I'm from Memphis,tn n ive always ben truly blown away with nyc mc n gravitate mo 2 new york rappers/hip hop (respect to dmx , yung ma , fab, dave east, nas, ja rule, biggie, juelz santan, jadakiss, 50cent, ) down south got the hot beats but ima fan of lyrical content n new York artist will give u DA pure bars/lyrics from DA soul/heart
im 37 years old and everything styles p and funk flex saying about the tape and recording the shows on the radio and putting the tissue into the tape and how your whole days/weeks would revolve around shows on the radio brought back old memories. thank you holiday stylez
Styles has too many fire projects. Top 5 for me are Gangster and a gentleman, ghost in the machine, Ghost in the shell , super gangster extraordinary gentleman, and phantom menace
People may think it's a diss to talk over Dave East in this interview. This was actually a coronation of Dave west into the family of hip hop gods. Lil bro is wise to soak up the history and carry the torch. Much more respect for East!
I respect how Styles would mention Mobb Deep when talking about the heavy hitters from the 90's era. It's like people forget that Prodigy, at one point, was considered one of the best in the game. Homey doesn't get his just due, but real headz know whats up. Much respect to Dave East as well. You can tell he really respects the culture. Salute to real Hip-Hop!
@@azrusoni6279 Nobody talking about him in Vegas. No radio play here either. But I only listen to the radio when I'm riding around with family. Never heard Dave East. But he's in MY own personal made playlists
Styles P is one of the realest. Loved the interview...true up north feel. I can't wait to hear all the music from these two Respect to Dave East and Styles P #Ghost #TheyBringTheSmoke
Big and then Jay. Then it's a toss up between Nas Rakim Kane KRS 2pac GRap Slick Rick LL Eminem Redman Meth Rae Ghost Prodigy Busta AZ Scarface Cube Andre3000 Common QTip Styles Beans Jada Cam 50 DMX Snoop Pun and Big L. And maybe Bizzy
Styles P is doing a great job making joint albums with different artists. That's the new wave and he's taking advantage. Styles P is a great mentor for Dave East, inside and outside music.
I used to think Styles Was trash. But I was 14 lol. Sheek was my guy at the time. As I grew a little older 16+ in the streets doing state bids etc Styles lyrics started to really hit home . Now I’m 34 he is definitely in my favorite Out of The Lox I just had to live a little to understand him
That's wild to me, because Sheek was the last dude in LOX that I really came to appreciate. When Sheek dropped his first solo album was the first time I was like "okay, this dude can really spit and I just been missing it." But Styles and Kiss I knew immediately how hard they were.
Styles still looks the same and hasn’t changed since I was a teenager. Him and JADA have been the HARDEST for over a decade strong; and Dave East has taken over for our Generation🔥
P and East is the dream team like USA basketball in the 90s. Next we need a Lox/East tape. East shoulders must hurt from holding all of NY on it. You can tell he grew up listening to flex dj and looking up to styles. Hes madd respectful in this interview.
DOPE ass interview. Styles is one of my all-time favorites! Shout to DaveEast, this album is a really good look. I also enjoyed this real conversation. WE needed this!
Styles P is going in! This is great. He took me back with tape on the cassette when it pops & waiting for the radio station to play a song so you can record it. #HipHop #classichiphop
So true. Many today don't even know how impactful Tribe was. Tribe Called Quest was my group. So funny to hear it from a street dude say really how he was influenced in some way. Good to hear.
I’m a young dude, but I have mad respect for the golden age of hip hop (late 80’s, early to late 90’s) and if it wasn’t for those rappers putting it down during their time, hip hop wouldn’t be what it is today.
Love this interview. The stories are incredible! Chillin in BK back n da '80s '90s, waiting for DJ Red Alert or Mr. Magic at 10pm to drop a new Rakim, Kane, EPMD, X Clan, Public Enemy... whoever! Pop a cassette in ya radio and press record. It was like buying comic books!
Definitely one of the best & most refreshing interviews for a while. Styles P in my top 5 no doubt.. One of the sickest & realest to ever do it .. East one of the dopest of the new era for sure. Love how humble he be too. Mad props to both. Beloved!!
Dave is just humble in the presents of greatness, listening taking it all in... I love it. Respect to that brother. Might download some dave east right now.
You know what love. Watching dave east humbly SIT BACK and soak game because he is a grown man..im a little guy that helps bunch of grown men and never makes my peers not feel like a boss GOD BLESS
Gee Status Bruh you on point. You can’t call what these modern rappers are doing these days hip hop, because most of them “sing-rhyme”, maybe with the exceptions of a few like Dababy, Megan Thee Stallion, YBN Cordae etc
