I was in middle school back then. I used to stay up and watch Conan. I discovered Dave through these pre Chappelle show interviews. I laughed harder then I've ever laughed. When I heard he was getting his own show I'd was very excited. Didn't think his show would be arguably the funniest ever.
@@pereiraplaza222 I'm lucky. I remember a world where you could wake up and go an entire day without going on the internet. It was called being a human being.
It's an absolute sincerity to society that the in depth of both cultures black and white inspiring comics have constantly produced an ambiance of complete comfortability as a whole, And is in complete enjoyment of each other's presence****
Ive seen him do this same bit about the grape drank later on in one of his shows. Its cool to see how it got polished up because you can tell he's still hammering out a few things on it in this, like the apple drank part.
Man, the GOAT has always operated on a different level of funny. Love seeing these old ones and how sharp his content/delivery was. Guess this was content testing for his FWIW special. Not to mention some stuff I’ve never heard like bombs and food 😂
My grandfather always wore one of those cloth caps, in England in the 40's and 50's. He drove a taxi and the front where he sat was open, so he was dressed for the great outdoors. I love those caps. Dave's hat looks expensive. Looks good. Like he's dressed up for the occasion. Brilliant guy, isn't he?
I literally typed "Conan 2001" because I remember Jordan saying about his 2002 year being absolutely gross. So I started a year early to see the process lmao
I respect David Chappelle for his bravery in saying statements that are true, regardless of how the information is received. I respect David Chappelle for his innate ingenuity to craft the truth in a comedic fashion that makes the information memorable. I respect David Chappelle for being a self made man who happens to be a celebrity of the first tier in entertainment and possessing the riches he has now and the wealth he will have later. No one gave this man of respect anything. He earned all he has using his God given talent.
"imagine they bomb your city 18 times in a row, you're running from your life all the time, then all of a sudden... It starts raining Bolognese sandwiches
This was before he sold out…this interview alone is better than all of his new stand up combined. It’s unbelievable how much better he was as a comedian.
Lol saying that the man in the prime of his life, with newborn children of his own, walked away from 50 million dollars "sold out" says a lot about you
