Same. It was 2010 and my cousin was driving around dropping some friends off when one of them put it on, my music tastes were forever changed from that moment. So much nostalgia :')
@@jamie299 my first dubstep was skrillex cinema remix because it played on some thrill park rides and at a party I was at around 2010 but since then I got deeper into dubstep and got familiar with the old uk records too
love the comments about this being one of the first dubstep songs people ever heard. there was really nothing like hearing dubstep for the first time back then, it was absolutely mind blowing
its the opposite mate, havoc was never officially released you cant buy it if you wanted too. he went back to it after he got a following as it was one of his better / popular tracks and then he reworked it , then the track became retreat and was released on rottun records.
Datsik's old shit like this is what got me into dubstep 10 years ago. Every synth used in the drops sound so cool and unique, when I heard this for the first time it blew my mind because I had never heard anything like it before.
+53af00d opinons are opinions. there is no facts. yes, the artists you listed are closer tied with the roots of dubstep, but music evolves. personally in MY opinion it is all good. brostep, trap, experimental, dnb... doesn't matter. just listen to what you like.
DubstepTube got me into dubstep, I was a dubstep DJ from 2013 until 2017, played all over my country and loved every minute of it! And it all started at this channel :)
I love how this dubstep music is so OG that the video wasn't targeted by stupid ads at the end. 😂 I miss the AD-FREE days of RU-vid, anyone else remember those days??? Nowadays it's not even a "media platform" it's been perversed into an "advertising platform" They might as well not even call it RU-vid anymore. 💀🙄 They need to re-name it into "AdTube" 💀🤣
This is still by far the best dubstep song i've ever heard! I've been trying to look for a challenger for months but I just can't find any other song that gets close to this ones epicness...
this was amazing in middle school. does anybody know good artists that still make dubstep like this? not saying the new dub is bad, but cmon, nothing compares to this masterpiece
Yeah to me this is alot better than Retreat, I heard this before I listened to Retreat so that may be the reason why I prefer this one. I can bop my spine to the bass of this more too ;)
Dawg I’m chilling all sober and shit and was searching up old artists that I could remember and holy crap I finally found some good artists to listen to
Fredrik Holmaeus this is legendary but there's actually some really awesome new shit, but it's all made by guy's on soundcloud with less than 1k followers. Just gotta look for it bro
11 years ago and I'm still coming back to this song grew my first set of pubes played my first call of duty mw2, found datsik, chrispy, cookie monsta!!! 22 now having a kid with a beautiful fiancée love life!! Keep skanking guys
You know its some old school shit when theres a Myspace link and "add &fmt=18 to end of the video link in address bar for high quality!" Still blasting in 2019 tho!
I remember when I ripped this tune off his MySpace in either 08 or 09 and got everyone in my town hyped about dubstep when the scene was at its healthiest. I could cry.
Datsik: one of the greatest dubstep producers. most peoples intro into dubstep, most people still find that even though this is the first dubstep producer they have heard they still think he is the best.

100% If i remember Datsik was into Hiphop beats before Dubstep which you can hear in his old tracks. But those Basslines are still like no other. This is Streetstep lol.
@@newday8545 the hip hop groove is really present in old school dubstep and brostep lost some of that groove overtime, dubstep had really nice influences
The ORIGINAL dubsteps, heard this song back in early 09, the amazing use of stutter gates, delays, oscillation, LFO's and drops. loved it then, love it now.
@Time 4 Trouble Gaming yeah it was bro! But it was still a concept. He changed it later when he released havoc. I still prefer this one though. I remember zoning the fuck out with my buddies high as fuck on weed. There is Something about weed, dubstep and being a 16 year old lol
