to me, this is real techno- the depth and darkness being the defining qualities. i consistently come back to Rodhad and Vril for the depth and uniqueness that they bring to their music and sets. to be able to dance AND work to this is a gift and shows its versatility and the significant amount of time that Rodhad takes to craft his sets. absolutely perfect
@@thepsychonaut8212 you’re the best, gotta love people sharing more amazing artists so thank you🥳 once i discovered this specific genre of techno , I cannot for the life of me stand the crap that I hear played by 95% of techno djs and producers. It all is so boring. But this sub genre truly feels so different.
@@Julsies7 well the problem is that 95% of what is labeled techno these days isn’t techno.. it appears techno now includes prog house/trance , had trance, happy hardcore tech-house and festival edm. 😂😂 you have a great ear for the real stuff… u n IG?
Most of my techno crew is 40 and over, we rarely feel out of place in Amsterdam, it's a great thing there. Friends went to Spain and were age shamed at clubs, it sucked so bad. Funny how some places are better with mature crowds than others
@@lizholcomb4719 I gotta get back to Amsterdam if this is true. Haven't been since I was 30, and that was 2000....so you can do the math. I'm still into music and the scene even now...late 90s and early 2000s were the hey day for me but damn good to know others my age are still into it.
I was still discovering techno when 7 years ago I encountered a song named Howling "signs" rodhad remix. To me it will always be the number 1 song. Since that day i followed and listen every single rodhad set i can find. Dsicovered various artists, different techno styles. But, rodhad for me is techno, it just takes me where anyone else can. I don't do drugs, but i feel drugged listening to his sets, and his music. Thank you rodhad, you made me discover techno. When i have the chance i'll travel wherever you go and ill see you live as many times as i can. I'm really not a fan boy in anything in life. Rodhad really hits me different, if i meet you one day i don't know how i will react. Your music changed and changes me. Thank you!
We were at 909 this year. It was exactly the same. Beautiful techno, friendly older crowd and hardly any phones. It's a very special place 🎵❤️ to everyone who feels like Rodhad should be in the dark in a club. This stage felt like it was a club 🎵 and it definitely didn't need to be dark 😁🎶
I'd like to take this opportunity to start a HUGE applause to all the sound engineers that make this festival (and the 2023 and 2024 ones) happening so that everyone can enjoy great techno. Without these heroes a DJ is nothing. Let's applaude here !
Saludos desde Cuba, impresionante, tremendo set este ,como pocos, creo que para la historia y también va a ser la tarea obligatoria de las nuevas generaciones, que fuerte limpio y noble a la vez
i can only seem to tolerate dark sets these days. the light happy techno just doesn't do it for me. i keep coming back to rodhad, vril, and dax j for that reason. give me the dark, soulful, creepy techno
Old school techike no lep top, just groove after groove, and a good music choice, playing in the turn table with h so much feeling and rhythm. CONGRADS FROM Portugal Hope to get there i come from vynil school so... 👏🏻
high!BDlee 1question: do you know if there s any version of the909 with a onboard smplr? If you re a concert afficionado with no interest in electronic gizmo ,no need to answer just enjoy... Perhaps later... DaLee
It´s my very best discovering this year. I have no idea where this guy has been all the time but I completely lose my mind listening his sets. Keep the techno up, where it belongs!!!
Very nice set, but this kind of techno deserves a club night. The music and vibe is so much more intense en better than at an open air day time festival.
I was thinking the same. Should this not only be allowed to played in the dark. It feels like it's fake. Or maybe I am getting old I don't know it's just personal though.
I was at that too and it was ammmaaazinng, that whole night was incredible.,Rodhad, Jeff Mills, Sam Paganini, Ben Klock, Speedy J...and all had top top sets
I would literally pay for someone to be my informer on where I should go next and rave with this type of crowd. Holy fuck, this looks like paradise... No over the top attention seekers, chavs, kids, etc., people just vibing and having a great time.
1:07 Hey a nerd with an H9 and a BlueSky LOL. This looks like my living room. Except on the reverb he's got a red cable going into the Right In and another red cable in the Left Out, which isn't something he would just accidentally do. So the reverb tail is getting flipped going into the Xone:96, which turns the pre-delay on the reverb into a low-key ping-pong echo.
nicht mal richtig bekannt gewesen vor ein paar Jahren auf dem zweiten Floor im Gotec-Club die Hütte abgerissen und jetzt mittlerweile ... !!! geiler Typ einzigartiger Sound !
This is a 909 festival and no Jeff Mills-wtf!!! Major train wreck at: 1:54:44! Nonetheless, loved his set! Every dj trainwrecks every now and then (including myself)-it is the nature of the game!
@@vasilich7832 Cool, thank you! Checked out his tracks between 2000-2005 Pretty cool combo between Industrial and Hypnotic. And not necessarily 4-2-Floor, but breakbeat'ish, at times. I have a gut feeling this style never died in Copenhagen and the bunkers/warehouses, scattered around the land.
