It's interesting to note that Hailey has grown up around male figures like Alec and Stephen Baldwin who are alcoholic or/and abusive people. So that could be kind of normalised for her in turn making it harder for her to differentiate between behaviour that's healthy and that's not. Also, Hailey seems supportive and like the kind of person that really stay there through it all, which is obviously a good trait but sometimes people like that get stuck in abusive relationships because they don't know when or how to leave. As someone who was the “savior” to my partner in my last relationship, that is a lot of pressure being put on Hailey. Not only is he saying things like I don’t know where I’d be without her and she’s the only one who can put up with me... but everyone in Justin’s world is essentially saying pheuff thank goodness he’s her problem now. I noticed starting losing pieces of my own identity and own needs because my partner required so much patience and energy with his own shit as he had the same “I’m gonna keep allowing her to deal with it so I don’t have to help myself” mentality. I hate being that person who brings up Selena Gomez in a video about Justin and Hailey but, I feel like one of the reasons JB married Hailey so quickly is because she's a "safer" option than Selena. Like JB and Sel were on and off so much but Hailey is not really the kind to leave a relationship easily. It’s a mistake to think its patience and she’s being sweet. She’s emotionally broken by this… I don’t wish the best for them, I hope she gets the hell out of there. If you’re looking at this as a relationship coach, to fix relationships, it makes sense to pick up on things people say about her and about their relationship and think positively. But from a psychological standpoint working with lots of abuse situations this dynamic and his behavior is textbook abuse. The gleeful ‘I’m getting away with this’, the smirk, the baby talk, the occasional violence caught on camera at times, her subservience and diminished personality, trying to make herself smaller and focus on him, etc. These are typically the tip of the iceberg that hide emotional (and many times physical) abuse. I love your videos but I would be really careful about this topic. For victims of abuse it’s so hard to have clarity and easy to see it as someone being patient and loving of a difficult person when in fact it’s a big warning. There is a lot of excuses made around toxic dynamics that can always remain hidden or lead to a dangerous situation.

This felt like I was watching one of those documentaries about parents who are taking care of their special needs child. Justin said he was uncomfortable with her hanging around that he made up a story about a surprise dinner which made her go home to get ready for the date. Justin said he felt pressure with her in the studio. Another thing that bothered me was Justin's management team is so happy that Hailey is their for Justin in case something goes wrong. When watching the entire documentary it showed that his management team was getting calls all hours of the day claiming Justin was out of control, fighting, getting arrested, drinking & using drugs and now Hailey is their for Justin now and they can sleep better. Its gets tiresome being the person who is responsible for making someone act better, be better and treat people better. Hailey acts like Justin's mother and that never works out in the end. He will take advantage of that way more then we see in this video. Justin talks to her like a baby, in baby talk and she literally said shes like his hyperbaric chamber technician. Something I instantly noticed that felt off in the doc was how often his team kept bringing up how “Hailey was just the right girl,” even though he was literally just with Selena not that long before they got married. His assistant said something along the lines of, “She’s the first girl he’s dated that I really care for and want to protect. She’s perfect,” or something similar. The whole dialogue around Hailey was how she could handle him and put up with him and that’s SHE was the one who finally made him better. It just seemed like a dig at Selena, and them all trying to convince themselves that he really loves Hailey more. There’s no way he was seeing Selena that soon before he proposed to Hailey and that whole narrative of “Hailey just being the right one” wasn’t being done on purpose, even if it was subconscious (since Justin was an executive producer).

I see it differently, I see his consideration of her wanting to go out to dinner as a way of manipulating her out of the studio and less as a way of considering her needs. Narcissists do understand what is expected and they can pretend to care for the cameras: He’s an immature narcissist and her “dealing” with his behavior means her self-esteem will take a huge hit. This saddens me, but every relationship serves an evolutionary purpose. Perhaps Hailey is exploring the feeling of being treated as a doormat, so she can later evolve and demand respect. But if she demands it, Justin is not evolved to give it at this point. It will end when she gets tired of taking care of him, a dynamic that is not healthy for a woman. Sometimes the cost of fame, is a person’s humanity, looks like Haley pays the cost in this marriage.
