Thanks for posting. I’ve just re-read Giant Sized Xmen 1 and on. It is great to see Dave’s work in this format and equally as great to see how enthusiastic you are for it.
Oh, wow, I had no idea that these books were that large. If I decide to get one of these, which I am likely to do, I will have to get the smaller version. I particularly like Cockrum's drawings of Nightcrawler. Out of all the character art, he always stood out to me. Thanks for showing this off, I appreciate it.
Super nice. I grew up on Cockrum - Byrne - Smith era X-Men. To me, it’s by far the best. Byrne especially. I like Jim Lee, but the stories and impact didn’t hit me like the earlier stuff. I want all three books, but they are not cheap. Cockrum, Byrne and Paul Smith. Eventually, I’ll cop ‘em, but until then…I get to peek at them from great videos like yours.
Their runs have definitely been listed among the best in comics. I had to grab those two X-Men books. I do want Jim Lee's as well. I also just saw they announced a David Mazzucchelli Batman: Year One Artist's Edition that should be out in August. I'll probably be talking about that one at some point. I'm interested in that.
Love this! Dave was the master! It would be amazing to own this and see the art in the original size it was created! That cover is one of my favorite works of his and I bought that issue of Zoom just to get my hands on it!
Wow that's a big ass book. Looks amazing, bummer about the first page split though..I have a few of the Artists Editions of Spidey and this one is one my next list..great review btw
