So yall know I snoop on fb when these old cases come up. Based on fb it looks like the defendant is doing AMAZING! She’s married and posts a lot of pictures with her mom. Glad to see she matured and has a better relationship with her mom. They look happy in the photos.
Don’t have a bunch of kids if you’re not going to be able to give them the proper attention. I don’t like this mentality of as long as they have a roof over their head they should be grateful. It takes more than just food and shelter to properly raise children.

Mathis acts like he knows so much about addiction but he wasn't raised by an addict. By 8 years of age you're taking care of yourself. You get dressed, make or find food, don't get concerned when you wake up to an empty house or packed house at 3 am. You know what's going on and you are trying to figure out how to survive in it.

An just because you provide a roof over your kids heads does not make you a mother. It takes way more than that to be mother.
@@Toriab I don’t deny that at all I agree with you ! Poverty conditions and situation can lead to mis upbringing that’s what I got from the case I had a two parent household and still didn’t get love and affection smh but I’m not crazy either so I understand both sides

Yea, kids aren’t born problematic or intentionally disrespectful. As we get older we view our parents differently…we realize they’re human too. Suddenly the things they do are less deserving of our respect.
Parents are not only responsible for providing room and board, they are also absolutely responsible for emotional caregiving and relationship building as well. I’m absolutely shocked at judge response today. Parents need to think of how many kids they have BEFOREHAND rather than after the fact. It’s not all about $$ and 🏠 Funny, he often tears down men who come in not involved in their children’s lives for the same exact reason
Ummm, judge Mathis dropped the ball with the whole “ do you know she has 5 kids” yes , and she also knew to stop having them if she couldn’t give the ones she had the proper amount of attention. That’s no excuse not to be attentive to all your kids equally let alone at all. Stop having them would’ve been the answer. I’m not sure how he tried to fault the daughter for that 🫠🙄

Judge in his feelings. Bc in a similar case he doesn’t make all these justifications for the mother. It’s her fault she had 4 kids. You can gamble and still have the lights on. Very disappointed in his mood

It's because she popped off having a stinky attitude. We ALL know Mathis isn't going to put up with disrespectful attitudes and the girl definitely has one. She wants to blame her mom about " attention" but from watching her she strikes me as the " you can't tell me nothing!" Type. In MY own opinion.
It's because Mathis assumes a child is going to have the foresight to understand their mother having 5 kids and not wnoigh time to give them all attention is somehow normal. Kids don't think like that. They just know they need some love and time and positive encouragement. Mathis thinks he's perfect and kids supposed to know more mature psychology.

As a sibling to a troubled teen, I can affirm that it's not always the parent. Kids make choices. My sibling made hers contrary to what we were taught. She's doing much better today as an adult, but it was a looooooong journey for her to get here.
And people like you who actually take responsibility for their actions or the ones who make it. There are not a lot of women like you who would admit it
The defendant definitely has an attitude issue. The way she bobs her head when she talks to the judge, her facial expressions, all that attitude. She's going to run that on the right person and they're going to tear off on her a$$. She's not going to get very far in life working temp jobs, the stank attitude and who knows what type of education she has. I feel bad for her babies

Some people aren't fit or mature enough to be parents. I’m not bragging but both my parents were mature and raised me properly. But, that’s the problem with parenting today.

The plaintiff did not the best she could with the defendant. Not saying that she was perfect . The defendant has the ability to do better. She didn’t have to continue the cycle. Somebody has to break it.
I've grown up in a family with an aunt that treats her daughter just like this mom. Parents that never had love as children, replicate a worse and more toxic situation with their children
I don't understand how you can get a check for ADHD that's wild and I'm over here with PTSD for years and they giving me a run-around seeing the trauma I've been through. This world is just crazy and she did it to her sister too so this mother's collecting probably five social security checks for her five children
The fact that there are women and men who make it their business to give attention where it is necessary shows that JM needs to deal with trauma. I have 3 and I give them each individual time. It is hard and stressful, but I try my best to make it happen. My own mother was single for the most part of our childhood but we got individual attention and group. She was a great example and I love her dearly for that. He needs to heal, clearly. Everyone is on their own paths, but he needs help and if he has sought it, he needs to go further.

I have 5 daughters, even tho i be tired asf,i make it my business for each to have 30 minutes to tell my about they're day r issues r just chill with me with no interruption from their silbings, then a movie time (or 15 minutes with dad get home) if up to after dinner, then give me my peace a shower n bed
Regardless if there’s a roof over their head if you’re taking their ssi and gambling it away that’s not right period. And her momma have 5 kids ain’t got shit to do with her why have all them kids if you can’t show them no love, care, or nurturing. Yes the defendant has an attitude problem but I feel it stems from a lot I feel. But Mathis problem is he has a Avery old school way of thinking and compares his life too much to others his life ain’t no one else’s .
All a parent has to do is come in and say, "They were a troubled child," and then he goes off being an ass. She never said her mom spent all the money, she said she spent her social security. Kids require different amounts of attention and if you're sending an ADHD child to a group home they're not getting the attention. I know his mom was an angel, but every parent isn't. And he sits there calling the defendant disrespectful, but she's got the exact same tone and body language as her mother.
