How can one not love this man! He was a national treasure, kind soul, and educated a nation. Without pressure, arrogance, or elitism, Tony Randall introduced the arts, culture, and etiquette to the nation through his character Felix Unger. Felix (Tony Randall) was a role model as he showed bravery, toughness, and humor without being a brute. Every episode where Felix the Lawyer was present was a joy to watch.

I worked with Tony once… a very funny, charming man… he was a delightful surprise. They could have licensed the Odd Couple music and played it as Dave went uptown.. especially the shot of the apartment building. It had that feel…

Reminds me of the time Dave was doing shows in Chicago and had to fly back to New York to tell Tony he would be gone all week, and not to hang around the studio.

For years I’ve tried to recall what Randall and Letterman bet on when they disagreed on some minor issue while Randall was on once. I only saw this once, long decades ago, and the show on which Randall returned and we had a resolution of some sort. I’ll be grateful to anybody who can fill in the blanks. Thanks!
