Datsun 510s Mini trucks and Bugs were all about my time in the 80s. That is what everyone wanted. Or if you were really cool you had a Datsun roadster. Bugs were the cheapest thing so that is what I got.
Crazy how Datsun's and VW's go hand and hand. I guess it was the era like you said that people had one or the other or even both. I currently have a '74 620 and a 67 Fastback. Still living out the 80's!!
they need to re release the cup racer 510. i am building one but on a different chasis. i have a bus on the tamiya platform too. RC is a fun hobby! this real 510 is bad ass for sure!
Bro, that dime is super clean, and for a VW guy you have that L series running perfect. Such a great sound those engines make with a set of side drafts and open resonator exhaust. I built and raced many 510s back in the 80s. I'm in love with these cars, and I still have one. it's a resto-mod SR20DET swapped pocket monster. So much fun it should be illegal. Keep up the good work.
My wife had a 79 210 2 door that engine perd like a kitten I told her I wanted the engine and trany out of it If it got recked but we sold it you just don't see too many anymore..
I own a 1971 same color love it I just need to replace front bushing, idler arms, tire rod ends and shocks any good mechanic that you might know. Love your video.
