressed that he wants to marry me and he loves me. Lol I’m supposed to go see him real soon! But I totally agree with everything in this video, it is so true lmao.

Married to a Dominican man for 8.5 years now. Very different than men from the states. He has his faults, as we all do, but by FAR, he is the best. Very loving, passionate, committed and so involved in life together with me every day. He has always been this way and the longer were married, the more this grows. Keep in mind tho, there are good & bad in both cultures. Some American men are awesome individuals as well... my son for one! :) So, thanks for sharing this video. :)

You've done a great job explaining the how the Dominican men are. You have been extraordinarily accurate. I have to say I couldn't do it better, and I am Dominican man. As I'm living outside the country in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, I'll save this video to let you explain those differences for me. I struggle here with the European ladies in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as they are more reserved, although I'm an introvert Dominican man, but still like to joke, laugh and consider friends people who I just met like a typical Dominican. Again 95% accurate!

This will be a bit much, I'm a guy from the states married to a dominicana from Santiago and one thing I've picked up on is dominicans are more willing to try love a lot more faster than Americans,Americans sometimes will wait an eternity and still won't commit or marry where Dominicans will know you for not so long of a time and be willing to try a marriage or relationship but that does come with benefits to them but still more willing to at least try ,

Girl, you nailed it ! I would also like to add: Dominicanos are known to be sweet-charmers, talkers and smooth. I think I might need to attend a 12- step program !. It’s like they place a spell on you in their presence. 😜

@@MillsRepDom while I was at work, I started thinking about other things that they do.If they don’t hear you well or doesn’t understand what you just said, they will wrinkle up and twitch their nose at you - sort of like a bunny rabbit. Also, they love pointing with their lips. If they need you to move over they will perk up their lips as if they are kissing you. .

I have never dated an American man. My husband is Dominican and I can say he is affectionate pero no pegajoso. He does call me reina, mi amor, etc. So agree with a lot of what you said about Dominican men.

I can definitely agree. Also, I would like to add that Dominican men have better hygiene than American guys. Living in the U.S. I have noticed that the majority of American men are comfortable in their dirt, sweat, and gunk or funk. It is what it is.

Dominicans man are good in alot of things but when they want to be bad oh lord, they love cheating, yes they are family oriented. What I like is they are good dancer in general and that " sazón" is from homeland.

I agree with pretty much everything you said lol. Including some of the 'stereotypical' stuff. Dominican men _are_ typically quicker to get into relationships, more family oriented, many times babied, definitely more affectionate, sensual, smooth talkers, they do typically look for women in the same social bracket, hard working etc etc... ....Buuut unfortunately more likely to cheat and be more flirtatious with other women 😩 like you said American men, once settled down do tend to take their relationship more seriously. But there is of course many Dominican men that take their relationships seriously as well.

I agree! My boyfriend is Dominican and he is ready to get married a lot sooner then an American man. He is the most amazing man I’ve ever met. He’s so romantic and has taken me all over the DR. I’m going back in January for two weeks! I’m so excited. Are you going to do a video of his experience now that he’s in American and what his likes and dislikes are so far.

You need to make sure he isn’t just marrying you to get a visa. Anyone marrying a male from any other country and your American need to know they are using you for a visa. They move very fast because if you go on vacation there they only have a short window of time to swoon you. Because your only there for a week or so. I’m not saying everyone is like this but especially if you stay in resorts and hotels they work at the hotels on purpose to meet Americans. They will go so far as to let you meet their family and their family is in on it

Jane’s DaniLion he actually wants me to move there with him. And has never mentioned moving here. He pays for my flights to the DR and I’ve never spent any money on him nor has he asked me to. I’m not some young child nor am I naive to the ways of the world.

@Brittany Lynn You can't tell me what my experiences are just because you didn't have the same. I didn't say that Dominican men were great overall, I said they were great in bed. My ex was the best sex I had, maybe yours were not. But don't try to invalidate my experiences because yours weren't the same. Men in general aren't good, and Dominican men do have machismo and other issues, yes, but at least my ex was decent in bed.

I'm not sure if he was seeing another woman but he would leave me then come back and leave then come back. Now he doesn't care and never cared. Ripped me apart. I know you have been too. You spiritually connect with someone and they dump you like you're trash. But you are not trash.

Not new to Latino men, but recently started dating a Dominican man. So far he seems to be so incredibly sweet and caring and loving...I'm hoping that is not just his "representative" and I know only time and his actions will tell. I am going to visit him in August and I'm super excited but he wants me to meet his whole family...mom, brothers, grandparents...that makes me SO nervous! I know that family is super important in his culture, but is this normal? Especially so soon? Love to hear your thoughts and advice! Love your videos...thanks for all of the helpful advice!

In general they love to drink and are very good dancers, they hate been cheated on, even though is almost normal and accepted by his entire family when he cheats, they are loud and dramatic and they are taught by parents his the man of the house, they are barely shy and they are what they call "tigueres" that means they are streetwise and mostly will marry the nicest girl in town the rest are just to have a good time, and they love their food you better cook for them or his entire family will chew you down.

I'm American currently in a long distance relationship with a women in the DR. We have been dealing with each other for 8 months. I will admit, I was moving very slow at first and I was not that affectionate but after listening to this, I need to start being more romantic since we really like each other.
