After two intense years of covid 19, ADE was finally held again. After much deliberation Dj Dave Clarke decided to organise his annual ADE show at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. The 16th edition, and the longest running techno night during ADE. It turned out to be a special night. Dave played one of his best sets to an amazing crowd.

One of the dopest intro's ever in the Techno scene. What a set 🔥love the oldskool vibesss! One of the last dj's who actually really mix a set 💯 I miss this guy on the big festivals like Awakenings. It's a shame that they only book the new generation on the festivals nowadays. Im blessed that i have witness this man's skills live since the 90's on Awakenings several times. The baron, he's the best ❤️💯🔥

Personally i like the style of Dave Clarke, his technique, his abrupt mixes like he doesn't care, his way of creating contrast, his imagination and how he manipulates the tools around him like no one has ever thought of doing, sometimes even his sloppiness is cool

@@LukezyM He does have super fast transitions but the way he does it is so cheeky and well crafted there's nothing like it, best Techno DJ I've ever heard most probably I do get what you mean about today's transitions though they're just not the same are they, a lot are like a Pub/Bar DJ switching to the next Karaoke track

You should have seen his T in the Park set (I want to say around 8 years ago?? I've been to so many it's difficult to differentiate) - the crowd were going insane - one of the best sets I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot.

Used to see him in Brum at HOG Digbeth with Surgeon, Sir Real etc... Always luls you into a false sense of security with the funky house intros, and then just drops and unbelievably hard four to the floor tune. Tune at around 13:00 'bass' slaps. Edit : FWB Rob Lewis

@@manart3954 Not heard the term Waw before?? is it similar to DAW? I completely understand the creativity side of things, I would be hard pressed to do the visuals I create without digital, although my main source of material I use I created 30 years ago through analogue. With DJ’ing there are many aspects where vinyl records exemplify the skill of the artist. You could say to me that I’m being nostalgic but it’s more than that - there is a warmth to the sound of vinyl records, to me cd’s/mp3 sound cold and clinical. There’s the visual side of things, for example a Dj holding up a particular 12” for the crowd to see, not quite the same if they were to hold up a memory stick…. A lot more effort goes into playing vinyl, the sourcing of the material the lugging of record boxes around, yep I know these seem as disadvantages but it shows a level of commitment. When Dave Clarke did his notable spin backs in the past there was an ‘edge’ to it. Music, when it is played via vinyl records, has a groove to it : )
