because partnership and parenthood are different features entirely . i love my eldest child and i hated her mother long after we've separated ( feeling was 100% mutual ) . and er.. we fought a lot ( not just with words ). it is nice to be picture perfect on both fronts but reality is different for some of us.
@jada39748

@@PHlophe Partnership and parenthood go hand in hand, especially in terms of the environment you are fostering for your child. This environment can set them up to either fail or prosper. Disagreement among partners is normal and fine, but fighting (not just with words) is not. Reality is objective, not relative-in every partnership, it is wrong to be abusive.

The risk of her chosing a partner for herself like her father was to her mother is a great risk. The story about the mom writing a story about her daughter and calling her the b word made me so emotional. The mom should be ashamed of herself and its nothing to laugh about. I'm so glad the other mom asked if her daughter was okay.

You can see exactly what kind of parent that mom is. She used her daughter for content and quick clicks and her daughter has to live with forever having that piece follow her. Coming from a dynamic where my father is this way its very complex. The dad and the husband are two different entities. & while they do overlap eliminating the existence of a parent in your life is hard. Especially when they have changed and are working on being a better version of themself. If we cut off our parents for every mistake many of us would not have any interaction with them at all. It hurts us and of course you want to stand in solidarity with your mother and there is resentment that is built when you may learn the things that she went through as a woman. It’s soul crushing but it also would have been soul crushing to be a little girl growing up without a father who showed up for her. It’s hard and I’m still processing the forgiveness for him and mourning the young woman for her. & I’m almost 30

Because no one should have access to every move you make in your own life. That's called being controlling or living vicariously through your child. Your children are your their own people. Constantly monitoring them is dictator like and makes them appreciate you less as a person because they don't even act like they trust you or care about your own rights. This is coming from someone who has parental monitoring on everything. No child should only have the bathroom or shower as a source of privacy.

I relate alot to Taia and Artista. I also grew up in a home where domestic abuse was happening and we had to leave home alot, but my mom really wanted us to have a two parent home. My dad eventually got disgnosed with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and ptsd and once he got the help he needed it did get a lot better and they’re both amazing parents to this day. ❤
@Psyren27

That's amazing 💜 so glad your dad was able to get help too. Noone deserves to suffer abuse from someone they love. But we were young and he had an undiagnosed mental illness and was overlooked by healthcare professionals. Sad that people who just need help, often go so long before receiving diagnosis's that can explain and get much needed treatment. Taia's Dad is so much better on his medication and I'm grateful he got the help he needed so he could be there for the kids when they were older.

the fact that artista didn't talk poorly about her ex husband toward her kids is sooooo mature and important. so many parents who split up act so negatively and toxic toward one another, and it shows a lot of strength to go through a bad relationship and not put it on your kids.
